Pokémon General Poll #27 - Favorite Fire Pokémon

Fire has been and always will be a staple of the Pokémon franchise, with starters having that type and generally being a favorite of plenty of people everywhere. Fire types are passionate, strong, and occasionally adorable, with some really cool moves that will leave you sweating. So which fire type is your favorite and why?​

Fire-Type pokemon seemed to become less and less appealing to me in design as the generations progressed; my top 5 fire-types are in the first two generations: Rapidash, Houndoom, Ninetales, Arcanine, and flareon.

My favorite is...

I like the fire mane most; the fire element is part of its anatomy! With the introduction of animated sprites in B/W, I think that the fire design makes Rapidash more lively then the other fire pokemon that I listed above.

My favorite Fire Pokemon is Infernape because it learns plenty of good moves (Flare Blitz, Fire Blast, Close Combat, etc). Blaziken comes in close because it got Speed Boost in Gen V. Both have cool designs too.

Chandelure has been my favourite ever since it's release in B/W. It has a very unique design and I'm loving the unique typing of Ghost/Fire.

I have a lot of fave Fire Pokemon:

Chandelure: This thing has monstrous Sp. Atk that could even outclass a legendary plus I loved using it in Black.
Reshiram: The reason I wanted to play Black, I like it better than Zekrom and Reshi is totally awesome plus its Fusion Flare hits hard!
Infernape: I agree with PlatinumDude, Infernape has a very diverse moveset.
Blaziken: Hits hard with its Blaze Kick and it's fast too!
Typhlosion: My starter in SoulSilver, I had fun using it.
Houndoom: It's a canine with a beastly Dark/Fire type combo, cool.

Fire-type is not really my type, but I have quite a few favorites.

Infernape hits very hard against unprepared teams, and it can also carry a bit of surprise, being able to carry a Physical-nape, Special-nape, or Mixnape.

Chandelure's design is pretty cool! And Will-o'-Wisp + Hex is beastly!

Chandelure is probably my favourite Fire-type Pokemon. Blaziken would be the second. :3
I've chosen Chandelure because of its unique design, while Blaziken is a bamf.

To be honest, every Fire-type Pokemon from the first two generations didn't appeal to me. I mean, a dragon sort of thing, a pony, etc. They weren't anything that appeals to me.

I love it. So much. Such a cute adorable little candle. And it evolves into the amazing Chandelure, after being the adorable Lapent. Yeah, I think the Litwick line would have to be my favorite. Before then though I didn't really have a favorite fire type. I suppose Quilava would have been my favorite before Litwick, with Houndoom or Volcarona as third.

Typhlosion. My favorite of the Fire starters, my favorite of the Johtpo starters, and the first Fire-type I really trained. I like his high Special Attack power and he just looks so awesome.

It insults me that you think I would need a reason to love it, but here are a couple: its typing, its cuteness, its badassness, its design (one-headed Cerberus is fun), its moves, etc. Also it's just common enough in the game that I can easily find a Houndour if I want one but at the same time they're not popping up all over the place and making me feel unspecial.
I choose it over its evolution because Houndour is irresistibly cute.

Charizard, easily. That beast is likely the essence of dragon-power appearance, without being a dragon-type.

By the way, is it just me or do others think as well that the weekly poll thingy is gonna be 'favorite types' for a while, which is a pity since we had this one?

Rapidash

Always been my favourite fire types and most of all one of my favourites of all the 649 Pokémon. It's a beautiful Pokémon with amazing speed and great attack and movepool etc. and it's an original! <3

I like Houndour and Chandelure, and I love Charizard in the anime. I like Houndour because he just has a cool concept, and dark is one of my favourite types. Chandelure for the same reasons, and Charizard is just amazing lol.

Oh hello, Houndoom! Ever since Gen II, I've always fallen under its spell. I love its design, its typing, its movepool and its general stats. And it's a doggy that breathes fire! HOW COOL IS THAT!?

I'll choose three: Rapidash, Houndoom, and Typhlosion.

Rapidash and Houndoom are just plain cool, and Typhlosion was my first Fire starter, which helped me love this type in general. (Don't worry, I've used Charizard before!)

It'll have to be a tie between Charizard and Houndoom. Charizard was my first starter EVER. As for Houndoom, the first Pokemon I remember seeing and thinking "I want one of those."

I don't normally use Fire pokemon, but I guess my favorite would be Magcargo. It's just so cool-looking. And that is my only reason. I mean, it's a fire snail. C'mon.

Gonna have to go with camerupt. Ever since Hoenn he was been my favourite fire type. I love the concept, typing not so much and he is availabel at a great time in the game.
