FireRed hack: Pokémon Normal (Build 3.0 RC 2.73 Live Update)

I look at the download numeric and I see that people are not really updating their game to the latest version. If you want to report a bug, please make sure you are on 2.73 first.
 
I'm having trouble getting to Chert Town after I beat Team Rocket in the Aqualight Tower. Am I supposed to go through the route house 65? And if so when does he guard stop blocking me from going forward?

There is a lot of this thread to backtrack through, but is it normal (heh) to not have a prompt to switch Pokémon in battle between an opponent's Pokémon?

I've toggled the battle style option, but it didn't do anything
 
Can someone help me? Which rom should I patch the ups to? I've tried a couple and they've both glitched out. The main post is real messy and I can't find out which rom is needed.

This is a FireRed Hack.Try 1636-Pokemon Fire Red (US) (Squirrels).
 
Where is build 2.73 available for download? I'm using openemu and can't change the save type
 
The evolutions in this game are made to be challenging in order to fit the level curve of the game which is going to be in fact a full two region game. Limiting the prominence of having overpowered fully evolved creatures before the end of the Taejo league is intended. This is to give the second region more life and make it useful and challenging; something that GSC unfortunately failed to do with Kanto.

And yes there are guides being worked on for the game (there actually is one, but I took it down for updating since it is based off of beta 2.3), but obviously that is not going to be a priority right now because I was recently busy and would like to work on the game more, if you have a question on how a certain creature evolves, feel free to ask around or PM me.

Currently retouching how to rom hack lol. But I'm still working on Chert Town. The entire map is completed, just 60 percent done with scripting it. Also Xoa Ruins is going to take some time to script out since I have some neat plans for it, story wise.
 
How does Zubat evolve into Golbat? My Zubat is at level 29.

Also, Bliss stone doesn't evolve Minccino. After I use it on Minccino, it shows "Huh?" and then nothing happens. The Bliss stone is not consumed either.

Where can I find HM Rock Smash? The navigator tells me to check out the desert but there are 'smash-able' rocks blocking the way.

Can Poliwhirl evolve into Politoed? If so, always with the King's Rock? And where do I catch a Finneon?
