FireRed hack: Pokémon Platinum Red & Blue Versions - Alpha 1.3 Released!

I tried making a Platinum demake back in the day, and it was pretty crappy, as I was just getting into hacking, and there were so many things that I was clueless as to how I was actually gonna pull off.

From just a quick playthrough of this short release I can say I'm definitely impressed. You've defied the limits that prevented me from continuing with my project, and successfully ported Platinum over to GBA.

Note however, that I did say port. Although this isn't a bad thing--In fact in many ways it can be considered a good thing--it didn't feel like a demake, but rather like I was actually playing Platinum on a GBA emulator. I feel like this is mostly due to the graphics style. It looks exactly like Platinum, In my opinion this hack could benefit greatly from a change of graphics.

However, I do understand that the Red version is intended as a full remake, so this is more a suggestion for the Blue version, as you're planning to mix some stuff up with that.

Also; The doors don't open when you enter a building, though I'm sure you probably are aware of this already.

Either way, I'm definitely a fan, I don't usually follow ROM hacks anymore but this one has my attention. Good luck!

I know who you are, lol
Thanks for the compliments and suggestions! The feel should be different soon since it'll be on emerald and stuff so maybe that's something to look forward to

I remember when you released the first version, there was suppose to be a Ruby and Emerald version. Or are you only porting to Emerald...?

Those were just compatibility patches, they were not actually hacks on their own. Porting to Emerald means taking what we've got and doing it on another base.

Well I kind of found that out lol, and I know what porting means. lol come on now Not that hard to figure out lol

I have absolutely no clue

Seriously I don't mind if this takes a year or two, probably even more just to completely wrap up. But please, just keep it going, I really love this hack a lot. I'm sure your hack is going to be the main reason why I love Sinnoh/Sinnoh is gonna get promoted as part of my favorites.

It shouldn't take that long if we can get some stuff done.

This hack started at 27 Feb 2014 (according to date creation of the thread), and it's been a year and 5 months.. but I'm glad gogo still works on this! I wish you can really finish this hack soon gogo!!

Yup, progress is a bit slow, but still going. Did a lot of work today. Glad to see you still around :P

Share with us what you did ;) Sometimes I think that you're dead.

I haven't gotten much forward progress done, I've only done some porting etc.
The screenies I've posted have been on RHM, but they've only been of me messing around.
