Introduction
I wasn't planning on making a thread for quite some time but I've hit a wall with ideas so hopefully you guys can help me out. The Dragon Lineage will be my second hack in the works and (like Pokemon Genesis) will have the look and feel of FireRed. I've been wanting to make this hack for quite a while, I've been gathering ideas whilst I was working on my other hack and now I have a pretty clear idea of where I want this hack to go. It will be an Emerald hack mainly because it is the most feature rich game in the Advance Generation and also because I am just sick of hacking FireRed at the moment.

Story
You play as Lance (or Claire), in their childhood, aspiring to become masters of the superior Dragon-type Pokemon that your family guards. It is the day you get your first ever Pokemon, you are extremely excited. Your father takes you into a cave called the Dragons Den to capture a Dragon-type Pokemon for you .Whilst searching for a Pokemon an earthquake occurs. You fall down a hole created by the quake, and find yourself in room housed with statues of Legendary Dragons. As you approach one of the statues, you feel numb, your body slackens and you fall to the ground unconscious.

When you awaken you find a Dragon Pokemon standing above you. You realise that you are able to communicate with it telepathically. With your new Pokemon you find a way out of the cave to be met by your father and grandfather. They tell you that what you went through was a test, a test that all Dragon trainers go through to see if they have what it takes to become great.

As you leave Blackthorn City you find your cousin who also aspires to become a Dragon master and surpass your grandfather as the leader of Blackthorn Gym. And so begins your journey around Johto (and maybe Kanto).

I was thinking of using Emerald or Ruby as a rombase, with FR tiles, but back then I didn't know how to import them. If I did, Moonshine would be Emerald based and would kick ya awl!

Anyway, I like the screens. Your mapping is a lot like mine. Or is mine like yours?
Shame...couldn't you say that's what Lance used to look like? I like the Emerald sprite...x.x

Is it a COMPLETE revamp? Or can you leave some things? Emerald's normal flowers a better than FR's ones, I say.
Hmm...that house, if I'm allowed to say, looks dodgy.

Yeah I think we both follow Nintendo's style of mapping (at least thats what I try to do), not their mapping from the Kanto region in FR (that sucks since they were just revamping it) but the mapiping styles in thee Sevii Islands. Thats where I get most of my inspiration for mapping from.

I've left the Emerald flowers and the small trees as you can see from the screenshots (though they have FR palletes). But yes it will be a complete revamp, this means a revamp of the exclamation boxes, OWs, tiles, trainer sprites, maybe font (but I quite like the Emerald font). Also once I find the offsets the doors as well, which are screwed up at the moment, I'll have to find some time to look for those offsets. But you can bet it'll be a pain in the butt to fix.

Well you won't be able to see everyone from, Johto, for example no Falkner (but his father will be there), no Whitney pretty much no one that looks young. Pryce will obviously still be there.

You don't like Lance?! Ah well, you can always choose Claire instead. Drake dosn't seem all that powerfull to me, he never becomes champion. Although he was my favourite in the Hoenn Elite 4. Besides theres not enough information on him to make a decent story.

I assume you meant this if I change the main character to Drake? They won't really be a team just your rivals.

At least it's not RUBY, with the Non-National dex thing, and emerald clearly has more advantages.

That's why I had about $400 before FINALLY beating Brawly.

Hey, don't worry about being unable to work. I can't work AT ALL for weeks on end due to school. (Stupid high school...)
It's no big deal.

Those small trees look...out of place in FR graphics. They aren't as good as FR ones.
But the flowers are much better than FR ones. :D

Witnessing catastrophic events also sounds awesome. :D Only thing I hope for is that Lance and Claire look good, some of their images aren't exactly... good. Anyway, this indeed looks like another incredible hack in the works, and hopefully your ideas will grow. (b' ')b The screens seem a bit... bland, to be completely honest. Though, I assume that's just your secretive nature. :x As always, give me a buzz if you need some advice/extra opinion~

Urgh, I know, school always gets in the way. Really I like those small trees... I've got the FR ones in my tileset as well so it'll be easy to change if I decide to. Yeah, Emerald flowers look wayyy better.

Thanks, I'm really glad you like my ideas. I've got Keyris working on the sprites and he is a really talented spriter so I'm sure he'll do an amazing job. I'm struggling with ideas at the moment, I've got plenty of them for later on in the game but not too much for the beginning. Yeah, I agree they are some pretty boring screens and I haven't done anything worthy of showing.

Who are you talking to? Beachboy? No-one who has worked on this hack has replyed except me.

I'm really happy at seeeing the amount of support you guys have given me, but I think I made this thread too early. Once I've got the sprites and OWs, I'll open this thread with an Alpha for you guys to try out. But for now could a Mod please close this?
