Pokemart Items Varied between towns

In the first three generations, not all Pokemarts had potions or even Great Balls. For example, in Red/Blue, Viridian City's Pokemon Center did not sell potions, and Lavender Town only sells Great Balls. In later generations, you can buy more items with the more badges you earn. However, certain special Pokeballs could only be bought in certain locations.

Tbh, in the earlier games, I find this a little frustrating. I prefer unlocking new items with the badges you earn far more.

It's definitely a better system now, just makes things a lot more convenient.

Even in USUM you can't find all of the same stuff at every single Mart lol.

I prefer the badge progression in a game standpoint. but if gamefreak will go the realistic way, everything should be available from the start :P

New system is great, but I still have a habit of going to the last available PokéMart when buying something.

I'd actually like it if they went more in the old direction and made what you could obtain in each town a lot more varied. Pokemon never really gives you a reason to return to old areas. Once they're done they're done, and more or less never come up again. It would be nice to have a reason to backtrack and revisit old places - of course, there's a lot of different game design changes they could make to accomplish this, and varied marts is only one of them, but it'd sure be interesting.

Of course, this would only work if Fly was nerfed and it would also be really annoying trying to remember what items are sold where, so maybe for towns you've been to they'd have to add some kind of preview of what items the mart sells there from the map screen.

I know most of y'all have played Gen 7 lol. Every specialty ball is not available at every mart, and the same is with TMs. You'll actually have to travel the entire game to buy them all. Is this just a slight oversight or what, or is this talking about Gen 8 Galar?

I like the whole badge progressions system tbh, feel like it makes a lot more sense and is handy! Although, it is cool having some certain TMs and balls only available at different locations, gives a reason to go back to places you might not otherwise.
