Pokemon: Black Infection [IC]

Meowth let out a sigh of relief after Elisha mentioned purifying. It comforted him to know that the transformation was not necessarily permanent. After all, what if he was victimized? Well first of all there would probably be a lot of scratched faces. Second of all, he'd hate not being himself. Or at least he thought he would. It was kind of hard to judge if he'd even be conscious of such a thing. Yet, Meowth was no genius philosopher. He knew how he felt about it now and didn't really care about how he'd feel about it afterwards. Meowth proceeded to suddenly become exceptionally interested when Elisha spoke of Naren being able to do it. His eyes widened and he gave Elisha this look that was all 'gimme gimme gimme!'.

Meowth: "She can?! ...How does it work..?"

He wanted to learn. Such a secret seemed invaluable. Of course, there was no profit or power to be gained of such things. Yet, it still had uses. After all, what if Elizabeth caught a shadow pokemon herself? He didn't want to deal with an angry shadow pokemon. He had enough problems, like the grumpy one under the table that hits things /really dang hard/.

Elizabeth shifted Elisha in her arms a bit, seeming to be fascinated by what looked like a conversation going on between her and Meowth. Sure she didn't understand a word, but still. Her attention was drawn when Naren suggested they go now.

Elizabeth: "That sounds great..!"

She then paused for a moment, second guessing herself. Bugsy? She got the feeling that was one of those leaders Naren had been talking about. Her confidence wasn't exactly all that great, needless to say.

Elizabeth: "...Do you... think we can win?"

While he was rubbing his lower back, Josh looked up to see a young lady. Next to her was an Absol that had a gaze that could pierce a man in moments. Instead of finishing his sentence, he stood up and bowed his head to her. "S-sorry!"

Clades was trying to help Jess up, but she just told him that she was okay. The boy in front of her scrambled to get himself on his feet and bowed at her. What in the world would he be sorry for? It's not like Jess was paying any attention to where she was going. Wait, was he apologizing for being in the way? Well, whatever it was, seeing Josh made her heart start beating faster; her cheeks turned a little pink, too. She didn't really notice it any, so she just stood herself up. "It's okay, it was my fault. I wasn't watching where I was heading. Please don't apologize for my neglect." She was mostly thinking of what to call her new Aron, and less of what's going on now. Maybe Koko.

Once Joshua looked back up to the girl, Jess' partner took just a short glance before looking at the rest of Ecruteak and could tell immediately that he was in a dumbfounded stare. The kid must be in his mid-teens. He looks the same as the guys at school when they first saw you, Jess.

"No, I wasn't paying any mind to my surroundings. Really, sorry." He bowed his head for another moment, having felt Clades' stare for the split second it was there. It made him feel like cringing.

Clades, what do you think of Shouko?

You don't care at all about the guy in front of you, do you?

Well, we need to give the Aron a name, don't we? But it would probably be a good idea to hold off on that matter for now. The two carried on, leaving Josh looking at the morning sky for a little while so he could think of a way to be nice. He really hated leaving the blame on a good girl. Then it hit him: he can cook, so he could treat her to a meal; and the Absol, too, if it got the stare off. Then it hit him harder: he hasn't introduced himself.

"Oh, right," he started with a palm to his forehead. "I'm Joshua. I live around here."

There's nothing wrong with being polite... "I'm Jessica, and this is Clades." Josh and Clades shot each other a clandestine glare, the former knowing the Pokémon didn't like him, and the latter not liking him.

"If it's alright with you, would you come back to my place with me?" Wait, WHAT? That sounded so freakin' wrong, Jess' cheeks turned rosy red in a millisecond flat, her eyes wide open and her jaw ready to drop. Then poor Joshua got it, and his face turned a bright red as well. "For something to eat! I meant I could make some brunch or something to treat you and your partner to as an apology." Cue massive inner sigh of relief, and a wonderfully executed face-paw from Clades. Hm... come to think of it, the two haven't eaten anything for at least twelve hours. Unable to speak due to shock and unable to get rid of her blushing, Jess just nodded once. It might be nice to have a home-cooked meal, too.

And so, Joshua led a cute young woman back home with him, wondering what to cook up, while the 'young woman' in question was back on the nicknaming thing. Shouko it is!

(OOC: This one's for you Kiyoshi. :P)

Scott

Scott walked down the road. He suddenly felt eyes on him. He turned around when Caelara hissed at something. Scott spotted a small black shape frozen on the side of the road. The small dog looked up at him with piercing blue eyes. Scott identified it as a Poochyena. He had an apple in his mouth. He was standing protectively in front of a small black and white Spinda, an infant Zorua, and a Roselia with odd colored flowers. He growled frightenedly at Scott. Scott took one cautios step forward and the Poochyena with cobalt blue eyes (That is a color. I have a colored pencil that is Cobalt Blue. :P) snapped the apple and tried to swallow it whole. He took a few steps and began coughing a great deal. Scott got worried he was choking on the apple and stuck his hand in the dogs mouth and pulled the apple out. This was a mistake. The Poochyena growled fiercely and his fangs erupted into fire. He bit down hard on Scott's hand with the Fire Fang. A large bloody gash opened on Scott's hand. His hand was also set on fire. Scott yelped in terror and ripped his coat off, and began wrapped the fire retardant material around his flaming hand. Poochyena yipped in fear and Caelara was livid.

Caelara

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-" the dumb mutt said. Caelara growled fiercely at it and blasted him with Shock Wave. The dog yelped at her. And danced back.

"Please don't hurt me sir! I-" he said, and froze when Caelara glared angrily at him.

"You blind little mutt! I'm a girl! Are you really this retarded, or are you trying to mess with me!?" Caelara yelled at him. The dog flinched and took a step back.

"What does retarded mean?" he asked. Caelara wanted to pull her fur out. She wanted to rip his blue eyes out. She growled savagely at him, and was surprised when Celes appeared out of no where and slammed her to the ground.

Celes

Celes burst from her pokeball as Scott was trying to put out the fire on his arm. She ran over and Tackled Caelara before she could kill the pup.

"Ow! You little runt! What was that for!?" Caelara yelled furiously. Celes took up a spot between her and the Poochyena.

"Shut up! You're scaring him! He didn't mean to hurt Master!" Celes said forcefully. Caelara glared angrily at her and began circling her. Celes also began to circle. She fired a Shadow Ball and leapt out of the way of Caelara's Spark. When Caelara landed, Celes Tackled her.

Cobalt (OOC: You know you love him. :P)

Cobalt looked fearfully at the two pokemon fighting each other. The Shinx with the dark blue marks all over her body was clearly outclassed by the little silver Eevee.

"Stop it! Stop fighting!" he yelled scaredly. He ran over to the boy he had bit and set on fire.

"You've got to stop them! Please! I don't want them to fight!" Cobalt said fearfully. The bot felt the same way apparently. He returned the Shinx to her pokeball. He then looked down at Cobalt, who flinched a little.

"Well, you're not so bad after all. Sorry I frightened you little guy. Anyways, you want to come with me? You're pretty tough. And that Fire Fang was devestating!" the boy said, looking at his hand, which had serious burns on it. Cobalt was confused a little bit.

"Wait, you want me to choose?! And what's devestating mean?" he said. The eevee walked up next to him and began licking her paws.

"It means it was really strong," she said helpfully. Cobalt nodded at her. Of course his Fire Fang was strong! He was very proud of it.

"Er... I... Um... I guess I'll go with you..." Cobalt said quietly, trying to be brave. The boy seemed to understand him and tossed a pokeball at him, which sucked him inside.

Elisha was confused. How come the kitty didn't know this? It was common sense or it was to her. THen again, Naren had been to school and had told her things, all of which were very important. SO she tried to see if she could explain. "Uh she got this thingy called the Purification Stone or summat. It takes yer Pokemon when the door to its heart opens again and gets rid of that last bit o Shadow Virus. But ya still gotta open its heart or it ain't gonna work. Naren got her stone from Mr. Bugsy for winnin'. Elizabeth will get one too when she wins." She said this last bit matter of factly. It would never occur to ELisha that losing was a possibility.

Naren gave Elizabeth aquiet look. "I think ya'll 'll do jus' fine," she said slowly, calmly.

Meowth took all the info in. Purification stones, eh? He of course could've never known anything about this. Nobody had conveniently been near him whilst explaining it before. Such would've been an odd sight. Meowth couldn't help to wonder, however, why Bugsy gave them out so freely. Perhaps it was part of that whole save the region thing he'd heard about regarding shadow pokemon. He could see them as becoming a rather dangerous menace. Meowth briefly imagined a world mostly dominated by shadow pokemon and frowned. Yeah, that was a pretty sad image.

Meowth: "I see...! I guess I'm really in for the fight of my life later, huh?"

Meowth sounded a bit nervous finishing his sentence. Sure, he had helped Elizabeth beat random trainers in alleys, but 'gym leader' sounded like a pretty big step up to him.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth seemed to have her fears somewhat soothed and moved over closer to Naren as if to demonstrate her readiness to follow, smiling up at her idley.

Elisha smiled. "Ya can do it," she cheered. "Sure it's hard, but that's what life's all about. We;ll help too... kinda." She crooned at Naren, who nodded. The girl smiled at Elizabeth. She turned off the light quickly and opened the door. Naren snuck herself under the table to gently grab Cubone. That would be rude, leaving the sleeping Pokemon like that.

"Le's go then," Naren stated, walking outside and locking the door behind Elizabeth as she exited. She looked around, searching for a good place to train. "Ah..." She mumbled after a moment. The girl knew just the place for difficult training. "Thisaway," she told Elizabeth, walking forward. It shouldn't be muddy today... She was planning to help Elizabeth outside Union Cave. Bella was still in her arm, sitting there angrily. It would be good training for all of them in truth. The cave was a bit of a risk though.

Elisha squealed softly. SHe couldn't wait! IT was time to battle and prove her power to Naren! She could do it, especially not that it wasn't wet. Bella snorted. She couldn't help but think though... this might not be so bad.

Elizabeth couldn't help but wonder what Naren had meant by 'kinda'. Regardless, she didn't let it worry her. One would think a terrible experience like being thrown through time would make her somewhat less trusting, but it really didn't. She was more or lest perfectly willing to trust this girl she'd only met yesterday. Given, Naren had treated her to some nice hospitality. Not many were willing to simply invite a strange girl who wouldn't even admit to being homeless to live with them. Given, Elizabeth honestly believed she was just lost. Horribly, horribly lost in some far away land.

Cubone abruptly opened her eyes and looked up at Naren as she was being picked up. She had been startled, but by a human. She didn't consider humans dangerous. Elizabeth's still somewhat red, still very sore hand was a testament to how much she could hurt a human if she bothered. To be honest though, she hadn't really been trying all that hard to hurt Elizabeth. Elizabeth was just far more frail than most things she had to hit with a club. She still wasn't sure if she had broken something, but it didn't seem like it.

Meowth looked up, noticing the strange behavior. He then hopped off the counter and ran after Elizabeth. It had appeared they were leaving.

Elizabeth would step outside whilst Naren went to get Cubone, turning around and waiting for Naren. She greeted Naren at the door with her hands cupped in front of her and a friendly smile on her face. Meowth often times found it really hard to believe that this girl wanted to /save the world/ from some evil organization making shadow pokemon. Regardless, she seemed plenty willing to try.

"Alright..!"

Elizabeth responded as she followed along behind Naren, staying quite close as if she were afraid of getting lost. Given, she had no idea where they were going without Naren's help.

Naren merely nodded quietly as she led the way. Her face wasn't impassive, merely encouraging. However, her eyes were showing flickers of both discomfort and calculation. She was trying to figure out how to train Elizabeth without blowing the poor girl down to the ground. She knew how Elisha got when she was fighting. Elisha hated losing, ever, even in games. It was oddly ridiculous for the friendly little Cyndaquil. Bella... well, Bella was a Shadow Pokemon that was slowly being purified. She did not want to risk Elizabeth getting hurt. She seemed frail enough a breeze would knock her over.

Naren led the way carefully, ddging a few people and shyly smiling at a couple of little kids she had met recently, one with a Slowpoke. Her heart fluttered a moment as she saw a certain someone in the crowd... but only a moment, as she looked down and away. She did not want Kiyo to notice her, not now. He was a bit too... exuberant for most people and Naren had a sense that said Elizabeth would have a problem with him.

Making their way out of Azalea, Naren walked ahead quietly. THen she stopped and paused, seeing someone sitting a distance away. "Whozzat?" she muttered to herself. "What d'ya think that kid's doin' there?" she asked Bella, who huffed. Like it mattered to her.

Scott frowned. He needed a doctor. He was bleeding all over his coat, not that it mattered much. His coat was a modified lab coat. Those things were incredibly resistant to stains and flames. He felt pride at that. Orre may have it's flaws, but they made some good clothing there. Still, his hand hurt like ****. He slowly got to his feet and looked down at Celes, who was sniffing the air oddly.

"What are you doing?" Scott asked her. Celes simply looked up at him a moment.

"Vee! Eevee!" she cried, her tail twitching a bit. Scott couldn't understand a word she said. He looked around and saw two girls walking around. As he turned to face them his Shadow Scouter began beeping and activated. Seems that the girl in front had a Shadow Pokemon!

"Yes, I get it! Stupid thing!" Scott said, tapping the scouter irritatedly. If that budew belonged to the girl, there was not a thing he could do about it. So it's not like he needed to know. He shook his head and reached for Celes, but she had already taken off down the road and was sniffing the girl with the Meowth near her. She had an odd scent to her.

"Celes!" Scott said as he ran off after her. He stopped in front of them and Celes returned to his side.

"Um... Sorry about that! Celes can be a little excitable sometimes!" Scott said.

"Vee!" Celes said helpfully. Scott shook his head at her.

Naren glanced at Elizabeth to be sure she wasn't freaking out. Then she glanced at the boy in front of her. Sheepishness, confusion, determination, they stood out at the forefront of the rainbow of this kid's emotional range. The Eevee seemed very cheerful. She quietly glanced at the Pokeballs on the boy's belt, glimpsing faded wisps of darkness around one. A former Shadow Pokemon, like Elisha. THe Cyndaquil let out a cry from Elizabeth's arms, saying hello. Bella said nothing, glaring at the boy with pure hate.

Naren looked down a bit. Great, a new person. As if Elizabeth wasn't awkward (scary) enough. Wait... she peeked up a little. There was pain around him, the odd light centered on one of his hands. What did he do to it? "S' all right," she mumbled, shyness and worry lilting her voice and making her odd way of speaking harder to understand. "Pokemon are like that. Wha' happened to yer hand?"

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was following closely behind Naren in her footsteps, carrying Elisha in her arms. It was just something she did. Personal space did not seem to be an issue for her. Every so often she would look around her at the city life around them. It made her a bit uncomfortable yes, but it wasn't so much that she couldn't handle it. All of a sudden Naren suddenly stopped, and Elizabeth managed to avoid walking straight into her. Who was Naren talking to? Was she talking to Elizabeth? It didn't occur to her that Naren might be talking to her pokemon despite the fact that they couldn't talk back. She looked past Naren to see what she was looking at.

"Huh?"

Suddenly, there was an eevee running at her. Elizabeth was startled at the approach and became nervous when the eevee sniffed her. Did it bite? She didn't know. Elizabeth just sort of shifted uncomfortably a bit, looking down at Celes. Meowth just sort of stared at Celes as she approached, unintentionally invading his personal space. He was tempted to bat at her with one of his paws. Yet, for whatever reason he didn't feel like it at that exact moment.

All of a sudden she noticed a boy approaching them and glanced up at him. The eevee seemed to belong to him, and returned to his side. Elizabeth seemed to relax a bit, though the boy's apology flew over her head due to the language barrier. She came from a time where one usually expressed that it was they that were sorry, as opposed to leaving it implied. Elizabeth looked up at the boy silently, a slightly concerned look on her face, letting Naren do the talking. What was he wearing on his face? She found herself staring at the scouter, at a loss.

Scott sort of frowned a tad bit as he tried to follow along with what the girl was saying. Perhaps if she were speaking slower... Or maybe if she weren't mumbling... Ah well, he couldn't help it. His own Orrean accent could get rough sometimes, but never like this. He tried to follow along, but she was unable to be understood, though he managed to get something about a hand... Maybe his hand? He glanced down at his left hand, still dripping blood and wrapped up in his coat.

"Err... Don'tchu worry 'bout me. My hand jus' got 'bit messed up by my newest pokemon. Nuttin ta worry 'bout!" Scott said, his own accent being drawn out by hearing hers. He cleared his throat and tried again.

"Ahem... What I meant was... I'm ok. My hand was bitten by my new Poochyena... Anyways, my name is Scott. Nice to meet you ladies... Uh... Can I help you with something?" Scott said quietly. That last part had been directed at the girl that hadn't spoken yet. He had noticed her staring at his face... Or, more precisely, the scouter on his head. He took it off and held it up. Not many people had ever seen anything like this before. There was only one in existence after all.

"Oh, this thing? It's my Shadow Scouter. It let's me know when it scans a Shadow Pokemon, like that Budew. It's how I can find 'um an' purify 'um!" Scott said. He put the Scouter back on his head and frowned when it went off again, signifying that the Budew the girl had with her was a Shadow Pokemon. He reached up and clicked the off switch. It was starting to annoy him. But what was really annoying him was how disconcerted he was by these two. He shook it off. Celes walked over and began joyfully rubbing her face on the first girl.

"Vee! Eevee!" she said in greeting when she sat down. She was always happy to meet new people, and these two were friendly enough.

(OOC: Imagine Scott speaking with a Brooklyn style accent. And Scott did apologise directly. That was the first thing out of his mouth. :P)

Naren looked at his hand again for a moment, struggling to speak slowly and not as though she was terrified out of her young mind. He had something that could identify Shadow Pokemon? People couldn't see that violet aura normally? Great, another thing that made her a freak. That boy's accent was interesting. She had heard it while people passed through Azalea before. She decided not to say that and merely nod gratefully about learning something about Bella that she already knew.

Elisha however, had something to say. IT wasn't that mean. "You're silly human," she said promptly, figuring the Eevee below would hear her. "Naren knows that. She is a smart human. She can see stuff all around people, their pretty colors. Of course she knows about Bella and how to help."

Naren tried to form a sentence now. "Erm.. got that..." She hesitated then spoke. "Would ya like me to fix ya up?" she asked slowly, figuring he had no idea what she was saying. No one usually did. "I think I can help yer hand a lil bit, if ya don' mind. I'm Naren..." YEah she was a stupid sunflower. More like a wallflower.

Celes

Celes glanced up at the Cydaquil a moment. She choose her words with care.

"Um... He wasn't saying she didn't know that. That's just how HE does it. Don't be so defensive!" Celes said cheerfully. She sat down between Scott and Naren and looked happily at both of them. Scott was looking confused. Could he not understand her?

"But you are right. He is a silly human! But that's why I love him!" Celes said cheerfully. Scott, however was scratching his head.

"Um...I guess it would be ok," Scott said at last. He slowly unwrapped the coat from his hand and whinced. Celes could see why. His hand had a large cut on the back of it. The whole thing was burned badly. Celes's eyes bugged out when she saw it and her own paw began to hurt as a response to seeing that. She wondered how he was not screaming in agony. Scott was one tough little bugger.

Elisha blinked. "I wasn't defending... I was just saying," she replied. Meanwhile Naren saw the wound and didn't flinch. She could guess it was incredibly painful. She went to her bag and pulled out a tiny water bottle and some aloe vera gel. She knew being gentle was required but doubted he would care too much. Quickly washing it, she carefully rubbed his hand in it.

"Don' move yet," she said softly as she pulled out dressing cloth. She began to wrap the cloth tight enough to stay but still able to breathe around his hand, taking care to wrap individually around his fingers. She stepped away. "There ya are," Naren mumbled. "Tha' all right?"

~~

"Sila... come back," Tyler called softly. That Shadow Squirtle was tough. And Dion looked excited. Dion leapt out without waiting for Sila to fly onto Tyler's head. Dion released sparks everywere as Squirtle charged with Shadow Rush. Then Dion opened his mouth and shot a beam of electricity at the Squirtle, blasting it backward. The Pokemon charged in a Shadow Rush, causing Dion to fall back and flip with his tail.

"Don't screw with me," the opponent snarled hatefully. "I will kill you." An unseen arua of crimson grew around the Pokemon and it launched itself forward, knocking Dion into the fence. Rei remained quiet as Dion rose to his paws, charging and attacking back.

Tyler almost sighed. "Joy."

Elizabeth hecame aware of the fact that she was being spoken to. She just sort of became a bit nervous. She would've rather not have had the attention of a stranger. Naren's kindness had not yet gotten her out of the mindset that everyone was a weird foreigner that didn't understand her. Elizabeth watched as he took off the scouter and explained it. Well, great. It was some magical computer thing. That was how she understood it anyway. Regardless, she had manners. After a moment she would speak up, though she was still quite nervous. The sight of blood really did not help.

"Oh, um... I'm well! Thank you, Scott..!"

She then went back to just sort of hanging out behind Naren, such that Naren would find herself accidentally bumping into Elizabeth as she stepped back. Elizabeth would immediately step back as well, speaking in an apologetic tone.

"Sorry..!"

Elizabeth looked fine, despite the incident. You never knew with frail children like that..had she been even remotely hurt chances were they'd know, though. Meanwhile, Cubone was just sort of hanging around looking rather expressionlessly at her trainer. Meowth on the other hand seemed to be dreaming, as he was staring off into space with a pleasant look on his face.

Wow. He could not understand Naren, and while he understood the other girl, he couldn't get much more than a few words out of her. She seemed very shy. Scott wasn't quite sure what to make of the pair of them. Seemed very unlikely to him. He glanced down at Celes, but she was gone. He whirled around, but he shouldn't have worried. She had simply gone over to the girls and was introducing herself to their pokemon.

"Hi! I'm Celes! Nice to meet all of you!" she said, though Scott could only hear her saying 'Eevee.' He looked at his now bandaged hand and dropped it to his side.

"Um... Thanks. It's nice to meet both of you! Hm..." Scott said, his voice trailing off as Caelara's pokeball quivered on his belt. She wanted to come out and teach all of these strange pokemon that she was the Alpha around here! Scott looked at her pokeball, but decided he didn't want the trouble that she would cause.

Naren shifted slightly. She knew she was screwing this all up. She glanced back toward Elizabeth and smiled a bit. "Is okay... ya'll all right? Ya don' gotta be scared," she told her friend. She could tell this Scott person was unsure of them, probably mostly of her. She looked up at Scott and seemed about to open her mouth but decided against it. Then she saw Caelara's Pokeball and realized she neded to say something. "Erm... yer Pokemon wants to come out. And, um... yer goin' t' the Gym ain'tcha?"

Elisha looked down at Celes. She wanted to go down to greet the Eevee but Elizabeth was uncomfortable. It was best for her to stay here. So she waved a paw instead. "I'm Elisha! And the grumpy plant that Naren's holding is Bella. Hi!" She was well aware of her human's discomfort but knew she wouldn't help. What was that Pokeball's problem? Was the Pokemon in there hungry or something?

Elizabeth nodded quietly to Naren, trying to assure her that she was in fact alright. She then stepped forward, this time taking Naren's side instead. She then proceeded to speak up, though she was still rather reserved in tone. It was completely fair to say that she was in general kind of shy.

"My name's Elizabeth..! I'm not from around here..."

Elizabeth /still/ thought she had just been brought from Jogging to some strange, distant foreign land. Meanwhile, Meowth snapped out of his daydream as he noticed he was being spoken to. Cubone meanwhile regarded the other pokemon with indifference, deciding to ignore the question altogether. She was not all that much of a social butterfly, so to speak.

Meowth: "Hey, thanks! Your trainer has a dog problem. I can't tell you how much I can relate. I mean sure I can climb and outsmart your average pooch, but boy are they stubborn to give up!"

Meowth said that last part with an exasperated tone, silently reminiscing over a time he had been trapped up a tree by one such dog pokemon. It somehow had seemed to think he would come down.

"Nice to meet you Elizabeth! I'm not from around here either... I came from Orre... Anyways, Yeah, I was planning on challenging the gym leader. But I don't think it's a good idea to bring Caelara out right now. She's not as sweet tempered as Celes over there is!" Scott said after he figured out what Naren was going on about. He was feeling a little more confident, but he still had no idea just what Naren was going on about half the time. He was even a little pleased to have met a few of the local trainers, even though there were dressed oddly. But then again, he considered everything that wasn't the typical Orre fashion a little odd. He himself was probably oddly dressed to the two of them. He looked at Celes, who was trying to get a response from the Cubone, who seemed indifferent.

"Come on, why won't you say anything? Are you broken? I just want to say hi!" Celes said to the Cubone, walking around her with big wide gray eyes. She wanted to talk with this Cubone. She wanted to be friends! So why wasn't the cubone answering her?
