Pokemon: Black Infection [IC]

(Oh yes I do know.)

Naren

Naren awoke as she usually did: with the fireflies in her eyes. She blinked and they began to clear. Someday she would wake up without seeing the firefly dream. The sunflower girl had seen it for years; it still scared her. Sighing she rolled out of bed. Bella was instantly awake, launching herself at Naren with the fury of a shadow Pokemon. Naren stepped away to quickly catch her and return her to her ball. IT wasn't that she didn't love Bella. She already did, just she didn't want her mother to think there had been a robber here.

She went tothe kitchen and quietly started to cook. Elisha would wake up on her own and hopefully Elizabeth would as well.

Tyler

"You're the first person to find me here." The statement was calm, unconcerned, stated from a female voice with a masterful deadpan. It was the Gym Leader of Cerulean, Rei, sitting at Cerulean Cape and watching her Milotic soar in the air. She didn't glance up at Tyler's staring form, the boy brushing his white-blonde hair from his eyes. "Should I be impressed?"

"I see you are quite young," Tyler replied. "Should I be impressed?"

"You should be worried for the adults," she replied promptly. "There are too many children in this business."

"The adults are off fighting a war," the male commented quietly, glancing up at the sky, where the sun was rising.

"True," she agreed quietly. "Now, boy, I do believe you did not hunt me down for small talk."

"Of course not," Tyler replied as Dion made his way over. "You know perfectl well why I am here Miss Rei."

"THen shall we begin?"

"Of course. Ready Sila?" His Butterfree flew up to face a Squirtle. Tyler felt his whole body twitch. A different one? A shadow? Who knew?

"Squirtle," Rei ordered emotionlessly. "Decimate." The young Pokemon leapt to obey, a Water Gun bursting from its mouth. Sila tackled through it, slammed back into a fence post with wet wings.

"Joy," Tyler remarked coolly. "A challenge."

Geoff woke up pretty comfortably. Felt like he got Abra-level sleep. Absol woke up a little afterwards, stretching himself out on the bed like a cat as his trainer took a bath. Hey, Absol.

Yes?

Ready to get that Shadow Pokémon like we were told to?

Anytime.

After the short conversation as if it was completely normal for one to be in the bathroom at any point in time during said conversation, Jess came out in her tee, skirt and socks and looked at her partner.

You smell like cherries, Clades commented.

I know.

Why? She didn't answer. She just smiled at her partner, quite sadistically, while holding up a brush.

No. Jess crept closer to Clades, who was backing up into a corner. No, no, no. NOOOOOOOO! All he got for in reply was a very clear, very evil, and possibly perverse, "Yes." Anything heard by someone outside the room was just yelps and screams, and soon enough, the screaming stopped and the two were sitting on the bed, Jess now fully dressed.

Now that wasn't so bad, Absol, was it? Clades' fur was practically sparkling to the morning light now, contrary to the dirty pelt from the night before.

Easy for you to say. The Pokémon's 'downer' face didn't exactly match his shining fur now.

Jess turned on the television and started flipping channels until they found a public service announcement; the screen showed a large banner with warning text on it.

-----

"The following is a public service announcement provided by Tohjo News for the safety of viewers everywhere." The banner faded out and showed a laboratory, and the anchorwoman of the news program standing next to a man in a lab coat with bandages around his head and a sling around his left arm. The anchorwoman spoke first.

"Hello, I'm Ancha with important information for your safety and comfort. There is a killer on the loose in Kanto at the moment, and their whereabouts are unknown. With us is Pokémon Professor Samuel Oak, eyewitness and lucky survivor of the first known attempted murder. Professor, could you tell us what you know about the person who tried to kill you?"

Oak started to speak after Ancha asked the question. "Weird looking hair--it's not normal looking, if you know what I mean. Um... did he wear glasses? I don't remember. Wore... stripes? Or plaid, either one. That was for his shirt or pants, I think. Both shirt and pants had interesting patterns on them though. Or at least the pants. Er- Not tan? Or something. Was with someone... someone... um, reddish. Red on them somewhere. Oh! Red hair, that was it! ...or was it shirt? Ugh. That second person was a... girl? Maybe a guy with long hair. Some guys are doing that nowadays, right?" The man was obviously disoriented. "Oh!"

"Did you remember something, Professor?"

"Yes! It was a man!" The silliness made even Clades want to facepaw. "And when I finally noticed it, my Charmander egg was gone! The man's a thief, too!"

"Let's hope trainers and civilians alike can be on the lookout for this man and his accomplice. This has been Ancha with the Tohjo News Public Service Announcement. We'll be back to your scheduled programming after this commercial break." The screen faded back into the PSA banner before changing to a commercial for LifeAlarm. Professor Oak was laying at the bottom of a staircase.

-----

"Help!" Oak shouted on-screen. "I've been pushed down the stairs and I can't get up!"

An announcer started talking off-screen, voicing over the rest of the video. "This has happened to everyone one time or another. People who've been pushed down the stairs and are stuck helpless on the floor can get horrible pains, but LifeAlarm can help. Simply press the button on our patented LifeAlarm Necklace, it will send out an incessant and annoying air-horn sound, and one of our respondents will dispatch a team to reach you immediately." The screen switched to a middle-aged woman wearing the necklace. It looked like a freakin' seat-belt clip.

"Without LifeAlarm, I was nothing more than a paperweight if I was pushed down the stairs, but now I can pull dangerous stunts with my friends involving my concrete stairs anytime I want and not have to worry about simply laying there waiting to die!"

Within moments, it overlaid a foggy-white screen with red wording on it. Some of it was a phone number that was blurred out, the rest saying 'Call LifeAlarm today to see if your medical insurance will support you having LifeAlarm, or visit our website at NoNeedToWorryWithLifeAlarm.com!'

The television was turned off. So, our first order of business is to get that Shadow Pokémon. It might help us with the gym leader here to have another team member. Without missing a beat, Jess and Clades checked out of the inn and was interrupted before they could leave for the Burned Tower by a teenager. The young man stopped in front of Jess and Clades, taking a moment to catch his breath.

"I'm glad I could reach you. Falkner sent me." Falkner? Did he want a rematch already?

"What does he need?" After another second or two of breath-catching, he stood straight up and pulled a rock out of his pocket. "Is... that a rock?"

"Purify Stone, to be exact." A closer look and the stone was gleaming a bit in the light. "They purify Shadow Pokémon that are able to re-open their hearts." Jess took the stone and nodded her head to the man, who immediately turned away and ran back to Violet City.

Since that little interruption has passed, let's head off.

Scott woke up bright and early the next morning. He yawned out loud and sat up, feeling something go tumbling down his chest and landing in his lap.

"Vee!" Celes yowled angrily, with half a yawn as she glared up at him from where she fell. He pet her silver fur and she calmed down. How did she get there? He had left her in her pokeball when he went to sleep. She climbed to the ground and trotted into the bushes as Scott got to his feet. He looked around and saw that Cadas had taken over Caelara's basket.

"Rise and shine Cadas," Scott yawned. Cadas looked sleepily at him.

"Gib..." he said. Scott picked him up and set him on his shoulder. He stuck the basket on his bag as Celes returned to the campsite. She had an apple in her mouth and began to eat it. Scott pulled his own breakfast out, a small bag of chips. Not the healthiest thing to eat, but he didn't care. After he was done he began his usual routine of excercises to keep himself in shape. No way he was going to beat Cipher if he wasn't in good shape. After he was done he called out Caelara, who blinked up at him.

"Alright, you three need training too! Get into gear! Come on!" Scott said, hyped up now that he was awake. Celes was used to his routine and began following his commands no problem. Cadas yawned, but joined in sleepily. Caelara gave him this dusgruntled look.

"Shinx," she said sleepily. Scott smiled and poured a little bit of water on her head. She jumped back, hissing at him.

"Awake now?" Scott asked with a smile on his face. Caelara frowned at him, hissing again and joined in the training. Scott laughed a little, wondering how often he'd have to pour a little water on her. He might need to get a spray bottle! Because she really didn't like that!

"Gah, what the crap? Scott, you're already up?" Brandon said as he got to his feet. Scott smiled and nodded. He had always been an early riser. After a few more minutes he called an end to the speed training he had been giving them.

"Alright, I need to go talk to Falkner. I'll see you around Brandon!" Scott said. He set out for Violet City. Brandon packed his stuff up and followed him. Scott didn't really care. The kid was pretty good, but Scott had no time to waste. He had to get moving again. He walked up to the gym and Falkner greeted him.

"Good morning. I hope you slept well," Falkner said quietly. Was he the one responsible for locking Scott out last night? Bah! Scott tossed him the pokeball with the Tranquill.

"Here's the shadow pokemon. I can't handle one of that level, so congrats on your new pokemon. I have to go to the next gym now," Scott said. He walked away before Falkner could say anything, smiling with delight as he heard Brandon challenge the gym leader to a battle before he could call Scott back. He made his way to the pokemon center and healed his team up. He then left the city and set out for the next one, hoping that something interesting happened on the road there.

Elizabeth stirred in her sleep, her mind subconciously already aware of the smell of food. It would take her a bit, but she'd wake up. At first she didn't remember where she was. Yet, it quickly came back to her. She simply laid there on the bed for a few moments, looking at Meowth and taking the moment to be amazed at the fact that 'Holy crud, I slept on a bed!'. She took a deep breath and let it out as a satisfied sigh, closing her eyes. She felt Meowth get up and stretch for a moment before hopping off the bed. It took her a bit longer to wake up enough that she began to realize she was hungry and could smell food. She slowly sat up and stretched her arms before sliding out from under the covers and letting her legs dangle over the side of the bed for a moment before sliding off onto her feet. She brushed her dress off before going to wake a still sleeping Cubone by tapping the pokemon on her shoulder. Cubone just sort of cracked her eyes open and made a groaning sound. She wasn't a morning person. Elizabeth giggled at this before going to open the door and--oh snap! She was face to face with her arch nemesis, the doorknob. Cubone just sort of sat there and watched her trainer struggle with the doorknob for a minute or two before finally being able to open it. Cubone meanwhile was making grumpy sarcastic marks about how incredible this was. Meowth was present this time, and so the two promptly started arguing with Meowth trying to explain the whole 'She's from the past' deal. Meanwhile, Elizabeth had finally gotten the door to open and walked out. "Phew!"

Meanwhile, Cubone and Meowth began to follow along, slowly.

Elizabeth would follow the smell to it's source, the kitchen. She peeked in, spotting Naren. Was this breakfast? She was eager to find out, so she invited herself in, walking into the kitchen with her hands folded in front of her.

"Good morning Miss Naren!"

Oddly enough, she was addressing Naren as she might an adult. It was her way of trying to show Naren respect, though in classical context she might've preferred to use a last name. Regardless, she seemed pretty cheery, though the sound of a bickering Meowth and Cubone could be heard in the next room.

Naren glanced up and managed a small smile. "Mornin' Elizabeth," she greeted softly, continuing her careful mixing. Her hair was wet, Naren having been in the shower not too long ago. Elisha cried a greeting from the kitchen counter. She had an Oran Berry and was happily eating it. Bella, the silly Budew, was sulking in the sink and didn't greet the girl. For a Shadow Pokemon, Bella was very different. It was likely because of the shrine. Bella was sitting in the sink, which was full of dirty water. The Pokemon had just been bathed and had obviously disliked the event.

"Ya'll are just in time," she said softly, plating the scrambled eggs. "I just finished making it." She moved the plate to add some sliced sausages and melon pieces. She placed a plate on the table for Elizabeth to take, along with a fork. She then packed the rest of the sausage away after plating her own. Her mother would appreciate the gesture... nah. Naren didn't try to figure out what the meat was anymore. It brought her some nightmares that she really didn'y need to add to her own. Without going to eat, she began to wash the cooking dishes. Bella humphed and leapt onto a towel now, still sulking.

"So..." she offered to Elizabeth. Naren was not going to comment on being called Miss. That was her way of being polite. It would be rude to tell her to do otherwise. "Any clue why yer Pokemon are goin' at it out there insteada eatin'?"

Elizabeth noticed that Naren's hair was wet, but made no comment. It wasn't her place. Elizabeth looked over at Elisha curiously, not having gotten used to her to the point that she would've recognized her cry by sound alone. Yet, she recognized the pokemon quite plainly from the sight of her. Elizabeth moved over and reached over to pat Elisha. For the moment, she was a pretty happy person. It was as if she had momentarily forgotten about how screwed up her life kind of was.

After taking the moment to pat Elisha, she became aware of the fact that food was ready via Naren telling her. Now, Elizabeth wasn't a very hard pallet to please. Food scarcity had taught her not to be too picky. Besides, she /liked/ eggs and sausages. Melon pieces were nice too. Elizabeth was pretty aware of her hunger, and so she abruptly moved over to the table and took her plate. Before she could actually eat though, Naren asked her a question. Elizabeth stopped to think about it. Why /weren't/ they in here eating? Meowth liked eating, but was a bit picky, as well as having a small appetite. Cubone on the other hand she had no idea.

"I don't know..!"

She looked over at the entrance to the room Meowth and Cubone were in.

Elisha let out a happy chirping noise. She loved being pet. Affection was nice, very nice. Naren smiled at her merry Pokemon. She could tell Elizabeth was hungry and judging by her aura, this meal was a very good choice indeed. She noted to herself to make it in the future. Maisy had made it for her and the woman's son, who practically inhaled the stuff. She filed away the though of the boy. They were just friends right now, and at the moment, that was all they needed to be. After all of this, maybe...

She looked at Elizabeth and smiled lightly. The girl seemed happier, like less of the weight was on her small shoulders. Letting her stay with her had worked wonders after all. Naren was glad. She hoped it would go this well in training. She decided to let the girl eat and took some fruit on a plate. "Ya'll go ahead and enjoy. I'll get yer buddies to chow down." She went to the room to witness the two arguing. "What is with ya? There's breakfast." Hoo boy, being excitable was hard.

Elizabeth smiled at Naren lightly before turning to her food and beginning to eat. She found that it was as good as she had expected. Food. That occupied her attention for a bit. After she had eaten some though and she didn't feel as hungry, her mind began to drift to other things. She still felt an aching hole where her parents had used to be, as well as some culture shock from having been taken somewhere foreign to her. Yet... right here she had been given a place to stay and a friend that was taking care of her, sort of like her parents had used to do. Not being a very untrusting person, Elizabeth had been pretty quick to warm up to Naren. A thought occurred to her, and she glanced at Elisha briefly, as it somehow related to the cyndaquil.

Meanwhile, Naren would find Cubone looking rather grumpy and Meowth somewhat frustrated. They seemed to be talking to eachother. Cubone was waving her bone club at Meowth as if to make a point. When Naren spoke up Meowth turned his head and looked at her blankly before glancing at Cubone, giving her a rather annoyed look before Meowth ran off into the kitchen. Cubone just sort of regarded Naren blankly, not really understanding what she was saying. Yet, after a moment she followed along after Meowth at a much slower pace. She was just still waking up, and in a rather grumpy mood.

Putting away the Purification Stone , Jess and Clades made off for the Burned Tower. It wasn't a very tourist-adored place anymore... not like there were many tourists to see it now. The place had fallen into disrepair long ago from a fire, and never changed since, but it hasn't been cleaned for a few years. It's gotten to be really dusty. Perfect home for a ghost-type or trash-lover.

The girl's first steps creaked the floors, and cracked a few floorboards, but nothing too serious like falling through. A few heavy steps came from somewhere else in the building; lower down. Great. I take a bath just to come to a dusty old tower; gonna need another one later. Alright, Clades, let's get this over with. With a sigh and another creak of the floor, the two ventured down into the bowels of the tower.

When they reached the bottom? A speeding figure zipped by and hid behind some broken boards. The two tried to get closer and it darted away again, this time bolting right under Clades and tripping him before hiding behind another group of boards. Looks like I brushed your fur for nothin', Jess sighed as the Absol lifted itself back up, now covered in dust.

This damned place needs some serious TLC. I think the tower's been unmanaged for long enough now. Clades finally added in his own opinion of the place when the boards crashed down and left the figure screeching in the dark. Poor thing must have gotten itself trapped, so the pair went up to take a look. Clades wanted to pummel the thing for making him slip up.

Underneath the broken wood, they found an Aron with blazing white eyes struggling and flailing to get out. It didn't look as feisty as other Shadow Pokémon, but it was definitely one of them; it was the only Pokémon here, and they were told that it was resting here. "Aw," Jess started as she leaned down to get a closer look, "it's cute! Clades, help me get these boards off." The Aron gave up then and there, believing it was the end, and calmed down.

Clades ripped the boards away from the Aron and it immediately bolted into Jess' arms once it could move freely again. "Aw, It's just scared. But Shadow Pokémon don't have emotions, so it can't really be scared, right?" It took a little while, but they figured out why some Shadow Pokémon don't attack on sight: some of them just want to survive. "Use Shadow Claw a bit, Clades." The Absol did as he was told, his paw emanating a thick purple aura. The little steel-type flailed at the sight and headbutted Jess right in the chin until the Shadow Claw knocked it out. Jessica pulled out a Pokéball next and tapped the Aron's head as it laid limp against her, sucking it into the container. A few short wiggles later and the Pokéball stopped moving.

With a loud giggle and happy cheer, Jess stood up and rubbed Clades' head, elated about both the new catch and the fact that they didn't have to stay in this unkempt tower anymore (though she'd need to clean Absol again later). She ran back up to the door and joyfully jogged out, Clades close behind, until she'd rammed into someone and landed on her rear end once again. Before she could apologize, the person she bumped into half-yelled at her.

"Hey, watch where you're...!"

Joshua

"Alright. Today's the day." A young man was talking to a Pokéball on his bed, which held his ever-faithful Scyther, Stryke. They were going to hunt down Cipher for kidnapping his parents, though mostly because it pissed him off, not because his parents were kidnapped. Not the best idea when it came to Joshua, since you practically made your death wish at that point. He'd taken some time to study his parents' left-over research on purification since their kidnapping, and he can convey his emotions now stronger than normal trainers, even to another's Pokémon. He could essentially turn Cipher's Shadow Pokémon against them. "Imagine seeing a Pokémon attacking its trainer on their opponent's command, Stryke." The Pokéball wiggled at the notion, as if the snickering Pokémon inside never turned on his trainer before.

He'd need to get some help though, and Red was a legend. He could wipe out the group with one blow. So, cockier than he'd normally look, Joshua stepped out from his home into the rest of Ecruteak City, six Pokéballs strapped to his belt loops. He walked to the Pokémon Center first, telling the nurse that he would be leaving for a while. Joy was a bit saddened, since Joshua and Stryke were one of her most frequent visitors, but she knew what was going on. "Come back soon!" she said. He waved a half-friendly, half-determined good-bye to his neighbors next, then walked by the Tin Tower and the Burned Tower to gaze on them one more time before he left. Though, when he turned to leave from the Burned Tower, he heard a cheer from inside.

He turned back to the tower, and just before he could take a step to see what was in there, he was bumped into and knocked down. "Hey, watch where you're...!"

Elisha quilled curiously at her, looking cheery. She didn't understand this girl. Naren made plenty of sense but Naren was her trainer! Of course she made sense! She waved at Elizabeth before making an odd noise at Bella, who was scowling threateningly at Cubone. She was clearly not a morning Pokemon either.

Naren chuckled softly. It was too early in the morning to argue as far as she was concerned. She went back inside, cleaning up some more before starting to eat. "YEr thinkin' hard," she told Elizabeth. "Ya'll gonna be all right?" Inwardly, Naren knew the girl would be able to handle herself. Elizabeth had survived pretty long, maybe at the fringes, she guessed, but it had happened. THe real difficult task was to help Elizabeth herself realized it. Bella gave a strange little growl at Naren and the girl obediently returned her. Antisocial bulb.

Elizabeth noticed the gesture and smiled at Elisha lightly. What a friendly pokemon! Perhaps Naren would let her hold said pokemon sometime. She returned to her eating, glancing briefly at Cubone and Meowth as they entered. Meowth walked over to the counter and promptly jumped up nearby Elisha. Meowth was a decent jumper, needless to say. He then sat nearby and looked around. Guy had a fair amount of pride, and it passively showed in his posture. When he spoke, his tone was that of someone who was just chilling out. He had detected a rather sour Budew and decided that the Cyndaquil would be much less likely to try and maul him should he say hello.

Meowth: "Morning."

Meanwhile, Cubone just sort of narrowed her eyes silently at Bella, glaring as if in warning of great consequences. She was not a morning pokemon, as everyone had already figured out, and promptly moved over to hide under the table near Elizabeth's feet. Elizabeth glanced at Cubone again when she came over to the table. After a moment she would get down and pick Cubone up, picking the grumpy pokemon up and setting said pokemon on her lap as she resumed eating. Cubone looked a bit annoyed by the gesture, but made no complaint, instead opting to sit there and watch Elizabeth eat. Elizabeth of course did not have any pokemon food on her. She had in the past fed her pokemon human food. That being said Meowth's diet was a bit poor. Regardless, he seemed perfectly healthy, though there had been a time or two he'd gotten sick from eating food meant for humans.

Elisha glanced at the cat who jumped on the counter next to her. Quite the agile one. She peered oer at Naren, who was quietly eating now. Hm... Naren still seemed sleepy. And wet. But whatever on the wet part. Elisha herself was always wet after baths. It was gross, especially if Naren didn't dry her fur fast enough. Wet fur smelled gross. Oh the cat was talking to her. Better respond then. He acted and sounded like a cool customer, though to Elisha that was always debatable.

"G'morning," she greeted. "How are ya?" Unfortunately, the little fire creature also spoke like her human when she spoke in her own language. Some words were slightly slurred and accented differently. It was incredibly odd because no one sounded just like Naren, rather, she had picked up each other their quirks and adapted them.

Bella glared at Cubone. She really wanted to beat the little rock creature up but in this cramped place neither would do very well. She felt rage and darkness overwhelming her as it had many times at home. She wanted to attack, hurt...

"Bella," Naren mumbled through her napkin. THe rage vanished almost at once and Bella stared. How in Celebi's soul had she known that? She hadn't even been looking. Naren glanced up at Elizabeth. "If ya want, you can carry Elisha. Just don' startle her. Her back will flare up."

Meowth didn't seem to be bothered by how Elisha spoke. Unlike Elizabeth he had a much more modern way of speaking and could thus understand her pretty easily. His own way of speaking would doubtlessly come off as cat-like to others. After all, he was a cat.

Meowth: "Fine, fine."

Meowth glanced down at Cubone, and then at Bella.

Meowth: "Having new roommates is hard though. What's wrong with her?"

Meowth made a gesture in Bella's general direction with one of his claws, which seemed to have been conveniently extended out of his paw for effect. He seemed to be more curious than anything else.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth seemed impressed by the fact that Naren seemed to be able to understand her so well, even though she had already seen this multiple times. Elizabeth hastily finished her breakfast before standing up and moving over to the counter where Elisha was sitting. She just sort of raised her arms and held them out to Elisha as if expecting her to hop on. She had this big smile on her face, apparently pretty excited about being allowed to carry the cyndaquil.

Meowth suddenly turned his attention to Elizabeth when she held out her arms. That was something she had learned to do from him, because he liked to be able to say no when he didn't want to be picked up. Normally, he would've taken this as her wanting him to jump in her arms, but in this case it seemed like her attention wasn't on him at all. Huh.

Elisha shrugged at Meowth. "She's got that virus or somethin'. Naren said it's milder than it should be but she's still a big grump." She snorted cheerfully, seeing Bella now glowering at her "But she;ll get better! Naren'll get 'er fixed right up!" She saw Elizabethopen her arms to her and frowned, glancing at her trainer, who nodded. At this, ELisha let out the happiest squeal and leapt to tackle Elizabeth in a hug.

Naren smiled at this, the move quiet as she lifted Bella into her arms. She did not want her POkemon running off. SHe cleared the table with one arm, letting the dishes soak. "She warm and fluffy?" she asked Elizabeth, seeing the happy look on her Pokemon's face even as Bella grumbled in her grip. "Silly bud," she mumbled, causing it to growl and glare for a second.

Meowth seemed to become thoughtful at this, raising his paw to his chin as if to imitate a human expression of wonder. His tone spoke of very mild skepticism and curiosity.

Meowth: "A virus, huh?"

Now, Meowth had never heard anything about a 'virus' making pokemon grumpy. Sure, he understood humans and had heard of shadow pokemon before, but never as having them described as being infected by a virus.

Meanwhile Elizabeth was surprised when Elisha suddenly leapt at her. Given, Elizabeth was pretty light and frail compared to most people even her age. She was promptly knocked off balance as she caught Elisha in a hug... She fell on her bottom, but didn't appear to be hurt. Rather she giggled as she hugged the small but energetic pokemon. When she replied, she seemed pretty cheerful.

Elizabeth: "Uh-huh"

Naren smiled quietly. Elisha sure was strong for her size. Or maybe it was just the fact that she enjoyed flying into people. It was practically an art. WHen she evolved, it would certainly be interesting. Bella grumbled and settled back into her human's arms, still growling. SHe had no idea what her human could do and at this point, did not care. She just was tired of resisting and getting hurt. THe rage in her head wanted her to live after all.

Meanwhile, Elisha squirmed around to Meowth and replied. "That's what makes Pokemon all shadowy. The virus. They get all angry and scared and just want to destroy everything. THeir hearts are all closed off." Elisha herself had only vague memories of being infected. She didn't actually know. Naren didn't feel like telling her just yet.

Scott decided it was time to head for the next gym. He walked down the road until he came to a cave. This place was called Union Cave. Hm... Might as well check it out. He walked inside, and smiled. It was damp, dark, and murky. Just like a cave should be. He smiled and began walking through the cave, wondering what he would find. Turns out, there wasn't much to find in here. Anything of value was long gone by now. He examined a funny looking rock, and jumped in shock when it yelled at him.

"Geodude! Geodude!" the pokemon yelled and he dropped it, frightened half to death.

"Gah! What the crap?! Oh, it's just a pokemon. Cadas! Let's go!" Scott said, sending out his little dragon. Cadas looked up at him confused. It was just a rock...

"Dude! Geodude!" the Geodude yelled, sending poor Cadas into Scott's arms. Scott frowned at the geodude and set Cadas back down. The Geodude charged at Cadas with a Tackle.

"Iron Head!" Scott yelled, and smiled with delight as Cadas knocked out the evidently very weak Geodude with one blow. He picked Cadas up and continued into the cave.

(OOC: Have a short post. :D)

Elizabeth stood back up, cuddling Elisha in her arms. She beamed down at the cyndaquil for a few moments before glancing at Meowth. Cubone meanwhile was still hiding under the table, trying to get five more minutes of extra sleep or something of the sort. She couldn't actually get back to sleep though, as all the noises of others talking was keeping her away. Yet, she had her eyes closed.

Meowth: "Oh! Shadow pokemon? I didn't know those were safe for humans to keep."

Meowth seemed to puzzle over this for a moment. He had only heard of shadow pokemon, not seen them. Or at least, he didn't think he had seen any. How would he even know if he had?

Meanwhile, something occurred to Elizabeth. She had been so absorbed in having a home and someone to take care of her that she had forgotten that they were supposed to be training their pokemon today. This train of thought lead her to realize she had subconsciously compared this home with her home back in her own time and being taken care of by her mother. The comparison of Naren to Elizabeth's mother caused her to think about it further. With her new expanded understanding of what a mother could be she guessed it made sense. Yet, a part of her still wasn't sure. Elizabeth turned her head to look at Naren.

Elizabeth: "Um... Miss Naren? When do we leave to train..?"

Elisha nodded. "They aren't really but good trainers can purify them and stuff! Naren can do that now too! They're usually really scary too! THey are really hard to tame but when they are, ya'll can do cool stuff with 'em." She paused a minute. "Well, it ain't that safe but laws can't stop people from doin' what they wanna do." Elisha glanced at Bella, seeing the dark markings on her bulb. "You know 'em because htey look all different from other Pokemon. They got funny markings 'n stuff, like Bella. Course, Naren just knows that stuff but that makes her see the fireflies too. THe fireflies are weird se says."

Elisha was being a bit braggy about her trainer but she couldn't help it. She believed Naren was the best and no one could tell her otherwise. It came out a mixture of irritating and adorable. No one knew how it worked.

Naren paused from calming down her raging Budew, smiling slightly at the sight of Cubone below attempting to sleep. Poor critter. The girl glanced up at Elizabeth to answer. "Hmm, how 'bout now?" she offered. "Bugsy'll want to fight ya in the afternoon if yer ready. And we need all the trainin' we can get."

"God **** Mother****ing Zubat!" Scott yelled angrily, waving his hands about trying to get the things off of him. Cadas was just standing there looking terrified of the bats that were swarming around Scott. Scott pulled out Caelara's pokeball and called her out.

"Shock Wave these stupid things and get them off me!" Scott said as one of the bolder ones bit him in the back of the neck. Caelara growled and blasted Scott, and the Zubat, with her powerful electric attack. Scott hit the ground, stunned by the electricity running through him. It was like being hit by a tazer. She had not been holding back. The Zubat all flew away... The ones that weren't likewise impaired. Slowly, Scott began to regain control of his muscles. He got to his feet and leaned against the wall of the cave. This was beginning to really get on his nerves. He rubbed his neck where he had been bitten and groaned. Anyone that saw that might think he had a hickie. That would not be good. He turned the collar on his coat up in an attempt to hide the bite. He glanced down at Caelara and Cadas.

"Thanks Caelara," Scott said. She was glowing faintly, and growled at him a little bit. But, having gotten her revenge for him dumping water on her this morning, she calmed herself down and flicked her tail at him dismissively. Scott slowly turned his head to look at a large mushroom growing off the wall next to him. Funny, how the heck was...

"Gah!!!" Scott shouted, jumping several feet and landing on his rear, which caused Cadas to squeel in fright and Caelara to hiss angrily. Scott had been startled when the mushroom had abruptly opened it's eyes and moved. The Parasect, as he now identified it, scurried away in fright.

"****ing caves!" Scott yelled angrily, ready to get out of here. He got up off the ground and dusted himself off. He turned to his pokemon.

"Gib!" Cadas cried as he ran to Scott and began clinging to his leg. Caelara turned and looked down the path they had been following. Scott was ready to get out of here! He bent down and picked Cadas up and began walking toward the exit, Caelara leading the way. Soon, but not soon enough, he emerged into sunlight. Nice, warm, bright sunlight. He was glad that there were no cave systems like this in Orre. That would be a nightmare! He turned and began walking down the road to get to the town... And the next gym.
