Pokemon Count.

I always max out my six slots. Sometimes I find pokemon I want to use for a while in-game, so may I go up to actively using 8-9 pokemon, swapping them around.

I use all of my 6 team slots in Pokemon games. By the time I reach the Elite Four, I always make sure I can cover every type.

wow, I nvr thought of having less than 6 lol. I guess it's cuz ever since gen 1 the idea is, there are 6 slots, so you must fill all of them in order to be playing the game correctly. But it does make sense to have less to make them stronger. Ill have to try 3 or 4 some day!

I always fill the available six slots when playing.
The minimum number of Pokémon I use would be six, the maximum has been nine back in Pokémon Black version.
I spent a lot of time inside Victory Road training before I had the team I wanted to take with me to the Elite Four strong enough.. ¬¬

I always tend to find myself with 5 Pokemon by the time I take on the League. I usually have an HM slave with me, and even keep it in the party for the League battles. That one free turn of healing has helped me on so many occasions.

I'm currently playing Fire Red and using 4 Pokemon now.

Nidoking, Charizard, Vaporeon and Raichu. You don't really need any more for this game. I was gonna add a Gengar, but I'm playing on a ROM and didn't wanna go through all that. When I finish this and maybe start a HG run, I'll probably end up using 6.

Nowadays I go for around 5 with the sixth being an HM slave for HMs I don't want to teach to my main party. Occasionally I do grab a full 6, though, making sure I teach the most important moves (Surf, Fly Strength) to someone.

Never again will I go back to my PC and exchange 'mons just because I don't have the right HM ugh.

I like to very, very slowly make my way to having a full team of 6. I usually get a solid 3 members before or right around the first gym. And then every couple of badges, I add a new pokemon. I also like to delay my evolutions so that they evolve by the time they get to the final gyms... try to get an anime feel to the games. :P

In Black 2, I only had 4 team members, hoping it would make the game more challenging. What I didn't realize was that it just made my pokemon level up more quickly as I didn't have to distribute experience between as many pokemon. With XY's formula, I guess this would make it more difficult now... but I didn't have as much fun with just 4. :(

I try to keep a variety of types in my party and the only time I do rotate them for use is when the battle calls for it. Otherwise, I continuously switch them out only for the experience XD My starter in X was more than capable enough to take on any Pokemon because of how much I over levelled it.

I've gradually increased the number of Pokémon I use in my team. When I first played Red, I just used Blastoise. In Gold, I developed a team of 5, but I only finished adding the last few members after I beat the game. More recently, though, I've found that I've tended to use more than six Pokémon at a time, and I rotate them in and out. In BW, I trained most of the Pokémon I caught (thanks to the experience mechanics that made it easy to level up low-level Pokémon), and in X, I have a team of 10-12 main Pokémon that I used in-game (with lots of additional ones bred competitively since beating the Elite Four).

I always have 6. Three that I'll be training or playing catch-up with. One False Swiper for catching 'mons (Pinsir this time), and two trump cards just in case/have no patience and curb stomp everything.

My typical amount seems to be about four or five. I neeeed at least one slot for an HM buddy because I hate putting TMs like flash and cut and whatnot on my party pokemon, and I hate depositing a party member temporarily just for something else that knows the move. Plus having a full team of six just feels a bit too much for me usually, I usually get too behind in training and grinding each and every one becomes a bit more of a pain than I prefer.
