Pokemon+epic fantasy=?

Would there be anyone interested in a Pokemon RP that takes place in a fantasy version of the Pokemon world we know?

Fantasy is a very broad term. In a way, Pokémon itself is fantasy. Do you mean medieval times with wizards and kings and knights?

What role do pokemon fulfil? Are they monstrous creatures that humans fight? Or is the role similar to the games, with people capturing and controlling them? Both sound interesting, but it'd be a very different feel, haha

If you mean the medieval age, I think there was a similar RP idea presented a while back (the RP was called "Medieval"), I can't find the link but you can get inspiration from there! :)

They are both friend and foe--while the vast majority of Pokemon are okay around humans, an evil wizard's dark magic has begun turning them to their primal stage

This is actually an ongoing thing I believe. The thread was to get people to help out~

Nonetheless, the idea can work, but it really depends on how you take it. I would be really interested in a world where humans saw Pokemon as monsters that attacked and ravaged villages. I can see it now, a group of people trying to sword fight a very agitated Gallade, villagers warding off a wild Tyranitar away from their village, etc.

It might help if you include a description of what you've already planned. We can't read your mind :P

That being said what you have given us sounds like it would make a pretty interesting roleplay. Would there still be pokeballs? If so, you might need to adjust the lore a bit to allow for that kind of technology. Would pokemon such as Klink, Magnemite, etc, still exist? Once again you may have to adjust lore if they do. There's quite a few things that would need to be either adjusted or removed from the cannon pokemon world in order for it to fit the new theme. I'm interested to see where you go with this! I'll be sure to check it out when you make it!

The way you capture Pokemon does not involve Poke Balls, it actually involves a spell that any class can learn called Heart Link, but they do not learn this until Level 2.

Here's the basic premise:

In a fantastic Pokeworld, minstrel Brock of Argenta (the fantastic equivalent of Pewter City in this world) was summoned by the wizard Lysandre to retrieve the legendary Celestial Harp of Rainbows in return for some mystical items. But as Brock was on his way to the cave where the harp was hidden, Meloetta appeared to him to warn him that Lysandre wanted to use the harp to raise up an army of undead and ghost Pokemon, and destroy the world. Instead, she directed him to gather four other adventurers, assemble the eight jewel shards hidden in eight well guarded elemental labyrinths, and then use the powered up harp to defeat Lysandre before he can carry out his evil plot.

Brock was shaken by this news, and immediately returned to Argenta to ask any and all adventurers to help him on an adventure of a lifetime.

You play the role of one of the four adventurers that responded to Brock's plea for help--will you and Brock succeed in defeating Lysandre?

I'd say i would definitely be interested in joining! This looks very good and fun, though it is still in its early stages. I like the use of Brock and the whole saving the world. Looking forward to seeing how you develop this further!
