    Pokémon Fire-Red: A Loser's Game

Are you tired of seeing the same overpowered Pokémon dominate every playthrough? Do you wish the underappreciated and forgotten Pokémon had their time to shine? In Pokémon A Loser's Game, we've rebalanced the entire Pokédex, bringing overlooked Pokémon into the spotlight while keeping gameplay fresh, challenging, and fair.

    A New Take on Balance

This ROM hack features Pokémon from Generations 1-8, but with a major twist: every Pokémon has been rebalanced to create a fair and engaging experience. No overpowered threats, no gimmicks—just a fully optimized roster where every choice is viable.

    • Fully evolved Pokémon have BSTs ranging from 420-480, ensuring no single Pokémon dominates the game.
    • Pseudo-Legendaries and Legendaries are slightly stronger but remain balanced to avoid power creep.
    • Almost all Pokémon have new typings, encouraging fresh strategies and team compositions.
    • Stat distributions and movepools have been refined, making formerly weak Pokémon much more viable.
    • The strongest Pokémon have been adjusted, so battles are always fair and skill-based.

    The Pokédex

This region is filled with underrated and underused Pokémon, giving them a chance to shine like never before! You won't find the usual suspects like Garchomp, Metagross, or Charizard—only carefully selected Pokémon that deserve more love.

    Examples:

    • Use The Three Wise Monkeys, Simisage, Simisear and Simipour as now Grass, Fire, Water types, with the Psychic type added!
    • Use Slaking, a once nigh unusable Pokémon, thats now a Psuedo-Legendary with the ability Comatose!
    • Use Dedenne, a powerful, fast, physically bulky Electric/Fairy type, that has excellent support and damage capabilities!

    Features

    • A fresh and balanced competitive experience with every Pokémon feeling equally viable.
    • New forms and evolutions for certain Pokémon that needed an extra boost. (All The Starters Have New Forms!)
    • A challenging but fair difficulty curve, rewarding smart team-building and strategy.
    • A natural feeling experience, filled with Quality Of Life!

Are You Ready for a True Pokémon Challenge?

Pokémon Fire-Red: A Loser's Game is the perfect game for those who love strategy, balance, and discovering hidden gems in the Pokémon universe. Choose your team wisely, plan your strategies, and embark on a journey where every Pokémon has potential!

Will you rise to the challenge?

Custom sprites were all made by me, trailer by me, and the actual rom by me. This was a solo project.

    wow! mate
you made a rom hack that I have been dreaming for a long time especially the part that using under-loved and under-used mons!

The title of this ROM hack made me think that you were supposed to lose all of your battles to progress instead of winning. However, what you've made is much more interesting IMO.

I see that the starters are Snivy, Scorbunny, and Froakie. Normally, they have OP hidden abilities, like Contrary and Protean/Libero. Did you take those abilities away?

Also, does this ROM hack have an EV/IV checker and a way to change your Pokemon's IV's, nature, and ability?

No.1: Every Starter has a new form! If you'd like to check them out (and our other pokemon in the rom) check out our documentation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zoE9fbV3R9yP4TSu5SERlnYkA1xG1MpLlFhbap8KPUk/edit?usp=sharing

First things first: Thanks for answering my comment! But I wasn't able to find the link to the discord server in those documents...could you send it here?
Also, when I asked for documentation, I was referring to trainer rosters (aka which Pokemon the gym leader use so I can teambuild in a hardcore nuzlocke with that in mind)

Documentation has just been updated to contain every Gym Leader, Elite 4 and Giovanni's information; it isnt much, but it should help. It has their levels and moves. No items, but it does tell you if its a single or double battle. Come check out our discord server! https://discord.gg/NFbrsP385w

Do you have a documentation for the learnsets and locations of each Pokemon ?? The current documentation you posted only has the conplete dex and evolution guide for every Pokemon. Thanks.

looking at the top two questions I now realise I should add locations into the documentation. I will do this once I get the time! Learnsets are being considered, but since I'm a solo dev, with zero support, its a struggle and takes a while to go through each individual learnset. I'm not saying no, but I'd need time. Thanks!
