    What is this hack of? What is it about?
    Hack of FIRE RED (E)
    Name of Hack: Pokemon: Orange Islands [Adventures] (E)​



    .::Introduction::.
    Boring Intro... But still, it's good to read it.
    It's back!
    Yeah.. I've been studying and stuff...
    but someone gave me an email.. so I decided to come back :)​

    I thought I would make a game of Orange Islands, cause there's not a complete game with the Orange Islands.
    I know, there's a hack being made, called Pokemon Naranja,
    but Pokemon Naranja has problems: (No offence to Serg!o)
    - It's in Spanish (And I can't understand it)
    - The English Translation isn't good
    - The map of Orange Islands is all messed up
    - The tiles are kinda weird, and there's lots of bugs
    - The level of the trainers are not good, ex: there's a Dragon Trainer at the first bit O.o (And it's Level 9!)​


    Well, my hack will have these advantages:
    - It's in English
    - Because FireRed has 4 map spaces, I'll be able to split the map of the Islands up
    - Better graphic because it's FireRed.
    - Won't have walk through walls stuff in it​



    .::Storyline::.
    The story... I'm ganna sleep.
    You are a resident in VALENCIA ISLAND. You are now fifteen years old, (that's when you're allowed to have adventures.) and you are going to get yout first pokemon.
    (Same story... till now.) In this game, you will get to travel in the ORANGE ISLANDS,
    and the cinnabar island, the birth island, and other Islands.
    Professor Ivy, (the PROF of the OI) says she's going to give you a pokemon.
    Pokemon you can choose are: PIKACHU, STARYU, and DIGLETT. After you choose your Pokemon, Your adventure begins!​



    .::Features::.
    Oooh! Finally! Exciting Stuffs!
    - Explore the Orange Island
    - Newly coloured pokemons!
    Ex: I am going to put Dark Lugia, Crystal Onix, Red Gyrados, Dark Dialga, and etc...
    - New Gyms (The Orange Crew!)
    - The Orange Déx (Diffrent Orders, etc...)
    - The Orange League!
    - But same old TEAM ROCKET... (coz that's how it is in the anime...)
    - New Starters!
    Here are the starters:
    -Pikachu [Elec]- Lv 36 - Raichu [Elec, Dark] (Not related to Pichu anymore)
    -Staryu [Water]- Lv 34 - Starmie [Water, Psychic]
    -Diglett [Ground]- Lv 31 - Dugtrio [Ground, Rock]
    (I chose them because they're like fire, water and grass)
    - New Heros!
    - Boy - OREN
    - Girl - ISLE​



    .::What to do::.
    Urgh... Lots of work to do...​

    - Scripters (Urgent!) - wolverfrog
    - Tilers (Maybe) -
    - Spriters (Urgent) - dark lakitu, neonat2 (Not Active), DiggoryGrimmin​
    - Mappers (Not much need...) - Me

    I can't do walking poses though.

    We already have the little sprites.

    I'll need big sprites...
     
    As much as I love the orange islands I find it hard to think of this as rising above Naranja. The mapping needs to be improved a lot as even from those screens there are errors.

    Also whats up with the starters? Why start at 30 already? It will make progress in the game feel very slow... so why not start back around 15 or the good old Lv 5 that we are so fond of.

    Scripting is one of the Hardest things on Hacking...
    especially when there's a huge number of lines I have to do.

    I agree with you, that's a little high. Even Sergio set pikachu's level back to 5 to make it fair. BTW, nice on the type addition for raichu, not so sure about dugtrio there. An Electric/Dark would be interesting, but a Rock/Ground has been done so many times, hack or no hack.
     
    Hey, this hack looks interesting...But you said the screenshots are old, so correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe you should try changing the standard grass palette?

    Maybe something more like, dark yellow-greenish..Gets that tropical island feel to its appearance.

    Overall, from what I've seen so far, this looks pretty good and has some potential. Keep at it.

    The therad.... IT LIVES! seriously now, I'm glad that his thread is back but I still think you need to learn scripting. look at diegosawsomes tut. If you still don't understand it I can personaly tutor you through the basics.
