What Pokemon do you think would make a good pet? And on the opposite side, what Pokemon do you think would make a bad pet? Why?

good pets: eevee and most of its eeveelutions with the possible exception of flareon bc i dont want stuff on fire. ponyta would be a decent pet but idk how to take care of horses rip. doggo pokemon would make good pets. also idc what anyone says i would keep a pet shaymin. because i can.
bad pets: literally any huge legendary pokemon would be terrible like how would they even be pets in the first place aaaa

well legendaries aside. i think a pokemon like farfetch'd or pidgeotto would actually make as good pets. also eevee, miltank, etc.

muk would be the worst pet. or a magikarp. imagine having a magikarp in an aquarium inside your small apartment and then it just evolves

Good pets: Any pet sized animal of similar creature that is not any danger to you. (sorry if it's vague)

Bad pets: 1. Anything huge- Too big to keep around domestically.
    2. Magcargo- It's hotter the surface of the sun.
    3. Human-Like Pokemon- Because it's weird and unethical.
    4. Drowzee/Hypno- Because they're Pedophiles.
    5. Anything that could steal your soul/kill you/leave a curse on you or a loved one- You don't want that to happen.
    6. Voltorb/Electrode- They're living timebombs. Let that sink in for a bit.
    7. Kadabra/Phantump- They used to be children.
    8. Mimikyu- Looking at it wrong can kill you.
    9. Cocoon Pokemon- They're boring. Next.
    10. Anything not listed that will be a threat to the wellbeing and livelihoods of you or the people around you/anything that you may unintentionally endanger by merely keeping it in your possession.

    4. Drowzee/Hypno- Because they're Pedophiles.
    ??????

Obviously Sylveon would make the best pet because it spreads happiness! (´▽`ʃƪ)♡

As for worst.. I agree with everyone on (most) legendary Pokémon, but also most fish Pokémon since they're too big for a home aquarium. :'(

    cute thread
zorua would make for such an awesome pet! it can transform into other mons or people so I can have it help out with a lot of things, like lifting/carrying objects by transforming into Machamp and the like or pretending to be me and go to work in my place. Plus it's very cute. :3c

As a dog fan i would choose the Eeveelutions (yeah i know, they're cat-dogs but still)

Flareon : Stated to be very loyal to it's owner
Vaporeon : Loves being petted, so yeah perfect pet
Glaceon : Could cool you in summer
Leafeon : Can use photosystesis (sp) if you live in poluted towns
    Jolteon : Power's down? Use a Jolteon

    Other

Gardevoir and Gallade : one protects it's trainer while other protects the weak
    Growlithe : (See Flareon)

Obviously Sylveon would make the best pet because it spreads happiness! (´▽`ʃƪ)♡

how has no one said shaymin yet? Shaymin would be a good pet, too.

Other good pets no one listed:
Buneary would make a nice pet. Rabbits have always been pretty cute.
Alolan Vulpix would be a good pet as well.
I also think Wooloo, since they're domesticated in their home region, would also be a good pet.
Furfrou would be a good pet, also, just make sure to groom it every so often.

    Bad pets:
Psyduck, if Detective Pikachu has taught me anything, is a ticking time bomb. I wouldn't want it as a pet...
Purugly. It literally claims Pokemon nests as its own. That's not very nice...
Snorlax. How would anyone be able to get all the food it needs? Not to mention Snorlax is 6'11 and over a thousand pounds.
...And Bewear, obviously, I don't think I even need to explain why.

trying not to use the ones mentioned....
for myself I'm a cat person
Espeon would make a lovely pet, able to slightly predict weather, and looks like it has super soft thin fur (one of my three cats has thin fur, I can imagine Espeon feels the same)

most of the unevolved cats too - Meowth, Purrloin, Glameow, Skitty, Shinx, Espurr, Litten & also Mew
slightly bigger cats maybe Persian, Meowstic, Torracat, and Delcatty would make lovely pets

aside from all other Eevees - Fennekin, Vulpix, Zorua small and cute, fluffy soft
I never petted a fox before, I can imagine it super soft

bad pets? as most mention, the too large to keep indoors
as much as I love them, Beartic, Ursaring, I know bears can be unpredictable and super big, aggressive at times

Oo, I thought of another one! I think Natu would make a great pet. It's small, can fly on its own, and has Psychic abilities! And I think something like Cubone would be a great therapy Pokémon-pet, cause it needs lots of hugs.

    As for another not so great option, I think any Pokémon that requires extreme heat/cold wouldn't make good domestic pets. Most people live in pretty mild climates, and while I believe those Pokémon would survive, I can't imagine they'd be very comfortable. Pokémon like Piloswine and Abomasnow are covered in so much fur, I'd worry about them in warm weather. ;;
