Pokemon Roleplay Discussion

Personally I don't really like contests. At all. Which brings me to something I remembered a while back:

Contest RPs. What do you guys think? Personally, I don't think there's a lot to write about. I don't think you can be as creative or imaginative as much. Plus there's no real tension involved either.
 
A bit of blatant advertising here...
I've just started a new RP (OOC thread in the mod's hands, should be up soon) called Mercenaries. It's a little hard to explain, so go and check it out in the Pokemon section.

It's actually pretty lame *cough* when you have to draw out the entire scheme.
 
What do people think of a roleplay that was like the old RP Dark Mike made? I don't remember the name, but I was thinking of creating an RP similiar to it, but not exactly like it...

More like picking one of the 12 starters and going through Kanto collecting badges and battling in contests... anyone interested?
 
^ Meh, depends.

I like the sound of the idea, but it might need to have a few twists to make sure it's not just another generic adventure RP. Also, see my previous point about contests :P

Other than that, go for it if you want :)
 
Well yeah, Zeph, I had written out a paragraph about it on a seperate document... I should probably share it... but I think I'll wait for when I'm completely done. XD
 
Yeah, I never liked leveling somehow in RPs... so, it was fun. XD
 
I've been debating as to whether or not to start an RP. I don't have a time issue, I can easily handle running on RP, but I can't come up with a good enough plot for it...I dont want a Survivor, Standard, or Contest RP; they're too bland for me. I want to start an RP that developes, like a novel. Not something that the RPers will easily forget about. I just can't seem to develope a decent-enough plot...

Anyone willing to offer inspiration?
 
Royal: I'm noy sure if this was you but, the username had royal something in it. But, was it you who did " The Island of Time" RP, it was quite some time ago. I was in it but I dropped out without warning because my computer went amiss. I think you should start it up again.

Not to sure, I just had a tought, but anyhow, I guess It'd be like a trainers journey thing, only the gyms are racing prixs. I think it'd be based mainly on creativity i.e. A donphan: slow pokemon, but when you apply creativity... " Donphan, use rollout." character stands on Donphan's horns that are still jutting out, and Donphan is used as a speedy wheel.

By the way, you were in Silver Crown's RP the island of time, a long time ago, weren't you? I think he should try and start that up again.

Over a year ago, there was an RP called Dark Energy or something like that. It was quite busy in that thread, and fairly active. I like active RPs. It might even get restarted appearantly.
