Didn't see a thread about this, so if this isn't allowed/if there's one already, feel free to close.

Anyway, what does everyone here think about the latest Pokemon Smash?

Things revealed in the 7-20 Smash:
    -Fishing returns
-Honedge can learn Aerial Ace and Shadow Sneak
-Octillery (and to a lesser extent, Remoraid) may be in the Kalos Dex
-Inkay is found in an island somewhere in Kalos
-Fletchling can learn Tackle (not notable, but still...)
    -Rock Smash rocks return

They showed a double battle, I heard? I want to see that. The other gameplay footage was a real treat to see. Makes me very excited. Only thing that bothered me slightly were the battle scene backgrounds, they didn't look very detailed to me... which I guess shouldn't surprise me too much.

Well, I guess they're more detailed than anything we've had before, even if they're not very impressive in general. The battle backgrounds, that is.

I think the surfing animation is kinda derpy... ah well. The way your character runs and jumps around is kinda derpy, too, so what else would I expect? The animations are in a style kind of like a cheap cartoon for little kids. But I mean, hey, it's Pokemon; overworld animations have always been primitive in this series.

Don't get me wrong, I think XY is going to be sweet. I wouldn't even say I'm disappointed. I'm just unimpressed, I suppose.

The most important things are battles, though, and those look great so far! I'm not worried.

Do you think that we will be able to move with both the circle pad and the D-pad?

also in the gameplay footage you could see dark spot in the water near the beach, dive returns?

There is an orange flag so probably we will get a message that says Dont proceed there.

Yeah, the surfing animation looks...Weird. Maybe because the trainer is bigger than the shadow. I also heard about the double battle footage, and each Pokemon supposedly has their own circle. Some things looked a bit derpy...

But I really like how the fishing animation looks.

And I wish they stopped yelling so we can hear the music.

I suppose. And now that I think about it, maybe they have their own circle so the models don't overlap or something.

I think the Pokemon having their own circles is just a result of having more space to work with in the battle screen, a natural progression. I don't think it serves any certain purpose, except maybe giving the battle area a larger feel.

    Well, at least we know HMs aren't going away anytime soon like most people had hoped. xD;

There is nothing wrong with HMs IMO! HMs like surf and fly are very important. Cut and be dealt away though and I jusy want to say wow PokeCommunity has undergo a face lift with a Volcarona theme not liking at the volcarona being everywhere but it is significantly faster when loading thanks Pokecommunity.

The only decent HM's are Waterfall and Surf. Everything else is just annoying and gets in the way, that's probably why they played a minor role in the 5th Gen games because people just didn't like the majority of them.

Anyway; it's nice to see they're taking advantage of the space in double battles. Has it been confirmed that triple/rotation battles will return, or?

I dont really like the walking animation in gen 6 it just looks so awkward and like you're about to fall over. I will get Y version tho!

I'm not too sure they've confirmed either, but you could expect them to still make an appearance, unless these "Sky Battles" are the full-on replacement for Triple/Rotation?

idk about every one else but i really injoyed the Rotation batlles, i just wish there were more time to do it

Oh wonderful, the return of the worst HM ever. I'm sure we all wanted Rock Smash back. I swear, though, if they pull a Mt. Coronet and add in a dungeon that requires the use of nearly all of the HMs...

Technicallt, Dive never left since its in Gen 5.

The poster probably meant we'll be exploring the underwater again (catching Pokemon, seeing new places, etc.) like in Gen III (R/S/E), Gen V only had the ruins in Undella Bay... I doubt that it would return, it would be neat though.

I can't wait to actually see how this looks like on the 3DS with the 3D slider and all!
