Cool! Pity it's only "Best of". I don't understand why the real manga hasn't become mega-popular in English. It's the most "mature" version of Pokémon there is, kinda. And still it's cute and cool and all. It got pressed down by the anime hype?

I noticed that Volume 31 of Pokemon Special released yesterday in Japan. The reason that I said yesterday is because Japan is 12 hours ahead of where I live. So I was wondering there were any changes to the current changes to story since it the magazine version.
Also I was thinking about something I notice that all of the main antagonist notice I in this manga have been mostly middle age adults or elderly adults with the exception of Lance. I wish they could make more young adults main antagonist. I would also would like to see a main antagonist in their teens since one has yet to appear in Special and I like it when the antagonist is closer to the protagonist in age. Sometimes they do have a choice of who the main antagonist should be.

I think the reason that the 'real' manga isn't as popular as the "Best of" series is because no one knows it exists. XD Except for the occasional really obsessed fan who does a bunch of research on the internet, I don't think many English-speaking fans know there's more than just the "Best of Red" and the "Best of Yellow". D:

Hmmm. A PokeSpe game hack? :O Masa's normally not really interested in fan-made games, but this one might have some potential... I'll have to keep an eye on it. >D

I cannot wait either. I have not exactly heard Diamond and Peral's manzi because I have yet read the DP arc. I also cannot wait for the DP arc to be translated then I may be will be able to understand why their manzi is so funny. I really do want to read the DP arc as well because the plot sounds interesting.

At least compared to Emerald, which was all about fighting and nothing about carefree journeying. Even R/S had that feeling, much... me not like. Johto is still my favourite<3.

Blue the girl was also sort of an antagonist in the RGB arc and so was Green (the boy). You also have to keep in mind story of the RGB arc was told in Red's prospective, and the beginning the GSC arc was told in Gold's prospective and we only saw how the character were at that time from their point of views at the time. I was really referring to the main antagonist of the arc meaning the ones who are the villainous antagonists though.

The Bright Side of Things ~We're in This Together~​

Many days had passed without a single call. The poor, lovestruck boy had given up all hopes of getting a date in the middle of the summer. Summer was supposed to be where relations were supposed to blossom, and where there were blossoming romances, there'd be Gold. Not only was he interested in the many foodstuffs the world of Pokemon had to supply, he had also been trying to get a girl for the past few years, but always ended up failing. The best chance he had was to go after Crystal, one of his fellow companions in some of the biggest battles of the century, but she seemed more involved with capturing the native Pokemon of whatever region she was in. She wasn't the type to go out with a carefree, food-eating, girl-loving guy like Gold.​

However, the fateful day came when Gold felt his Pokegear go off. He scrambled to get it from his pocket, dropped it on the ground, then picked it up and answered it.​

"This is Gold. How may I help you?"​

"Hey, Gold, it's Crystal." Gold's heart nearly skipped a beat. "I just wanted to see if you'd come with me on a nature hike." Yes, yes, yes!!! Gold's heart seemed to shout.​

"Um… That would be nice, Crys. Do we need to bring out Pokemon?" Gold waited patiently as Crys seemed to think over his question.​

"Yes… That would be fine. So… Is tomorrow all right with you? Our hike will take place on the mountainous part of Johto, around Mount Silver." Gold answered in the most polite way he could, but deep down his heart was bursting with excitement. After all, this was just like a date, even if it had other purposes. Nonetheless, Gold couldn't wait for wherever he was going.​

OK, hiking didn't sound so bad. But on one of the steepest trails in the region? Gold felt like his legs were about to come off, and he didn't want to bug Crystal by flying up the trail on his Mantine. Sure, she could use her Xatu to travel certain distances, but that would ruin the whole purpose of hiking. As Gold trekked further and further in the mountains, he seemed to notice Crystal was a couple yards ahead of him. How could she stand this hard climbing? He wondered. She couldn't be human!​

"Oh dear, it looks like it might rain." Gold's private thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Crystal's outgoing thought. Looking up at the sky, Gold's eyes turned wide. Oh shoot, not now. If it rains now, it means I'll have to put up with more than just this long, arduous hike!!! With a sudden burst of speed Gold was off, sprinting up the mountain as fast as he could. The sooner they reached the top, the sooner they could go down, right?​

The rain began pouring just as Gold wriggled his way to the peak of the mountain. Crystal wasn't too far behind (unlike Gold, she paced herself rather than let go of all of her energy at once). The two turned to look at each other, and then at the bottom of the mountain.​

"Gold?"​

"Yeah?"​

"Do you think there's some sort of cabin nearby?"​

"I would like to hope so. I'm exhausted."​

"I don't think we'll be out of here by the end of the day, that's for sure."​

"All right, then, we should probably find a cabin for us to rest in." As Gold struggled to stand up straight, Crystal was already walking northwards. H-hey! Where do you think you're going? Gold thought, surprised that his companion had already perhaps found some shelter. A glimmer of light caught his eye in the very same direction. It was probably a cabin, just like the two had hoped for. Weird… Gold followed the seemingly mesmerized Crystal to the source of the light, and sure enough, a log cabin came in view.​

It took about another fifteen minutes, but the two soon arrived at the mediocre shelter. Banging on the door a couple times, there was just something about the cabin that alienated Gold. I don't think these lanterns are automatic. Especially if no one's here… He knocked on the door a couple more times, and just as he was about to give up, the door opened as if someone pulled it away from the two characters.​

"It's gotta be a ghost…" Gold said under his breath. But I don't want to freak out Crystal, or get her hopes up that it might be a Pokemon. This is the chance you've been waiting for, Gold! Grab ahold of the girl and let her fall into your arms! As the lovestruck Gold began to wrap his arm around Crystal's shoulder, the young girl walked into the cabin, unaware what Gold had tried to attempt. Damn, I'll get her later…​

"Hello? Is anyone in here?" Crystal called out. No reply. "Anyone?" she added. Still no response. "The door must've opened with the wind…" Crystal said, turning to Gold. "Let's see if there's anyplace to sleep in this decrepit cabin." She walked up a flight of wooden stairs, and opened the door up there. "Hey Gold," she called, "there's one bed here. And it seems to fit two people." TWO people? Lucky me~ Gold's heart began beating faster and faster as he wished that it'd be the only place for the two to sleep. He watched Crystal's movements as she checked the rest of the building for another bed.​

"No couch, no extendable armchair, no extra cots… It's like this cabin was used to get two people together," Crystal stated. Hearing this, Gold wanted to jump for joy, but he knew that he wouldn't get the smart Capturer that way. But hey, I'm a lady's man, I'll get her eventually!​

Hours passed, and the rain didn't even stop for a moment. In fact, it felt like it was getting worse and worse.​

"Maybe it'll rain for forty days and forty nights. And our cabin will begin floating after day one," Gold joked, hoping to hear a response from the ever-so-quiet Crystal. But all he got was the cold shoulder. Not one for jokes, are you? Gold sighed, and figured he'd keep quiet for a bit too. After all, what girl would want you to talk more if she already let you down just for making a joke? As Gold began to sit down in one of the few armchairs (lucky it wasn't extendable!), he caught something out of the glimpse of his eye. It seemed like a little black ball. Not wanting to turn around just to find that it vanished, Gold continued to watch it from his peripheral vision. A couple minutes passed, and the ball didn't seem to do anything. At last, annoyed at the darn thing, Gold turned around, but, as he expected, the ball vanished. Something fishy is going on here. That better be a Gastly…Gold's attention turned back towards Crystal, who still seemed to be thinking things out.​

"Hey Crystal."​

"What do you want?" Crystal's cold response caught the bold Gold off guard.​

"I was just thinking… It's getting dark, so shouldn't we hit the sack?"​

"You're right. I need to change, first. You should, too." Crystal nonchalantly walked upstairs to the bedroom, and the door slammed. She seemed to be in a rotten mood, Gold assumed. Choosing to shrug it off, Gold began to undress himself when all of a sudden a scream rang out. It was Crystal, and it was coming from upstairs. Without a second thought Gold rushed upstairs to rescue the "damsel in distress".​

However, as he burst through the doors he realized she was completely naked, except for some frilly pink underwear that covered only part of her. She gawked at him, and it took Gold a second or two to realize he wasn't wearing anything at all. After what seemed like an eternity, Gold rushed back downstairs, closing the door behind him. ****! She probably thinks I'm some kind of pedophile now! He thought, rapidly putting on a spare change of clothes. Now what'll I do???​

Not wanting to dwell on the faux pas he had made, Gold silently went up the stairs and knocked on the door. After a few seconds of waiting, it opened, and there she was, clad in a beautiful pearl white night gown. Not wanting to ruin the moment, a distraught Gold slumped into the mediocre bed. All he wanted to do was die. She saw me naked. This is it… But to his surprise, Crystal climbed into the bed beside him. As she lay down next to Gold, her chest seemed to learn against his back, and Gold couldn't help but blush.​

"Gold?"​

"Yeah?"​

"I'm sorry…about what happened earlier. I thought I saw something…"​

"What did you see?"​

"A black ball… It was almost like a Gastly…" Gold paused for a moment. Could the ball be trying to get the two together? "Anyways," Crystal continued, "I thought it would be best if we huddled close together, in case that black ball returns. Is that OK with you?" Hell yes! Gold's heart shouted out. But to maintain his calm and collected demeanor, Gold simply replied with a "yes".​

Day came sooner that the two expected. Pidgey were out chirping their lives away, and the sun shone through the lone window in the bedroom. The first to wake up was Crystal, who realized Gold's arms were wrapped around her, as were her arms around him. She blushed, and carefully removed herself from the bed. Hoping Gold wouldn't wake up while she dressed, Crystal began to throw her night clothes into her backpack as she got out another fresh pair. Fortunately, she had just finished putting on her shirt when Gold's eyes opened.​

"So, we can go back now, right?"​

"Yeah."​

"Last night was pretty crazy wasn't it, Crystal?"​

"You're telling me." Crystal giggled, and Gold couldn't help but smile. Although the trip seemed to be rotten at first, Gold had his own little victory in the end.​

Epilogue​

The two went out for the rest of the summer. Fall soon came, and before then the two were going steady. As for the mystery of the cabin, it has yet to be solved. Nobody knows if the little black ball was just a Gastly trying to play tricks or even trying to get two people together, or if it was something unknown even to man. All that can be said is whenever two people, either of the same gender or of opposite genders went hiking on the steepest trail in all of Johto, rain would mysteriously appear, and the two would find themselves staring at a light from some unknown source. They'd be drawn towards the cabin, and perhaps that is where they'd fall in love…​

Good that you added some plot (with the mysterious whatever-it-is XD). Gold was pretty cute here, I liked his comments to himself. And I never though Crys would wear pink frilly underwear, heh. Anyway, good writing.

It had all started out so simple- during training, a chaotic storm struck. Seeking shelter, Platina and her twelve companions found a large seemingly abandoned house. Although she didn't know these people, she trusted Red, Green and the others knowing they were her seniors.


Platina ran her fingers through her raven hair. She had been exploring this rather large house for hours now, and frankly, she was tired of walking. Earlier Green divided the group of thirteen pokedex holders into two groups. While they waited for the storm to stop, one group would explore the house searching for other residents, friendly or otherwise. The majority stayed behind on the first floor to wait for them. The raven haired girl made sure she remembered who exactly stayed behind and what her names were. With her were Red, Ruby, Sapphire and… what was his name again? Oh, right- Gold. Her feet ached. Suddenly she longed to be with her friends on the bottom floor. She imagined Dia searching for the kitchen and Pearl smacking him across the head for some reason or another. Chuckling to herself, she managed to keep her mind off the walking for a second or two.


"I don't think anyone's here. Let's go back. My feet hurt" Complained one red-eyed boy. "Oh God, Ruby! Get over it!"The brunette next to him snapped. "You've been complaining the whole time!" She continued. Platina couldn't help but feel a little weak herself. She noticed the oldest of the group, Red, was walking farther and farther ahead of the group- possibly to avoid listening to Ruby and Sapphire's tsundere routine. "Well, maybe he has a point. All of this walking is tired, and if someone was here they would have heard us by now" She defended the feminine boy.


"Oh, so she can talk!" The golden-eyed boy mocked. She had to admit, this is the first time she spoke since they left the first floor. They must be on the tenth by now. "Err.. What's your name again?" He asked. Platina starred at the boy with a sarcastic expression. "You can just call me the Lady Berlitz."


"Lady? What, too good to give us your name?"


"Precisely."


At the moment, both Ruby and Sapphire were too swept up in their typical bickering to notice what was going on around them. Suddenly Red turned around and starred at the rest of the group. Gold looked back at his senior. "Red, man, that expression's scarring me." Red signaled for his juniors to be quiet. "Do you guys hear anything?" Gold and PLatina looked concerned. "N-No…" Gold replied.


Red looked around for a moment or two. "Okay. Gold, Platina – you two go check that room over there just in case." Platina didn't enjoy being ordered to do anything with this Gold fellow. "It's probably just a Ratata.." She scoffed to herself. Regardless, she followed the spiky-haired boy into the creepy room on the left.


Dust engulfed the dark room. Walking around the room, Platina covered her nose and mouth with a handkerchief to avoid sneezing and coughing constantly. She could barely see anything within the lightless area. Her heart seemed to race as she saw a dark figure in front of her. "G-Gold..? Is that you?" She called out to a silhouette in front of her. She almost jumped as a hand crept onto her shoulder. "Yep! What's wrong princess, scared without me to protect you?" Gold teased, much to her annoyance. "Believe me, I'm in much more danger with you rather than without you." She managed to state calmly as she smacked his hand away. "Now let's get out of this room. All this dust is making me sick." She walked towards the door and place her hand on the dusty door knob. "Commoner! Did you close the door? That's stupid! It might not…." Before she could finish her sentence, the old door knob fell off the door and rolled on the ground. Platina's heart sank.


Gold chuckled. "Oh, the princess broke the door. That's no problem. EXPLOTA-"Platina tackled him to the ground. With her hand pressed firmly over his mouth, she stuttered out "You idiot! This house is so old, if you destroy the door with you pokemon like that, the floor would probably break!" Gold gasped for air as she took her hand off his face. "Geez, lady! What'd ya do that for!?" He gasped between words. "Not very lady-like, princess.." He continued.


Platina started pounding against the door. "R-Red! Ruby! Sapphire! Can you hear me?" She heard a surprised make voice call back. "Lady? That you? I heard a lot of … er.. tackling.. What are you two doing in there!? Did you find a thief?" That must have been Red. She sighed. "Red, the door's locked from the inside. We can't get out. I think it's too risky to bust it down." She confessed, letting her desperation show in her voice. "Uh, okay. From the inside?" He asked. There was a pause. "Just wait a second, you two!"


From the other side of the door, Platina heard Red speaking with Ruby and Sapphire. She could hear much, but a few phrases stood out. "Key?"


"Saw… some… by the door?"


"get it"


"Wait here" It sounded like Red ran off, leaving Ruby and Sapphire to wait by the door.


Platina looked across the room to see the reason for this mess she was in. He was leaning against the wall with his hand behind his head and his hat tipped over his eyes. His explotaro provided an excellent light source. She sighed in exasperation as she leaned against the door and slid to the ground. Elbow on top of her thigh, she placed her head on her hand. She starred viciously at the boy sitting across the room. The reason she was stuck in the horridly dusty room. That... that… thing. A few minutes of silence passed.


"So... Sinnoh, Huh?"


"P-Pardon!?" Platina seemed surprised. She'd assumed Gold had fallen asleep.


"You're from Sinnoh, right?"


"Yes."


"Oh. … Is it a nice place?"


"Quiet commoner."


Gold faced her with an insulted look she could see clearly, even from ten feet away. "Well, sorry[/i] your majesty." He scoffed. Platina kept her blank expression. "It's your fault we're stuck. I'm tired and don't feel like having a conversation with a scoundrel such as yourself."


He lifted the hat from his face and sat up. "Why do you have such a problem with me?" He asked. "I don't like your attitude" She responded frankly. Platina felt increasingly awkward by Gold's staring.


"W-What?" She finally stammered out.


"You know, you'd be really cute if you weren't so up-tight."


Platina flushed with a combination of embarrassment and annoyance. "Well, excuse me! Aren't you quite the charmer?!" She barked sarcastically.


"Yes, I am."

"Red and the others have been gone for so long. Do you think Re-… the others are alright?" The ever caring Yellow asked as she placed her mug on the old coffee table. Thunder crackled outside. The eight remaining teenagers were gathered around a table as they waited out the storm. Blue sipped her hot chocolate. "Don't worry Yellow."


"It's Red. He gets himself in trouble a lot, but in the end it all works out." Green continued. Yellow seemed a little calmer. Silver interrupted. "It's not Red I'm worried about. … Gold's with them. " The group went silent for a moment. Crystal shook at the thought of Gold's antics. "You know… H-he has a point." She stammered. The silence showed the rest of the group agreed.


Dia placed his hot chocolate on the table and stood up. "I SAY… we stay here and finish the snacks I prepared". This earned him a smack at the back of his head from Pearl. "What kind of suggestion was that!?"


… In the end, they just followed Dia's advice.

From the other side of the door, she could hear Ruby and Sapphire's secretly flirtatious bickering. The atmosphere was obviously a lot worse between her and Gold. Unexpectedly, Platina heard a crash within the room above them. Platina immediately stood up and looked up at the ceiling. Hearing tiny feet run across the floor above, she moved to the center of the room-directly underneath a small hole in the ceiling. Gold, still sitting against the wall, looked up with the same concern. Could this be what Red was hearing earlier?


Gold saw a purple flash fall from the ceiling.


"eh? Eh!? Ahhh!"


Gold immediately averted his gaze to Platina, who stood in the middle of the room terrified with a bulge traveling through her shirt. He was pretty surprised to see her panicking like this. Lady Berlitz was completely pale as she attempted to grab whatever was in her shirt. Gold could only stare with a perverted smile. "U-Uh... You want some help?" Platina just starred at him for a moment.


"N-No! Don't touch me! Stay ba-…Crap! My hair!" She stuttered as the thing used her hair to crawl out of Platina's shirt and into her hat. Slightly amazed by the Lady's current state of panic, he got up and walked over to her. "Here, just stay still" He grabbed the unfortunate Lady's shoulder.


"I thought I told you not to touch me." She complained, but didn't bother to push him away. She felt him pull off her hat. Suddenly, she noticed how close they were. This idiot had caused her quite a lot of trouble and aggravation, but she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed by the situation. Fighting back a blush, she somehow felt…


"Oh, Would you look at that! It was a just a Rattata." Gold exclaimed, smiling. Platina shook her head to id herself of those embarrassing thoughts. He took his hand off of Lady berlitz and grabbed the small furry creature. He wore his typical stupid grin as he held the rat pokemon by it's tail. "You're kind of annoying little guy…" He taunted. Platina took several steps back. "Th-Thank..."


"Y-OUCH!" Gold exclaimed as he dropped the rat on the floor. Platina starred blankly at Gold as the Rattata scurried away. He had his hands over his face and looked quite angry. "The damn thing bit my nose!" He ranted.


"Pfft.. It .. your nose.." Platina tried desperately to form a complete sentence while holding back giggles. Gold stopped his blind rage and looked at her. She started giggling uncontrollably, becoming less restrained every second. Eventually the mature young Lady was holding her sides and bursting with laughter. The young man was slightly amazed at her sadistic sense of humor, but even more so by her laughter. She wiped away tears while trying to regain her composure. Gold suddenly had a smug little grin on his face.


"You know…" He began.


Ker-chunk! After what felt like hours, Red opened the door behind them. He had his typical smile on his face. "I found a key! You guys okay?" He asked. Ruby stood behind them holding said key, and Sapphire shared the same clueless smile as Red. Platina turned her head around and turned scarlet for reason's she couldn't explained. "Oh, you.. thankyou." She showed her gratitude calmly.


Gold walked up to Red with his hands behind his head. "Man, Red, I was wondering if you'd ever show up." He turned around an winked at Platina. "Let's go, Berlitz."


She responded with a pout. "Don't address me so casually." Trying to keep her cool, she couldn't help but smile to herself as soon as they turned around. After all, ever girl loves a bad boy.

I don't know Berlitz, but after reading your story I feel like I do. Great characterization. Also, interesting pairing... Looks like she isn't immune to Gold's flirting. (Who is? XD) Like you said: every girl loves a bad boy, haha.

The sun shone brightly in its golden glory on this wonderful day. Not a cloud littered the deep azure sky above the group of friends that were out and about, enjoying the perfect day. Pidgeys and Tailows filled the crisp air with beautiful morning songs to begin their day. Rattata and Sandshrew emerged from their nests in search of the morning light to begin a new day in their lives. All was peaceful. All was right. For now, at least.

"Your move." A familiar voice called from a pallet of grass that billowed with the flow of the wind. The voice belonged to none other than the Viridian Gym leader; not to mention the great Professor Samuel Oak's grandson. His name was Green. His brown hair shifted slightly with the change in direction of the wind. He repeated his earlier statement; this time with a little more impatience.. "Your move."​

"I heard ya! Chill out!" Yet another familiar voice called out from the other end of the grassy pallet. The owner of this voice was the famous Red, who had one the Pokemon League Championship not too long ago. The little hair that was peeking out from the bottom of hid cap billowed in the same direction as Green's. His jacket collar moved slightly as well. He stared ponderingly at his Pokemon before him as he thought over his next move.​

"GO GREEN!" "GO RED!" Two more voices called out simultaneously. The attention was now drawn to Blue and Yellow, a well known trickster and a girl with the mystical powers of the Viridian Forest respectively. Blue shot a quick glare to Yellow; who was too busy eyeing Red, whom she had a schoolgirl's crush on. "You know…" Blue said in a suspicious tone, "Green is so much more of a man than Red is. I mean, just look at him!" She shot a quick finger to Green and gave a content sigh. Yellow hadn't been paying any attention to Blue's temptations. She gave her own sigh as she kept her longing eyes on Red. Blue simply scoffed it off and continued to ogle her own man candy.​

Elsewhere, yet another sigh could be heard. But this wasn't a sigh of contempt. I was a sigh of dejection. The long haired boy who let out the sigh grabbed a stick and drew a crude picture in the soft dirt of the maiden he had set his eyes on, who just happened to be Blue. He dropped the stick back to the ground and sighed yet again as he stared at the makeshift Blue that stared back at him from the ground. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the drawing was trampled by a pair of sprinting feet; followed by another pair.​

"SORRY SILVER!" A girl draped in varying shades of blue called back as she was chased by a boy shrouded in a multitude of red. "CAN'T CATCH ME, RUBY!!" She called to the boy chasing her. Ruby fumed as his naked head was exposed to the outside world. "GIVE ME MY HAT, SAPPHIRE!" He bellowed to the girl as he swiftly evaded the crushed Silver sitting on the ground. Sapphire turned back and pulled her eyelid down and stuck out her tongue. This act of ridicule, however, caused her to topple over a tree stump; landing face down in the dirt, and sending Ruby's precious hat airborne. Ruby watched, motionless, as his hat soared through the air; then fell into a pit of mud. He slowly walked over to his hat, which was now stained for good. A small tear fell out of his eye, but seemed to boil with rage as Ruby turned his attention back to Sapphire. "YOU SIMPLETON! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!!" He threatened as the chase began again and Sapphire let out a hearty laugh. "WATCH OUT FOR EMERALD!" Sapphire called back, almost running into someone.​

The duo zoomed past another friendly face that was tinkering around with an odd device. The boy was rather small, with strikingly blonde hair. He stared at his old friends for a few moments and gave a small chuckle as he went back to his device. It seemed like some sort of mechanical stilts; obviously for those that are vertically challenged. "This should add at least two feet to my height!" He said with every ounce of glee he could muster filling his voice. He strapped them to his feet and stood up, activating them in the process. The stilts worked for a moment or two, but were incredibly awkward to walk on. Emerald stumbled around the area, ending up in the area in which Green and Red were having their battle. Ruby and Sapphire seemed to have paused their bout to watch the battle as well. It also seems that Silver ambled his way over there too. Perhaps to watch the battle; perhaps to get close to Blue. Who knows?​

A couple more faces were in the crowd. One of them was feverishly scribbling down anything she witnessed in the battle. "This is actually helping my research!" She said to no one in particular, "How are you liking the battle, Gold?" She said, this time to a boy that was standing next to her. "As long as Red wins, it will be a great battle; am I right, Crystal?" He said in a confident voice. "GO RED!" He cheered along in unison with Yellow.​

"Well, I've made my decision; Green old pal." Red said with confidence filling his tone. "This is a technique I've been recently thinking about testing." He said as he looked at the sky. His focus returned to his Pokemon. "Poli, Rain Dance! Pika, Thunder!" He called out to the two creatures that were on the field. The Pokemon obeyed and preformed their moves. The Poliwrath danced in a peculiar manner, somehow causing a rainstorm to brew up. Immediately afterwards, the Pikachu summoned a tremendous bolt of lightning that headed straight for the opposing Pokemon.​

"Nice technique, Red." Green said as he recalled his Pokemon. "But I know when I'm beat. That Thunder could have done more than KO my Pokemon." He said with a chuckle. Red recalled his Pokemon as well, and headed to the center of the field to give Green a handshake. But the two noticed something was wrong. The storm conjured by Red's Pokemon was not dispersing. In fact, it was growing more violent. Red shot a worried glance to Green, who gave a solemn nod.​

"Guys! We have to head for the lodge! This storm isn't getting any better." Red called out to the group of PokeDex holders that surrounded him. Chatter arose as they all turned to each other and exchanged terrified glances and worried words. "Alright! Enough talk! We need to head to the lodge, or else this storm could cause some serious harm to us!" Green called out as he took a sudden lead. The chatter died immediately as all the trainers nodded and followed Red and Green up a small hill to a safe wood lodge. It was a quaint little place; one bedroom, one bath, a nice cozy living room, the works.​

Everyone settled down in the living room as Red tried to operate the television. He reached for the knob to turn it on, but a fierce strike of lightning snuffed out all power; along with giving the group a good scare. Red drew his hand back quickly and huddled into a corner in the dark. Yellow sat down cozily beside him as she drew small breaths. "You're not scared, are you Yellow?" Red said with a chuckle. Another bolt of lightning sent Yellow into more hysteric breathing, as she clutched onto Red. He let out a small laugh as he held her to his chest.​

Green was slightly agitated now. He stared at Red over there in the corner with anger filling him. "It's HIS fault we're here. HE was the one that had that stupid technique! HE is the reason we're here now! I could be outside taking on more challengers if it wasn't for him and his ignorance! I'll show him a technique…" Green thought as he clenched his fists. His thoughts were interrupted as he jumped slightly from a clash of thunder that followed the lightning.​

Ruby ambled around in the darkness until he found his friend, Sapphire. "Listen Sapphire, I wanted to apologize. I know you didn't mean to-…" He paused as he heard her trembling for breath. A confused look managed to find its way onto Ruby's face. "Sapphire is afraid of a little storm? Sapphire, of all people?!" He couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter. "Ruby, shut up! It's not the storm!" Sapphire said as she delivered a quick blow to Ruby's stomach. "It's…the dark." She confessed softly. "I've always been afraid of the dark.." There was no laughter now. Ruby couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Sapphire. He sat down to her level and put his arm around her shoulder; and when the lightning illuminated the room again, he found Sapphire staring into his eyes with a sense of protection. She let her head fall to Ruby's shoulder as the two sat there, motionless.​

"Oh come ON!" Blue said as she stood in the middle of the room. "You wimps are going to let a little lightning scare you? Hah! I've seen scarier things in the Rocket Headquarters!" She let out a bellowing laugh as the thunder that proceeded the lightning echoed along with her laugh. "Man, you guys need to grow some spines!" She said again as she took a seat next to Green. "And what are you so fumed about, Mr. Man?" She said in a baby voice. Green gave her a menacing glare that shut her up pretty quickly.​

"Man..That Blue is some girl, huh Silver?" Gold said as he nudged Silver's shoulder. Gold had not particular interest in Blue, besides her behind of course. He just enjoyed ridiculing his friend, who didn't take to kindly to it. "Shut. Up. Gold." Silver said as his nostrils flared, "It's bad enough that she's into Green. I don't need to hear this from you." Gold let out a heavy laugh as he patted Silver's back. "Oh come on, it's all in good fun!" He chuckled. Yet another clap of thunder jolted the group in the lodge, which led to a rather feminine scream. It would seem that one of the girls became a little too scared; but in reality, it was Gold. He had hopped into Silver's lap and was clutching him for dear life. "Get…OFF OF ME!" Silver commanded as he threw the shameless Gold to the ground.​

Emerald, despite the panic in the others, was still tinkering around with his stilts. Crystal was sitting about a foot away, head titled, watching Emerald work away at his device. "That's quite a piece of machinery you have there" She said in a rather flirtatious tone. Emerald flushed to a color that could match Ruby's clothing. "T-..T-Thanks.." He managed to stutter out. He was so flustered now that he accidentally dropped his screwdriver in blushing embarrassment. He fumbled around for the tool, but instead grabbed the foot of Green by mistake. He wondered what Green was doing in the middle of the room.​

A few heavy breaths were exhaled by Green as another bolt flashed outside, illuminating the anger in his face. "RED!" He called as the thunder added to the emotion in his voice. Red looked up curiously, causing Yellow to stir from her spot in Red's chest. "Y-..Yes?" Red said with a confused tone as he rose to his feet. "This..All this.. Is your fault!" Green fumed. Red stepped forward and placed a hand on Green's shoulder.​

"I'm afraid I have no clue what you're talking about." Red said as he watched Green. His hand was shoved off Green's shoulders by none other than Green himself.​

"You know very well. The storm is your fault Red! Look at everyone here! Reduced to mere cowards because their hero caused a storm that is here to stay!" Green retaliated with stinging words as he headed for the door. "I'm leaving. I can't bear to stay in the same room as you cowards." Green headed out into the vicious storm, slamming the door behind him. Red charged to the door and called out for Green to come back. No answer. He turned back to the group that was left. "Ruby! Gold! You two hold things down here." He said solemnly. "I'm going after Green." The two boys nodded to Red as he began to exit the lodge. However, he was stopped by a rather frail hand grabbing his own.​

"Please…Don't go Red. Please!" Yellow sobbed as she held onto Red's hand. "You heard Green earlier! This storm is deadly!" She let out a few more sobs as the thought of Red's death plagued her mind. Red embraced her in a hug for a few moments and whispered "I'm sorry.." as he headed out the door.​

The rain was like cold bullets pelting down onto Red's hot skin. He searched around for Green, but it was futile; the rain was too thick to see a thing. A bolt of lightning came down in front of Red, but was drawn westward halfway through its journey. The following bolts were also drawn westward. Red followed the path of the lightning, hoping it could possibly lead to Green. He soon heard the sound of a familiar Pokemon; Rhydon. "It has to be Green's!" Red thought as he sprinted toward the Pokemon. Sure enough, Green was there with his Rhydon and Charizard out of their Pokeballs. Rhydon was attracting all the lightning strikes that fell from the sky, while Charizard seemed to be attempting to blow the storm away. Green was behind the two, staring at Red. "What are you doing?!" Red shouted.​

"What's it look like?! I'm fixing your mistake!" Green called back. "Get out that Aerodactyl of yours! Let it assist Charizard!" Red nodded and tossed a Pokeball, releasing an ancient Pokemon. The fossil bird flew over to the others and flapped along with Charizard. Nothing seemed to be happening, but the storm was moving away; inch by inch. Rhydon continued to deter the lightning from the lodge, but inevitably ducked it's head from exhaustion. One of the bolts went astray, missing Rhydon completely, and heading straight for Green. Red noticed what was about to happen and broke into a full out sprint towards Green. "LOOK OUT!!" He called as Green slowly turned to face the bolt of electricity. Red managed to tackle Green out of the way for the most part, but Green's leg was scathed by the scolding electricity. He let out a yelp of pain as Red propped him on his shoulder and commanded the Pokemon to continue working. Green looked up a Red and whispered "Thank..you.."​

After a few hours of flapping and attracting the lighting, the storm finally gave in and withered away. Red was exhausted from the effort, and Green was dead asleep. Red made his slow journey back to the cabin with Green resting on his shoulders. He arrived at the lodge and opened the door. Everyone looked in that direction and rushed over to Red and Green. The jumble of voices was easily ignored. Red merely uttered one sentence before he collapsed from exhaustion, "I'm not doing that technique anymore..Hehe."​

Liked the interaction between all the characters, good portrayal of them. Green probably would act this way, being all annoyed with Red. LOL at Blue being all brave. And yah for Oldrival! :D Good writing.
