i think that black is more of an extreme version of red and gold. he seems likable enough. white so far doesn't remind me of any of the other dexholders.

Let me explain. Follow along.

They are not in chronological order because they were published in magazines first. But it still goes from DP to Platinum to HGSS.
DP is about to end in volume form at volume 38. Platinum will also start at that volume. Obviously they will finish it sometime this year as well as properly starting and ending the HGSS arc.
Also, don't assume that there will always be dex holder reunions every time.

I've been kinda scared to read the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum arc because I'm only in Gold/Silver/Crystal. And even though Viz has already released DP I've been avoiding them. I feel silly now >.< I was thinking that the main characters crossover into other arcs for some reason.

I don't think all chapters of Black and White are completed yet. Maybe most of the chapters are and is waiting for them to be put in Volume form.

DP is a good manga series but I guess I can see why you are avoiding it. You want to go in order I'm assuming? I didn't go in order. I went from Ruby and Sapphire first.

No. But next month, DP arc will have it's last few chapters, and platinums first chapters, in volume form.

Wait, VIZ hasnt started translating the DP arc yet (they won't until March.) I think you saw another manga called "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!" (or DPA! for short). Btw it's a good manga.

I wouldn't skip the R/S, FR/LG arcs if I were you. I know that they aren't continuous, but they're definitely enjoyable to read.

Scared!? What have you to fear when you got Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum at your back? It doesn't really matter what order you read them in each arc really feels like its own story. I started with RGB and then went on to FRLG. Reading them in chronological orders nice too so really it all depends on you. There's no rush to get onto the newer stuff. Just read and enjoy.

True. Well actually.
If you look at it volume wise, only the GSC, RS, FRLG, and Emerald arc are connected because all those arcs cut into each other (ex: the RS arc starts halfway into the last GSC book.) the only books that don't do that are the first two arcs, and the DP arc. I don't know about the Platinum, HGSS or BW arc, but it's too early to determine that....
actually scratch that, both DP and Platinum are connected. I just remembered that the Platinum arc will cut into the end of DP.

We'll start with some info concerning Vol. 38 (aka the last volume of the DP arc, and the beginning of the Platinum arc.)

The cover art has been revealed.
BEHOLD
Not only does Dia get to grace the cover once again, but (I guess) it reveals that his 6th pokemon is Regigigas....
(I would be happy, but for some reason, they seem to be copying how Hareta from DPA! get's regigas too, and that's considering that both Hareta and Dia are expys of the male character in the D/P/Pt games....)

ok. Now onto BW arc stuff.

It continues with N and Black's battle.
I don't know what's going on, but now N is crying (dammit stop crying, BE A MAAAAAAAAAAAN >:U) again, about Pokemon and stuff, but Black is now yelling more and they continue their battle. (also, N just get's creepier and creepier....brr...)

Next, we get to see some more stuff with Cheren, Prof. Juniper, and Bianca.
Cheren (I think) is telling the professor about Black.
As it turns out, War (Black's Braviary) is his starter pokemon (but he had it as a Washibon, which makes sense to me since Braviary is a high leveled pokemon.) I guess Black has always been obsessed with the league since he was little.
Anyway...that's basically it.

Oh wow we got a lot of stuff going here. Diamond is on the cover for vol 38 and is already looking epic. He has Regigigas for his 6th Pokemon? I should have seen that coming because of the other Manga. Now I'm more excited on reading this since I wonder how he got Regigigas.

We can see more of Black not having his hat in this one and it looks like he had made N cry in the previews. N must be feeling bad for fighting his Pokemon or something which is why he was crying. Black seemed pretty angry though in the beginning. That shadow that was shown at the bottom; I wonder who that would be or what it could be.

Oh I see! Thanks everyone for clearing that up. Chamo-chan is right I got the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure mixed up with the Special. Phew! I'll keep at my pace then. Almost finished with the GSC arc and loving the storyline. Then it's Ruby & Sapphire. I still like to check in every now and then to tease myself with spoilers ^ . ~ Black & White sounds awesome! Thanks again for getting me up to speed on info.

I'm only on the GSC Volume 9, because I haven't found time to go and buy Vol. 10 yet. Maybe I should should reading online... but I want all the books :D

Black and White sounds awesome, but when I remember that it's about 20 volumes later, I get disappointed.

OMG, i think that Dia is the first dexholder to have a legendary pokemon on their team O.o
well, it fits with the "theme" of his party. all his pokemon are slow (er, sort of)... it reminds me of the main character from diamond pearl adentures where the main character (can't remember his name) also has a regigigas. he is also based off of the sinnoh boy character.

the little black is so cute! i could just hug him! i think i mentioned this before, but black reminds me of an "exaggerated" version of red (in the beginning) and gold

REGIGIGAS! I did not see that coming at all! My interest is PEAKED. One can only imagine that Diamond MUST engage in some epic battle in order to 1. Catch Regigigas and 2. Use him in battle. Then again Regi could just be a tease and not even be part of his team (doubts are high on this one). Although it would be interesting as pointed out that he would be the first dex holder to have a legendary. Plus Dia has a kicka** team simply based off that cover (so very nice). Oh how I long for volume 38 to come out quickly!

As far as BW I sincerely hope Black wrecks N. I'm sorry but N's constant tears are seriously getting on my nerves. That aside I noticed that denchura wasn't participating in the battle. PLEASE BLACK DO NOT ABANDON THE AWESOME SPIDER! MAY THE SPIDER COME IN TO SAVE THE DAY!! lol. Still its got my interest.

Who thought that that boy who always kept eating and was always interested in food (made me hungry as well) would have a legendary in his party. Also, when will they show Diamond and Pearl in their Pt outfits? I thought I saw once Dia changing into them.

Is N more creepy than Cyrus? At least there's nothing wrong with splitting humans and Pokemon apart. Black does sound like another Red, so that's good. The little versions of the main characters always look cute. Even N. That's just how it is. Heh, I bet Black's telling N to man up.

Just checked Amazon... Volumes 13 and 14 are available for pre-order, as is the second volume of DP. That means a new volume coming out EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Get excited, people!

Technically, alot of dexholders had Legendaries (temporarily) on their team. I'm not sure if he'd actually keep it.

so with Fennel, she is really interested in Black's Munna, Musha. Musha floats off because he smells something good. then Team plasma ambushes the little guy D:.
Black tries to concentrate without Musha, and fails (I think this is Black's fatal flaw: without Munna, he's pretty much useless...)
Then Musha comes back after he tastes part of Black's dreams (lol)
Fennel gets the dream smoke, they head off.

With the battle against N, for some reason, it shows N's coronation (I think similar to the one in the opening to Pokemon Black/White version.) N introduces himself, then he attacks White's Tepig, Bubu (Cheap shot. D: ). White doesn't want to fight back, then Black does something and he uses the Dream smoke on N to find out what he's thinking. Then it shows little N with pokemon, stuff happens, and N walks away.

Now with this month's plot, after Prof. Juniper, Cheren, and Bianca return to the lab, Cheren and Bianca decide to have Snivy and Oshawott battle. Unfortunately, it's an epic fail so they stop. Then Cheren explains to Juniper about Black. *flashback* All three have been friends since they were little, and Black has always been interested in the Pokemon League. Meanwhile elsewhere, Black is trying to look up Tepig's evolution since he wants to give it a nickname. Tepig get's upset (thinking that Black doesn't like the way he is now) and runs away. They run into a cave and get attacked by wild Woobats. After Tepig defeats them, Black decides to name his Tepig "Poka" (Idk what possible English name he could have though.) After that, Black shouts that they are on their journey, and they will head to Striaton City to face off against the Gym Leaders Cilan, Chili, and Cress. (and I think it's the chapter after that one is when they meet White if you put the chapters in chronological order)

Why is White traveling with Black? That's just asking for the main character shipping.

lol lil'Cheren's glasses are too big for him. Is that a mistake? Heh, Black linking arms with Bianca. Is she as clumsy as in the anime?

It's amazing when, after they were young, to the age they are now, everyone looks so tall and mature. The art has made most of the women attractive too! XD
