[Event] Pokemon Trading Card Game Social Day

    So guys! We're going to be having a casual social gathering where we learn to play the TCG and whatnot through the TCGO!

    Basically, it'll consist of a Skype room and maybe some LiveStream feeds where we watch people play matches through TCGO. We'll also spend time on the TCGO. And we might use a couple other online means of playing while we're at it.

    No hard rules... just don't be a jerk, and don't get yourself banned from the TCGO client. The rules there are extremely strict.

    Event Date: Saturday, August 9th, 2014
    Start Time: 9 or 10 AM CDT GMT -5 (depends on when I wake up)

    Things to Do:
    Learn to Play the TCG Through the TCGO
    Watch Others Play
    Play Against Others and Maybe Let Others Watch
    Make Friends
    Discuss Things


    How to sign-up:
    Post here stating your interest.
    Add me (Skype ID: donavannj) on Skype
    Drop a suggestion for another IM client to use, because I'm not really a fan of Skype of late and would like something friendlier to people's bandwidths since this event will kind of be a bandwidth hog.

    Depending on how popular this is, it will either be weekly or monthly.
     
    I believe that i use Ichat. Though idk if its much better than skype. If at all. Also if its -5 at 9 and i am -10. I feel like i will probably wont be awake for most of it.

    It'll be an all day thing. I don't exactly have plans to go anywhere this weekend.

    Oh, right, this is today! Hopefully I can make it. I'm pretty sure I'll be there but no guarantees. I won't be around much, if at all, after 12 but that still leaves an hour or two.

    I should probably download Skype...
     
    Yeah, Skype is the only chatting program I've got downloaded :x

    Uh, I guess I should download Pokémon TCG online too or? How does that even work, do I have to buy something or sign up somewhere or? Yes, I am a total OTCG noob.

    Uh, everything is free I think because you're given a free starting deck iirc, and the account should also be free to create.

    Well, a Skype account is free, as is the software. And besides, we're not using it's video function, just the IM function.

    Skype room is still up. I had a Livestream up of me playing the Trainer Challenge since I couldn't find the tutorials (seems TPCI took them down completely without replacing them), but I got sick of the TCGO's music and have stopped the stream for now.

    Aw man I had no idea this was going on (I know it's late to realise but sh!); it sounds like an incredibly fun event if anyone's interested in trying it again? I'd love to get to know the TCG community a bit more and this seems like a great way to do it, plus I've been really hoping for some more people to play against (perhaps Skype games or TCGO games?). Are there any plans to try this again?
