Pokemon: Trainer Academy

"****, ****, ****, I slept in again" Ryan cursed and mumbled to himself as he stumbled out of bed. Today was the day he was supposed to take a boat to the trainer academy, his new school. As Ryan pulled his clothes on he glanced at the clock and noticed he had slept through the departure time of the academy's boat. "OH NO!" Ryan cried out loud as grabbed his three pokeballs he rushed out the front door. Luckily the Gray family lived in one of the many beach houses in Pallet town and owned a small motorboat. Ryan was displeased with this mode of transportation but it was his only choice since his mom and sister had already left for work. He grabbed an extra jug of gas from his shed before pushing the small boat into the water and jumping in.
After several hours of following a tiny map on his pokenav, Ryan finally saw a small island in the distance. "Hey guys! Look!" Ryan yelled to his pokemon who were resting in the back of the boat "were here." Boo, wisp and trapizon huddled at the front of the boat, eager to finally be back on dry land. As his boat grew closer to the island, Ryan decided to beach away from the docks as to not draw attention to himself. The boat finally hit landfall, Ryan and his pokemon jumped out and started to make their way through a few trees towards a building that Ryan assumed was the academy.
"Alright guys, I'm returning you to your pokeballs now so you don't get lost." Ryan explained to his partners before he walked over to where he saw a bunch of other trainers.
Most of the trainers were socializing or battling and they all looked pretty skilled. "Man, I'm never going to fit in here" Ryan sighed under his breath as he wandered around looking for a spot he could sit without being noticed by the other students. Ryan finally found a spot far from the other trainers and sat down, confident that no one would notice wisp's strange color from a distance he released his pokemon so they could play.

"You found Zen in a book?" Mel asked raising her eyebrow, "Oh and I'm in Moltres too. Bombed the written test, I hate written test, no matter how much I study I always fail them."

Mel had paused for a minute and asked, "Can I hold him?"

Mel scooped up Zen in her hands and placed him on her lap. She smiled as she patted the Mime Jr.'s head and nodded as she listened to Raine.

"I managed to beat Blaine, but out of pure luck though," Mel sighed, "I still managed to get a C+ on it, but only managed to get it because I was lucky."

Mel had looked at the sky, the sun was up high. She looked at the doors and back at Raine, "I wonder when the doors are going to open."

OOC: Is this thread still taking SU's? It's not labeled as closed, but it doesn't say open either... You guys have obviously started so idk I can still sign up or not D:

"Hey why don't we battle just to pass time, the doors aren't open yet and we have been in the same place for a while now," Mel said, "I doubt it is going to open any time soon."

Nathan brought out all of his pokemon. Trapinch, Swablu and Skarmory. He wished he could've brought his Seviper but the Academ only allowed 3 pokemon to be with you at a time. This sort of made Nathan feel terribly bad and sorry for Seviper. It was a fantasatic pokemon that always liked to battle. It earned him 2 Johto Badges. But Nathan knew Seviper was being taken care of at home.

"Swab Swab." Swablu seemed tired. "You look tired swablu, maybe you should have a rest." Nathan suggested, returning it to it's poke'ball. "Now you two; Are you ready for some training?" Skarmory flapped it's wings in enthusiasm while trapich let out a croaky scream of eagerness. "Great!" Nathan said; with a gleaming smile on his face.

"Now trapinch." Nathan said. "If we boost your speed we can improve the strength of your combinations and use of the battle field not to mention you even might evolve! Same with you swablu, but we need to focus on your defense." Even though Swablu was in it's poke'ball it clearly could hear Nathan. "So if we need to imrove your speed trapich you're going to have to focus." Now Skarmory use Air Slash on Trapich. Trapichyou block it with Rock Slide, making a wall of rocks." The Air Slash was stopped in it's tracks. "Fantastic!" Nathan yelled. "Skarmory use Swords Dance then Air Slash. " "Now Trapinch, you also need to learn how to block attacks that have been boosted. These attacks are hard to block so you're going to need to turn the power of their move against them. Trapich try using Sandstorm to absorb it and send it back to Skarmory" Trapich did so and it worked, quite well actually. The Air Slash was sent back with the power of Sanstorm that knocked Skarmory out cold. "Woah." Nathan said shocked. "That was anmazing." Nathan trained with Trapinch waiting for th Academy to open.

"One on one fine?" Mel asked as she pulled out Andy's poke'ball and threw it into the air. In a flash of bright white light, Andy had materialized in front of her.

Nathan turned around to hear a battle comence. He decided to watch it. He brought out Skarmory and swablu to join trapinch and himself to watch the battle between two trainer. He was going to observe their technique and preobably incoprorate some of their techniques in his battle. Nathan is tricky and witted, he won't give up no matter what. They all sat down under a tree, watching the battle commence. "Watch carefully guys." Nathan suggested to the three; "I want you to watch VERY carefully." His eues focussed on the battle they sat in the shad peacefully..

Brendan caught his Pokemon back and hurried to see everyone off. "Hey we're finally there now.." Brendan paused as he saw a hooded black figure run off to the woods, he knew that he should get to the hall but his sense of adventure led him to the forest and hopefully no body will follow him along and tell him off.

"A Smoochum, never battled one of them before," Mel mused, "This will be interesting."

Mel paused and looked at Andy and then back at the pokemon that Raine had sent out. It looked a bit feminine, so Mel had guessed that the pokemon was female, but one could not be too sure. Like how Mr. Mime could be both male and female.

"I'll make the first move if you don't mind," Mel said, but needed no permission from Raine because she went ahead anyway and called out Andy's first order, "Andy use Rapid Spin and use it to suspend yourself in the air."

Andy jumped in the air and crawled into his shell. As he started to fall, the shell started to spin in a counter clock wise spin, creating a force of wind that kept the turtle aloft in the air.

(OOC: Wartortle didn't attack Lilliana, it used Rapid Spin to keep itself aloft. Please people, specify how your pokemon doges an attack. I swear I will shoot myself if I ever see another "Dodge it" in a post.)

Mel had raised an eyebrow at the fact that Smoochum decided to jump backwards. It wasn't like Andy attacked or anything, he was keeping himself aloft. Smoochum then began to hold it's head and scrunched it's eyes shut. Soon a blue wave of energy had sent Wartortle backwards and made it loose it's loose control of rapid spin, forcing him out of the shell.

"Try to reduce the damage by using Rapid Spin to cushion, counter clock wise," Mel told her Pokemon. Andy, the Wartortle, forced his way back into his shell and began to spin in the counter clock wise motion he began with. A tiny breeze of wind managed to buy Andy some time. Soon his hands came out of his shell and he landed on it, as if he were in a hand stand.

Andy winced in pain at the abrupt hand stand landing, but managed to shake it off. Mel thought for a moment before deciding what she was going to do.

"Do the same thing as before," Mel had said, repeating her first order. Andy had glanced back at Mel for a bit, before going along with his trainer's orders.

(Sorry and her Pokemon doesn't know any moves that don't affect stats just wanted to let you know)
Raine was slightly confused when the Pokemon didn't attack but shrugged it off "Alright Reiki use Sweet Kiss!"

Reiki nodded at her trainer turning to Andy and blowing a kiss at him if the move hit it could cause confusion.

Brendan ran into thicker forest when he Poke-Ball bounced off and Sparky trailed after it leaving only one Pokemon with him. "HEY STOP!"

Mel had done nothing as the pink energy shaped as lips had came at Andy. She wasn't particular worried about the sweet kiss. It wasn't like it would actually work. Andy had to actually see the attack coming for it to work, again she was working off of past experience with that move.

But then again for some reason this was different, the sweet kiss was larger than any she had seen before. It would be best if Andy adjusted his position a little.

"Andy tilt over 10 degrees!" Mel had called. Andy soon tilted just a bit all of the holes of the shells pointing away from that pink blob of a sweet kiss, it was slower than usual, reminding Mel the only one who sustained damage was Andy from that Confusion attack and the hand stand landing.

The pink blob hit the top of Andy's shell but nothing happened, Andy kept spinning on, "Andy use Water Gun!"

Andy had landed on his two feet and poked it's head out of it's shell. It breathed in a large puff of air before spitting out a geyser of water.
