Without revealing that year or how old you are!

I remembered this old thread which I feel I shouldn't revive because it's been too long since it's previous post. Because I like the idea, it is revived through a new thread. Some rules:

    1. You don't have to have played them when you were 14, just games that were released on the year you hit that age. Was also said on the original thread.

    2. Just simply use games from the actual year you turned 14. Not like games that came out while you were 14 years old, you are allowed to take games released before your birthday but still in that year.

    3. Please use the year the games first came out in. Don't use the year the game was released in english or dubbed or whatnot, use the first year it was released in whatever country and look it up if you don't know. Unfortunately, this rule did affect me on my list.

    4. You are allowed to list games you haven't played if you can't think of 4, whether because you enjoy watching online playthroughs of it or any reason you'd like to state.

And again, don't actually reveal the year outside of saying things like 'the year I turned 14 was a really good year of gaming!' or anything like such.

And as for me, I'm glad the year I turned 14 seemed really good for gaming, althought there were many cases where a game I was a big fan of and wanted to mention turned out to be a release from the previous year. I can imagine it might have been a significantly easier list if so. As for my choices…

Luigi's mansion 2 The HD port came out recently and admittedly was part of why I was interested to make the thread. I only started it a while back but so far so good!

Rayman legends I decided to mention a game I remember playing in the actual year. I had a massive amount of fun playing it back in the day and as soon as I heard it was on the Switch I went to buy it.

Super mario 3d world Was very interested in the concept, and enjoyed the game very much as well. I like how all the levels have some kind of unique element. I still prefer Galaxy but this is good.

Pokemon X And finally the Pokemon game which I was saving to mention last so it'll be harder to guess what year it is. And I'm just gonna say it, the plot in these games are awful and I have great intentions about making a thread explaining why I personally did not like XY's plot. But thankfully everything else about these games were very good. I like the variety of mons, it makes it fun for me to go back to replay it.

Halo Reach, NieR, Final Fantasy 14 1.0, and Dragon Quest 9

    Pretty fantastic year in gaming.

    Yo-Kai Watch
    Shin Megami Tensei IV
    Dota 2
    Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission

I have not actually played any of these games, though I was interested in checking out Yo-Kai Watch at some point if I can get a copy

Let me repost my post from the original thread. I don't think there is anything to change there.

I was 14 in 2010 and it was really great year for games. I can't even process that some of these games are so old. Can't I pick 20 games?

    Amnesia: The Dark Descent
To this day, first Amnesia is my favourite horror game. It redefined the genre and I would say no game got to the atmosphere and the feeling of being watched ever since.

    Alan Wake
Speaking of horror games, Alan Wake is another horror I enjoy from that year, but for completely different reasons. Alan Wake's main point isn't to scare you, but to tell chilling story. And it delivered.

    Super Meat Boy
This game did two things that changed my life. Firstly, it was the game I and my best friend bonded over (with Portal 2 taking it to another level next year). And it was also first indie game I've played and it introduced me to the indie games as a whole. And it was also first hard/rage game, something that I enjoy to this day.

Back to the Future: The Game
Long before Telltale Games became famous for their The Walking Dead game, I was enjoying Sam & Max and Back to the Future game. Back to the Future is my favourite movie, so I was really enjoying this game, even though I didn't like episodic approach, but overall it was fine adventure game.

    Honorable mentions:
    Darksiders
    Bioshock 2
    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
    Mass Effect 2
    Battlefield: Bad Company 2
    Kane & Lynch 2
    Heavy Rain
    Epic Mickey
    Pokémon Black & White

    1) Super Smash Bros. Melee Gamecube

Not sure how well it aged due to the odd controversy from the online competitive community but this was hands down my go-to fighter with my next door neighbour at the time.

    2) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Gamecube

Really the only skater in the series I invested so much time in to help my aforementioned neighbour 100% it. We never got that far, but remained intrigued to try one more skater (Underground) before moving on to other types of genres.

    3) Pokémon Silver Game Boy Colour

This was the European release and it's Pokémon. I would have said enough if not for a very bad cold that I caught a week before I got my hands on the game. It made the pain worthwhile, and at that time I thought the series could never be topped...

    4) Time Crisis 2 PlayStation 2

...and then came Sony's big powerhouse. I saved this one for the last because not only was this the year that I received a PS2 for Christmas, but this was one of the first games I owned for it, beside a couple of DVDs that worked with it. The console - and yes, this game - was noteworthy for taking my attention away from Pokémon for almost all of Gen 3, so now you know how my six year sabbatical from Pokémon has started. With this port from a 1997 arcade. 1997? I never knew that!

I turned 14 in honestly a mediocre-to-bad year in gaming, it still had some good titles though.

    The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
I remember trying to buy this one on GameStop's website because I really wanted a physical copy. But my cart just wouldn't load properly for some reason and I ended up just getting it on the eShop to avoid waiting until I could go to the store. This was my first Ace Attorney game and I found it a great time. The characters and portrayal of both Japan and the UK were really well done; and the Jury system kept things more tense compared to just a singular judge deciding everything. Only finished the first game + the the first case of the second before quitting after finding out that I'd have to defend the writer for a 3rd time in like 5 cases. But I really need to go back and finish it.

Super Mario 3D Mario + Bowsers Fury
I don't have as much to say about this one, my parents randomly bought it for me one day which very rarely happened; so I was off to a good start with this one. This was my first experience with 3D World and I thought it was essentially a better version of 3D land; which was already a great game. Just a very straightforward solid Mario title. I did dabble in the Bowsers Fury stuff a bit, but it wasn't really my cup of tea and I didn't finish much.

    Mario Party Superstars
My first Mario Party and a really solid one. I'm glad it ditched pointless gimmicks like the car and finally got back to traditional format of multiple separate players racing to collect stars and playing minigames along the way. Having online support was also a really nice plus, I used to go into the MP Discord and (after waiting 45 minutes for a room to fill) play rounds with completely random strangers, usually losing of course. I do wish they included some new minigames or boards alongside the old stuff, but the lack of new content didn't really affect me since I had never played any of the MPs aside from a round or 2 of DS prior.

That's all I can think for that year that I've actually played lol. So the last one is:

    Metroid Dread
