    Edit: Due to the feedback from the community, we realized we made a mistake in disabling post comments. After discussing it, we decided to re-enable them since so many of you guys wanted them back! Sorry for the mistake, but they're back now yayayaya! So enjoy and rejoice!

    Since Nick was in a hurry, I'll add an explanation: the system was practically dead as of late and the anonimity had caused more than one and more than ten people to abuse it by sending disrespectful comments to other people. In short, we considered that anybody could send the same comments through VM's or PM's. That's why we have decided to remove them.

    Good, the only reason people ever gave them to me after rep was removed was to troll -_-

    But really, in my four years here I might have given rep four or five times. Definitely no big deal for me, though some of the comments I received were witty :P

    Were the causing any background problems? Because, although deemed 'dead', I know people who still use it and I did as well. :/​

    I used them all the time, ugh. Actually I just was going to leave a post comment for someone and then remembered that they were gone. But it wasn't worth VMing because it's not a conversation or something I wanted to make into one. I really don't understand this decision I guess.

    I have some bad experiences with those things anyway.

    And to be honest, I don't really like how post comments are sent anonymously.

    LOL; really? I've been waiting three days and was likely going to do one this week, but I guess I'll have to resort to Visitor/Private Messaging. XD

    Just went to check my User Control Panel - it's true... I remember a moderator somewhere mentioning talk about removing this some weeks ago; I just didn't think it would actually happen this quickly. I kind of wish there was a brief warning, so that I (and maybe others?) could preserve the few funny/memorable post comments we sent/received to/from others (I've been on intermittently, but to my knowledge, I don't recall seeing a notice about the impending removal of Post Comments in the past few days).

    I understand the rationale, seeing as the "anonymity" of Post Comments (well, anonymous to everyone except mods/admins) can potentially breed trouble (evidenced by some earlier posts in this thread, it seems). Plus, the same thing can essentially be accomplished with Visitor/Private Messaging. And, IIRC, not a whole lot of people were using it after the downfall of those widdle green bars we knew as "Reputation" on here, as there was basically no point except briefly remarking on a post. Adding to that, the remarks in question would only ever be seen by two people (barring mods/admins), and only one person was ever going to know both individuals that were involved.

    The User Control Panel does look a little more empty now... :/ In the end, the disabling of Post Comments doesn't seem like it will inflict a major blow on too many people, due to it falling into disuse. I'll miss it, but I'll carry on...

    On a side-note, I'm kind of scared that the User CP's "Notepad" will one day unexpectedly get removed (because similar to the Post Comment feature, I'm thinking only a few members on here bother to use it). If that happens without warning, I'll be screwed. :cer_cry: It serves as a great "PokeCommunity To-Do List" space for me.
     
    I still don't understand why the anonymity wasn't just removed instead, it's not like it's impossible since staff members could see them.
     
    I'm actually gonna miss post comments. ;___; It was such an ego booster if you got a good comment haha.
     
    Doesn't break my heart they are gone. If someone wants to say good comment they could either do it in the midst of the topic while agreeing with your point. Or vm/pm you.
     
    For the first time in a while, I went to make a post comment today lol. But I'm glad they're gone. They caused a lot more drama than they were ever worth.
     
    I'm in for instead of completely removing them, making them un-anonymous instead. Some things you want to say aren't conversation worthy and are too small to even bother vm'ing, and then having to mention the post and all that with it is just aghghh so much effort, but I guess it's not gonna be changed now.
