Did you hate this about Black & White's Post-Game?

You have a team of 6 in their 40s or level 50 flat, and you beat the Elite Four and Team Plasma whose team was around level 48-50. You're like awesome, you beat the game, woohoo!

Then you decide to do the post-game stuff and you search for Volcarona and get caught by a Team Plasma Grunt. All of a sudden your team of 6 isn't special because that Grunt sends out a level 64 Krookodile like wtf?! How? Why? That's not fair. Where did that increase in level come from?

Then you travel to the next routes and the wild pokemon and trainers are all like level 65-68 or whatever. I felt like they should have continued a steady pace to lead to up that increase in levels so that the post-game didn't feel so daunting.

When I play BW1, my Pokemon are around 58-64, maybe even higher because Ghetsis' Pokemon are 52-54, and if you're not prepared, he will destroy you, especially with his Hydreigon.
And the Volcarona your talking about is level 70, so if a level 64 (it's 64, not 68) Krookodile is giving you trouble, that Volcarona will give you hell, lol.

But, I do agree that they could have lowered it a little, it is a little bit of a steep level curve.

    Edited it.

Well 54-64 is certainly a sharp increase since there is no way to level up that many levels unless you fight wild pokemon.

On one hand, I can agree that this wasn't the best choice of action to boost the trainers' levels up so drastically. I was definitely caught off-guard when it came to me, haha. But on the other hand, not only are most of the trainers' Pokémon nowhere near the level of N and Ghetsis or the Elite Four considering their lack of proper move sets and the like, but they give a LOT of EXP when you knock them out, so I guess they did that in a way to help you properly prepare for the Elite Four rematches and your time to face Alder. But there are still some daunting trainers on that side (i'm looking at you, Ace Trainer Shanta, or whichever one it was with I think the Purugly, Espeon and Lapras on Route 14).

But again, I do get why people don't like this. At least the post-game in Black 2 and White 2 made it better with this, with most of the post-game trainers in the early locations there having levels only a bit higher than what Iris used.

This is something I agree with. The level curve was way too big here, so it was nice to see B2/W2 alleviate this by making the Elite Four and Iris closer to that level. It was kinda scary seeing a Plasma Grunt using a Lv64 Krookodile being used just after you came out of the league to enter eastern Unova.

At least you get much higher Audino here meaning lots of EXP.

that volcarona was a hard one to catch.. omg. i had my pokemon at around level 58-64 after defeating the elite 4 and alder(his volcarona. omg ;____; it was so hard with it using quiver dance) it kept using quiver dance every turn to the point where his volcarona outspeeded my fastest one. i'm defeating the trainers in the game right now, and my pokemon's levels are around levels 70-77. mostly cause i did some level grinding in some higher level pokemon areas.

I just didn't really understand it, because how were we supposed to train without grinding if all the trainers have such higher levels than ours? it was fun once you got to their level, but I just wonder why the spike itself was there in the first place.
