Greenlit: Predictions in competitive battling

I like the idea! Would be a useful guide to have for people wanting to learn about battling.

Would you only consider single battles, or also other formats like doubles/VGC in the article? (Predictions can get super crazy in that format).

I know a thing or two about 1v1 battles, and predicting which pokemon the other player will pick.

If anything I could help - I'm no expert, but then again I'd say I'm good enough to get 5-3 at a VGC event last weekend. ;p I imagine it only needs to be a short additional section to add to the brunt being prediction in singles (what most people would know, and makes sense to focus on the perhaps simpler format in explaining prediction as well).

May be useful to give examples of situations to help explain good predictions/over predictions (e.g. 'you have pokemon x out, the opponent has pokemon y out, you know from team preview he has pokemon z', etc).

If anything, I think you should just focus on one aspect of battling (i.e. 1v1, Doubles, etc.) I think if you tried to focus on each battle type the article could get very complicated and people could get lost kindove easily. However, if you focus on say 1v1 and you enjoyed it and found a format that works, than I think you could expand the article into a series and then focus on the other battle types. Just for organization sake, I think that makes more sense to do it like that.

Well, predictions are kinda the same overall. Outside doubles, they really aren't that different. 1V1 is kinda tricky to do, I feel like it's a bit irrelevant since it's not a serious tier, etc. The only format that I can cover are singles since, that's where I play.

Sorry, when I said 1v1 I meant singles - shows how much battling I've done recently haha xD But yeah if you say there isn't too much difference between the other levels than by means go for it! Just make sure to include references to them as I can expect people asking about them if you don't :P

Agreed that prediction doesn't change too dramatically in other formats, it's more just a step up in complexity.

Going to greenlight this - have a go at writing it, Archy, and I'll see if/how I can add a bit about double battling predictions based on that. Your choice of workshop or wordpress!
