As for newer people picking types, I'm also in favor of making them wait until the rest of us pick our types (they can then pick from what's left of the types). I think I said it before, but I really want this type picking to be done, and with 15 people, we have enough to at least start battles in the League.

I think it would be a good idea for both divisions to follow most of Smogon's rules, and I'm pretty sure that Smogon Doubles follows most of the rules of Singles.


You can have as many dual types as you want; they only requirement is that you have 3 that are of each of your selected types. So in your case, 3 Pokemon that are at least part Ghost, and 3 that are at least part Dark.

Alright, so apologies to Tetra - and the other 2 or so whose names escape me; but in order to finish this as quickly as possible and keep picking from getting any MORE confusing, let's hold off until everyone who was here when the draft started is done first to pick your types. (sorry :L)

On the rules, do they have doubles specific rules - or is that just what they call VGC? Because I do know VGC goes by the official pokemon tournament rules, which I do kinda know. However we're using 6 v 6 doubles instead of just 4 v 4.

3 of each type. And yes, we estabished that, if the leaders wanted to, periodically, we will. Im aure it will be once every week or two.

I still think Tetra's picks were legitimate, and Tetra was already planning for Fairy types, so having to change that now would be more confusing for team-building. I know Tetra was discussing team ideas with both of us, and having to now put that on halt; what does Tetra think? If Tetra is all right with it, then I will be too. After all, it might open up more types by then, but that remains to be seen (hey, I want more types! :P ).

To be fair, there are still three picks before me. Even if I pick two types now, chances are there that both could be gone and I'm back to square one. Plus I'm still deciding. :)

When I see the picks, I'll take a moment to make sure I'm making a good pick anyway, then pick. I literally picked Dark on the fly and not before my turn because I didn't want the let-down of, say, "Damn, I wanted Dustox", or something like that. And besides, I'm always here; I'm just gone briefly today and not thinking about any of this right now, and am guessing it won't be my pick until shortly before I'm back anyway.

Yea lets try to move the types discussion as fast as possible so we can get to the point. We need this to be organized after we chose the types. In regards to rules and whatnots.

Comment regarding number per type - I would suggest that a 4:2 ratio is sufficient. Here's why: each Gym has a primary type, but a supplemental supporting type, if you will. Some type pairings don't have any Pokémon for them (I submit the Fairy/Fire pairing for your consideration) and forcing three of each type might be more limiting. Have a primary type and allow for four, and where type pairings DO exist, it should be suggested that a minimum of one pairing should be used.

in all honesty this has been handled quite messily so far. Like I enjoy the premise of what we are gonna do but the typing could've been dealt so much better - like we really should've thought of the 3DS/Showdown type split division earlier. Probably should've waiting for spots to fill completely before we even started matchups. Just my $.02. I'm just excited for this to be properly up and running now.

We are aware of how things were dealt with, in the end, no matter how neatly we wanted this, it's still a rough draft, meaning all over the place. The final draft will be pure heart gold breh.

That should really be the gym leaders choice. I would say there's a guideline of a 3:3 split, but 4:2 & maybe even 5:1 (why this would happen is beyond me) could happen, as long as in those situations the primary type always has majority. But again, this should've been discussed and cemented in place before type picks began, because now I have already built a few candidate teams

I absolutely can- and I wish other people would do what you did, as it would make this go INCREDIBLY faster. If you could even be so kind as to describe what you did, leaving out which types you picked of course, so other people might be able to do it-that'd be cool.

I, actually never had issues with getting online. That was Adam. Who hasn't popped up online today so far as I've seen.

I can explain better when I get home and don't have to use a touch screen phone to type it all out, but the disorganization and delays are mostly because I didn't want to (or have anyone else doing so) boss people around or just use rules methods or guidelines I (or any other 1 person) thought would work best. Instead, we're going with group decisions and communal suggestions for developing. Which, yeah - is messy but I think we're less likely to have any sour attitudes or disagreements with how things should work this way. Do y'all think that's a good method still :U or do you think it would be better for one person to be setting everything up definitively? We can still do that be it myself, Adam, or Zekrom - it's still an option. There would be separate and unique difficulties with running things that way too though, be warned.

I'm fairly certain things are going slower now, because we're lagging around the bottom of the list where the correlation between success in the qualifiers, and activity on the site apparently has a strong correlation.
