I just needed to include all of that in the title. >_>

Puberty is something we all go through in our lives. Some start puberty as early as 10 or 11, but most start to experience it around 12 years old. It lasts from about ages 10-17 and it really shapes how our teenage years go. During this time our bodies go through many changes: boys' voices start to crack and get deeper, certain parts on our body grow more than others and begin to develop, we grow hair in places we've never had hair before, and we deal with a whole bunch of emotions all at once and deal with a little thing called hormones. It's a natural process and we all have to deal with it.

How did you guys experience puberty? Or if you still are, then how are you dealing with puberty? I think most of us have had a few very awkward moments that happened while we were going through puberty. Feel free to share any awkward stories about your puberty , or if you're not comfortable with sharing any or don't really have any, feel free to tell an embarrassing story from you teenhood/childhood.

Note: I asked the moderators of CCP if this thread was okay before going about and posting. Keep in mind that this forum has children/young teens on it so please keep it PG-13 and don't get too graphic/sexual with your stories/awkward moments. Thanks. :)

It felt pretty gross when I realised that I was growing lots of hair under my armpits, and by the time I was 15 I was shaving my armpits.

Unfortunately, my worst puberty moments would not be considered appropriate for this.

Yeah puberty isn't so bad until you see what goes on in an All girls high school, it is like a prison. Yeah you get those awkward moments when you're up on stage and delivering a speech when you say something and halfway through your voice decides to have a high note before going back down mid-word. I don't have any other awkward moments other than that but I know other people who have had it alot worse especially one kid whose parents sheltered him to the point where he still believed in alot of things and he had no idea what sex was and what was happening to him.

I was dismally confused as to why a bush was growing on my nether regions, and asked mom.

She never has let me live that down. Gdi, hitting puberty at such an early age. And I barely look a day over 16ish -_-

Used to get scared of all these puberty horror stories, but my "transformation" was actually really subtle.

I didn't grow any hair until I was like 16 (DON'T LAUGH), my voice never cracked and just gradually became deeper, and I couldn't grow any facial hair (save a mustache) until I was like 20. My body hair is virtually nonexistent. I guess these are positives? Never had any awkward moments.

The height gain was also sadly subtle :(

I think this is the same for me mostly, except I had a few height spurts throughout high school summer vacations that came as a surprise to my schoolmates and I do have body hair that's noticeable. I didn't start growing facial hair until I turned 20, and even at 21 I still don't have a full beard. My voice never cracked like most puberty stories go. I mean, obviously I have voice cracks every now and then but nothing like what you would expect. My voice is still gradually changing. I never really had any embarrassing puberty moments growing up.

Had one a few weeks ago. First crush, was using Facebook, talking to a friend on group chat, crush was on group chat but offline, admitted I liked her on there, oops.
She didn't like me back, unfortunately. Friends gave me crap about it and still do. Still like her now. :c

I keep trying to think of a "puberty horror story" but I really don't think I have one. I mean, like most guys I have a "really liked this girl" story or two, but nothing exactly correlating to puberty comes to mind.

The only thing that really caused me any bother was that my friends developed quite a bit slower than me, if not physically like in some mentally certainly. I remember getting so much crap from my friends, like unbelievably large amounts, because I got interested in dating and the like before any of them (several years before really. I started getting really interested in girls at nine turning ten and it wasn't until we were all thirteen that the others really started displaying much of this). So yeah that was annoying and it made actually spending time with female friends and/or "love interests" near impossible.

As far as the physical side goes. I'm not a particularly hairy person for the most part... although in saying that some parts of my body are ridiculously hairy whilst others could do with stealing some from elsewhere and I find it annoying how a lot of my hair does not match (example: Blonde moustache and brown beard/arms/legs). My voice did crack a little but very rarely and nothing else worth mentioning comes to mind.

Really I was pleasantly surprised after waiting anxiously for the horrors to begin, it seems this was the case for a lot of us.

Puberty was largely uneventful for the most part, mainly because I had a pretty delayed growing of typical female features, probably because of diet. Most people thought I was a lesbian for some reason though. :/

I'm 15 and I have to many to count.

One time, I was talking to a girl and my voice decides that I need to sound like a chipmunk on crack. She laughed at me, and then walked away.... I've been even more reclusive since then. It really had a hit on me. For whatever reason.

Another time, I was hugging a girl and got a *cough*random*cough* erection. Her facial expression changed. She slapped me. And walked away. That makes 2 women I can longer talk to.

I was answering a question in class, and my voice died on me. I started sounding like a chainsaw revving up. It was weird.

Between 8th and 9th grade I grew so much and grew a small stache, my hair was much longer, I was physically more intimidating, and my voice was so different that people couldn't recognize me. I had to convince them that it was me. Some of them are still skeptical.

At the end of 6th grade my teacher made a chart of people who had grown a lot. I was on top, and people laughed at me for whatever reason. I'm still processing that one.

A friend came over to my house and drank all of my parents liquor, got really drunk, and started acting gay. He chased us around the basement naked. It was horrifying.

I'm just going to end it there.....

I started puberty late comparing to my friends who started to grow around 12. I started at 14 and a half. I had a huge growth spurt then, so much that even my parents were surprised. I grew really tall and started to have notable hair around some regions except my face and chest. As of now, I'm still growing but slower(which I don't mind at all).

As for embarrassing moments, well this day when I was sitting all normally at school. Suddenly, I get a random erection. And at that same exact moment, who does the teacher pick to get in front of the class and read? Me. Just try to imagine that awkwardness >_> Thank god, there weren't any women though.

I made my mom shave my armpits because I was afraid I was going to slice them open and my arms would fall off.

Oh my God. I can't breathe.

But anyway, my puberty wasn't very special. Rather average I guess. My voice started getting deeper and cracking around 12 and gradually got deeper and deeper until the voice I have now. Though honestly, I still sound like a child every now and then cause my voice is pretty nasally. :( I started to grow facial hair around 16, but it was very subtle and unnoticeable. As I got older, I grew out more, but even now I can't grow a full beard and it grows out sort of patchy. Though it's becoming fuller. I hope I can grow a full beard in a few weeks in a few years. As for other body hair, let me just say the most body hair grew "down there" than on my legs or chest. I didn't get any chest hairs till about 17 and they were not much at at all. The biggest thing I dealt with was acne. I had so many pimple around 14/15 years old, a few classmates (who always bullied me) would call me "pizza face". I honestly hated it so much. I used to pop my pimples all the time. Fortunately the acne cleared up a bit as I got older and now I don't really have any.

Despite being the OP, I don't really have any awkward puberty stories, except a few unexpected erections at the wrong time. Not really related to puberty, but is related to my adolescences. Every year around this time one of my teachers would take me and my brothers Christmas shopping (which could be considered embarrassing enough.) We'd usually get just clothes, but a gift for my dad and an ornament to remember my mom. One year when I was about 12 or 13 she brought a friend with her. When I found some clothes I liked, I went to a fitting room to try them one. When I walked out, something felt weird, but i couldn't put my head on it. My teacher's friend said "Where's you're pants?" and I looked down and noticed I had no pants on. One of the most embarrassing things in my life.

That girl sounds like a real ***** lol

My puberty was quite unremarkable. I got the usual unexpected erections and the hair growth and whatnot, but overall none of it bothered me so much because I was overweight and had no confidence and tended to stay away from people (and by extension, embarrassment) anyway.

I think I hit puberty around age 14, getting all the usual signs of female puberty like the you-know-what (my mother won't let me say it because she thinks it's rude) but if you're talking awkward stuff, most girls get quite mellow voices as they grow up but in my case I still have a voice that sounds like a young boy. It's weird but yeah it's true.

Your mom thinks its rude that your body goes through a biological process every month? wut

I can't say that I had too many problems/embarassing moments growing up, but I do remember being able to grow a beard pretty early, and that put me at the front end of jokes. I didn't know how to shave or anything, so it was just kinda... There.

My only really embarassing problem with my voice, and it doesn't really count because it was after 12-17 (if that's your puberty "timeline"), was the day I turned 18. I got really sick, and I still went to school. Now, I was 'gifted' a pretty deep voice already (compared to pre-puberty, I guess), and because I was sick, it was multiplied...

"Wow, you really turned 18, didn't you?"

    ;-;

Some people think it's crass to mention processes having to do with your privates.

First crush, got rejected before I made a move damn that was super effective!!

    Ahh good times gooood times~

My nipples hurt for a month :x

Other than that, there's not much that's embarrassing rather than annoying.
