Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

I still Dont Get It.........

The thing to keep in mind with EVs and IVs is that they are extra. Your pokemon will already advance its base stats as it gains levels. However, the IVs (randomly generated) and the EVs (earned) will augment those base stats. You could turn a Ninjask into a tank or an Alakazam into a physical sweeper with them; in the regular game. Among experienced opponents, it is best to concentrate on improving the base stats which are already high to begin with.

I just fought the Elites using my Lucario. It survived a Psycho Cut from Alakazam and held on using it's Focus Sash. But now Lucario doesn't have it anymore. What happened to the Focus Sash????

I was fighting Lucian and his Alakazam doesn't know Trick or Thief. After taking out Alakazam his Espeon killed me with Quick Attack. So I'm not sure where it went :/
It's not in my bag either.

Okay that makes much more sense! Thank you. I guess I should have used a Focus Band :/

Legendary Hunting

Alright, So. I'm hunting Mesprit and I'm using the Map marking app but it seems everytime I get even near to the location, Mesprit moves. I've been chasing him for an hour and a half now and I'm getting frustrated. Is there something I'm not doing correctly?

Some things I've found that make them flee:-

- Don't fly direct to the location. For example, if Mespirit is at Valley Windworks, fly toe Floarama Town
- Don't use your bike to get there and don't run
- Use Max Repels if you have a pokémon under the level of the legendary in the front of your party (for Mespirit, I had a level 46 Umbreon). This keeps away other pokémon to make life easier

Again, these are things I've found that affect the ease with which you can catch them. Good Luck!

Just out out of curiosity, what would happen if a Pokemon used skill swap on Arceus, while holding a splash plate? Would it become a water-type?

It would fail, Wonder Guard and Multitype can't be Skill Swapped or Traced...

It seems that I still cannot get onto the same route as Mesprit

I am not running or riding my bike or flying and everytime I go to start towards It's direct, It warps again.

GAH.

It moves almost completely at random(and every time you re-zone), so the only way of catching it is by sheer luck.

Just stand somewhere and keep re-zoning, after a while you will learn the way it moves and you will if you just try long enough get on the same route.

I usually stand in Jubilife, since i know large parts of it's movement sheme, i'll just stand in Jubilife where you can reach three other routes, and guess which route it will get to next.

If you fail this, just retry. It takes some practice.

I'm having trouble with my Wi-Fi on my Platinum. After only being online for 30 seconds I'm kicked off. Although when I playing other games on my DS, the Wi-Fi works fine. I even tried with my other DS and I encounter the same problem. So anyone know what's going on?

That started to happen with me.But my DS cartridge slot broke. And, like you, everything else works on wi-fi fine.

Just keep trying, i found it gradually gets better after deteriorating

What's the easiest and quickest way to level to 100?

I'm wondering what the best way is to level to 100 after you unlock the more powerful version of Sinnoh's elite four. As in, which trainers will give you the most experience for the least amount of battle time.

Minus any experience boosting items such as exp. share or lucky egg, what do you guys think is the fastest way to do it? I'm kind of sick of fighting the elite four over and over again to watch the same pointless cutscenes over and over again.

So, any ideas?

Why does this question look so familiar? ...

Anyway, in Diamond and Pearl, I like to battle Ace Trainer Ariana on Route 228. She has a high level Blissey which is always good for experience. Dunno about Platinum though.
