quirks

I name my electronics and if I hear a dog bark I immediately cross the street even if it's blocks away. Sometimes, if it's close enough, I turn around and walk straight back home. In fact, I end up walking straight back home when I go out for lots of reasons. I also will procrastinate the things I was going to do to procrastinate by thinking of ways I could be procrastinating. AND if there's a pinecone in front of me while walking, I pick it up, but only if it's directly in front of me.

- Eat muffin tops first

-gasp- Haven't you heard the saying, "Save the best for last"? The only times I eat them first is when I've forgotten to eat them last, haha.

To be fair, I think everything I do can be considered quirky; I'm not the most normal person when in private. One I can think of would be having conversations with my mother using my plushes. We personify them with cutesy voices and speaking in Cantonese makes it that much more entertaining. Boyfriend finds it adorable and quirky apparently, but for the most part, people would probably find us crazy...

I'm sure there's plenty others, but it's hard to pinpoint them when asked on the spot about them.

You can pretty much categorise my quirks

Dancer Quirks
  • If a song comes on I immediately feel inclined to tell someone what its time signature is and what you can dance to it.
  • I will randomly break into dances and do choreography when I'm waiting for the microwave to finish.
  • If music is on I have to move to the beat of the music, this usually involves random tapping but I have been known to walk to music that comes on at the shops which people don't normally notice but when I realise I'm doing it I feel extremely embarrassed.

Autistic Quirks
  • The tapping also fits into this category. Perpetual and systematic movement is soothing.
  • I make a lot of lists... like this one for example. I just constantly tend to make lists, especially if I'm talking online.
  • I can't stand groups of objects not being structured into some kind of patter or order.
  • I don't look most people in the eye

Other
  • I turn 90% of what I hear into sexual innuendo
  • I tend to get lost in thought in the middle of conversations
  • I tend to feel inclined to kill Klippy in mafia games.

There's a lot more, but that will do for now.

- I walk at a repetitive pace around the room when thinking
- I wash my face at a specific time every morning and afternoon
- I quietly say random words that pop out of my mind
- While waiting for my food at a restaurant, I eat the ice of my drink first before I start drinking it
- My lips are almost always open
- I eat my meals at a restaurant at a specific order
- I avoid eye contact when speaking in conversations
- I wrap my arms together, so they won't accidentally touch someone

I tend to apologize a lot, never look people in the eyes, if there is a group of three people focused on me, I just shut down. I make lists, if there is something unclean I have to clean it up (shivers), and I can be very emotional and affectionate at time.

There is a lot more, but I don't know if I should share.

More quirks:

I can also be a little OCD as well when it comes to writing. I have to make sure that my punctuation doesn't line up with other punctuation. It drives nuts when I worry over this, but I can't help it. I wish I could just write normally and not panic over this. I even do it when I'm just writing as I am at the moment. It's literally just one thing that will cause me to twitch and have to correct so much. So, in order to do so, I often add more words to a paragraph to make sure it doesn't happen. x_x

Another semi-quirk is my poor motor coordination. If I bend one finger down, they all go down. I also hold pencils incorrectly and only type with two fingers. The reason is because of poor motor coordination. As I said before, my fingers can't bend or reach keys without unintentionally hitting other keys on the keyboard. So, I find it easier to type with just two fingers instead. Believe me, I can type really fast with just two alone. That's one of the reasons why I make so many typos that I'm sure you've seen in previous posts. :P My poor motor coordination is either due to having dyspraxia or autism.

Also, this is more of a previous quirk I had... I used to wear hoodies ALL THE TIME. It didn't matter what the weather was like outside. It could be steaming hot, and I would still have a hoodie on. I did this more during high school though because I believe it was for comfort reasons. I hated high school, so I had to have something to comfort me without getting teased for carrying around plushies during class time or whatever. :x

I sing a lot and some people get mad because it interrupts their conversation. What if your conversation was interrupting my singing lol. I also tend to over analyze everything and anything it has gotten worse over the past year.
