This is something I think about a lot in terms of songs, albums, and bands! If you could completely forgot one band and hear their music again for a first time who would it be? No need to overcomplicate this, like "it would be this band but would I forget all of the memories with the music as well?" For me it would be Queen. To be able to put in my Platinum Hits collection and hear all of their masterpieces for a first time would be incredible. A couple of runners up for me would be Michael Jackson and Tool.

Edit: I realize I should have said Band/Artist as that's what I meant, sorry.

Well discovering Coldplay all over again would probably be pretty epic.

Or, wait, Two Steps From Hell maybe. Or Arcade Fire.

i mean i kind of had this with my chemical romance this year bc i didn't get to listen to their albums in full back when they were new due to no easy access to them. i didn't use limewire, i didn't buy a lot of CDs, and i distinctly remember my mom refusing to buy me three cheers bc of the cover. so basically i got to hear all i didn't get to hear back then this year and it's kind of like rediscovering lol but i would pick them again to rediscover if i could. the mars volta would be another great pick. de-loused in the comatorium absolutely blew my mind the first time i heard it.

I used FrostWire because my 12 year old brain heard somewhere it was like a LimeWire where you couldn't get a virus and I destroyed my computer lol. I had a similar experience with MCR when I started dating my girlfriend! I liked all of their hits but she's a huge MCR fan (and Gerard Way fangirl) so I listened to Black Parade and Three Cheers in their totality for the first time when we started dating and was blown away!

lol i love that........i basically became a bigger MCR fan this year and i've always really liked and admired gerard, but even more so now. so naturally i got my partner listening to them too. a few weeks ago, he ordered us sushi for dinner and we watched an old MCR concert on youtube lol. best date ever.

Oh MAN, there is so much that could go here and it's hard to choose... hm...

I would say Machinae Supremacy. Mostly because the music itself is great, but the memories attached to it not so much, but also I listened to a lot of it when I was 16 or so, so it would be interesting to see how a much older me reacts to it now.

Ooh, yeah, being able to rediscover TSFH would be amazing. I played so much of their stuff back when I started rping that there's distinct memories associated with each song and I can't get past that anymore. It's kind of the same situation for Amon Amarth and High on Fire since I discovered them right around middle school and there's a lot of things from back then I'd rather not remember. Father John Misty, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Lissie are also good options.

i wish i didn't discover The Strokes while looking at a "Top Early 2000s Guitar Riffs" Watchmojo. and i wish i didn't discover The Fratellis via a scene in Pitch Perfect where a girl projectile vomits lmao. i sort of wish my introduction to these bands was more magical and or cooler y'know? like perhaps encountering their record in an album store and giving them a listen in my record player (something that i don't have btw).

it'd be a dream to hear Soma, Reptilia, and Chelsea Dagger for the first time again.

Big mood for sure, I hadn't considered this actually when replying initially, but I can imagine if your first memories of a band are things like that, must be pretty sucky.

    +1 to Reptilia btw.
