Swampert (Mixed Wall/Sweeper)
Item held: Leftovers
Nature: Modest maybe???
Ability: Torrent
Moves: Earthquake, Waterfall, Hydro Pump, Curse
EVs: 252 HP 252 S.DEF 6 SPD
I have a problem with two Water moves on the same set. Run Ice Beam over one of them. Modest is terrible when it has physical moves. I'd run [+Defense -Speed] nature with 252 HP / 172 Defense / 84 Attack, SAttack, or SDefense.

***Also, may I request the standard Giratina moveset, please

Here is My current Team.

Typlosion @ Charcoal
Firewheel
Fireblast
Earthquake
Thunderpunch

Hypno @ Amulet Coin
Thunderpunch
Psychic
Toxic
Shadowball

Gyrados @ King's Rock
Hydropump
Dragon Rage
Thunder
Twister

Haunter @ Berry
Hypnosis
Shadowball
Nightmare
Curse

Quagsire @ Mystic Water
Earthquake
Surf
Icepunch
Whirlpool

Skarmory @ Metal Coat
Steel Wing
Toxic
Fly
Mudslap

I am playing crystal (gen II) so keep that in mind. Please dont recommend item changes Just Move or Pokemon Changes. I am weak to electric right now, as well as dark. I need one last pokemon to replace my fearow. Which is just in there for fly.

I dont have any legendaries so please don't suggest them to me. Also I cant evolve Haunter because My silver copy has a dead battery, I packed it up in storage.

PHaze.

EQ is here for the sole reason of Heatran loving to come in on this. Otherwise if you dont fear Heatran, then its useless.

Hi people, i need opinions on who it a better specail wall; Lugia or Latia (With sould dew btw). I also need sets for whichever you think works better.

Now, don't just take what I have to say and run with it. I'm very new at this game, so I'm likely to be screwing up. That said, I'm going to attempt this.

Lugia @ Leftovers; Pressure
Bold; 252 HP, 204 Special Defense, 52 Defense
Ice Beam
Whirlwind
Reflect
Roost

Latias @ Soul Dew; Levitate
Timid; 128 HP, 204 Special Attack, 176 Speed
Dragon Pulse
Grass Knot
Recover
Calm Mind

Latias@Soul Dew
128 HP / 204 SpA / 176 Speed
Timid Nature
- Dragon pulse
- Grass Knot
- Wish
- protect

This is a superior as a sp.wall and a really nice set to use and passes Wish. However is much weaker on the defense side. It resists electric moves unlike lugia and is not weak to SR which both are somewhat common in ubers.

Lugia is better all around as in it can dual wall better, 106 base hp / 130 base def / 154 base sp.def =/. Its also a great PHazer.

Its really up to you Gofre, Latias is superior as a sp. wall, is not weak to SR, resists electric moves, whilst Lugia is a PHazer and a better"dual wall" so to speak.

Thank you, Dark_Azelf.

Also, to answer Gofre's question, I would probably use Lugia as it is a much better dual wall and therefore would have better walling coverage along with more resistances as well.

Am I missing anything? I'm kind of worried about facing Scarmory, Bronzong, and Trick Room.

Why do people just ignore this? This has happened more then once on here and it's starting to get annoying. I'm just asking for peoples opinions on the team as a whole not just individual things in it and I know it looks solid, but I'm sure there's something wrong with it. Is it good, or do I need to fix it? It's that simple people. Thanks for your help...(and yes, I changed the team a little from the original post.)

Nagging at us to rate every single thing that comes on here is annoying as well. We're not servants and you notice teams that have their own threads get more attention? :/ Nobody really had a comment but if you want a rate so bad I'll give you one.

Skarmbliss and Cress wall your entire team. gengar is the only thing that even has a chance at beating Cress and it can't even switch in to its STAB move. Even when Gengar does come in Blissey can just soak up shadow ball.

Cress walls your entire physical attacking core as well, especially the sleep talker variant that laughs at Breloom's spore and sleep talks an Ice Beam or STAB psychic in Breloom's face.

Your team also can't do anything to Dusknoir, again besides Gengar who gets smashed by shadow Sneak and with Blissey to help it (most Dusknoirs have Blissey with them) you will be walled again.

As for sweepers, Gyarados sets up on your entire team nad Forry has to blow up to kill it.

Mixed Infernape can 6-0 your team very easily and your team also has a lot of trouble with Swampert. Garchomp smashes everything and Gengar can only revenge kill it, and if Scarfchomp shows up it's gg.

MixMence also creams your entire team, again except for Gengar who can only revenge kill. That's just inviting weavile to come in.

Also forms of Lucario batter your entire team and eat it like a little kid eating cookie dough.

Really, Gengar is your ONLY means of special attacking, is very fragile, and gets crushed by Weavile. something tells me you're going to have a very hard time with anything that can take physical attacks the minute gengar dies. and A LOT kills Gengar.

i think it is to much of a hassle to keep catching, breeding pokemon just to find the right nature thats why i ask if they are good.

Well, if you want to win you NEED a beneficial nature. For example, lets look at Metagross, with a sucky neutral nature it gets 359 attack (Which will be considerable lower if it hasnt been iv bred) , and with a beneficial nature it gets 405 att, big difference, the difference between winning and losing.

Go catch Ditto's, its not that much of a hassle tbh and itll help you breed. You'll get all the natures after about a day of catching them. Or you can even go to the trade thread, alot of people have dittos, so im sure they'll have the nature you want.

Also, if you add something like choice Band to Metagross, the difference is even greater.

Use natures that lower a stat a pokemon doesn't need. For example, Mixed Swampert needs all stats except speed, so relaxed nature is usually used to help it take physical attacks while lowering its already terrible speed.

Metagross likes Adamant because CB variants (90% of Metagross used) don't have or need special attacks and it needs all the attack it can get.

Nuetral natures are an epic waste on everything, except maybe Unown who sucks anyways.

Novelty teams that use Unown usually use Timid or Modest, though.

Oh brother...

I was kidding :0

Also I have to ask a similar question that I did with registeel...why no love for Umbreon? I swear that is going to make a comeback because toxic and Mean Look plus a baton pass mean Hippowdon is trapped and dies while you send in Azelf to set up 3 Nasty Plots and sweep.

Well it obviously isn't that easy but umbreon is a monster and it saddens me nobody uses it. so anybody have a cool novelty Umbreon set? I know and use the standard so I don't want to hear about it >.>

Oh, my bad! It's hard to tell on the Internet.

Umbreon @ Leftovers; Synchronize
Impish; 252 HP, 160 Defense, 98 Special Defense
Faint Attack
Toxic
Mean Look
Baton Pass

Would that work?

Even though I don't exactly agree with your very "clever" first line, I do however think that the rest of what your said is useful information. I already thought of those things giving me trouble, but I just wanted to make sure by asking on here since although I'm not new to competative battling in general, I'm however new to playing on Wi-Fi and there for, actually getting into the true Pokemon metagame.

Keep in mind that this isn't my actual team, this is basically a team I came up with using what I've seen other people use. I'm gonna try and come up with something more original keeping your oh so "kind" advice in mind.

Its not really novelty. It's pretty much the standard ToxiTrap aside from Faint Attack.

Curse + Payback is a little stretch to Umbreon. It works nicely and counters many opponents. Though I'm not sure that would fall under novelty, as a few other trainers do use it.
