I wonder which of these lead I should use...
Leading Metagross
Anti-lead Jirachi
Mixpert (I think this Swampert is used as a lead...)
This is for a team that can TAKE & GIVE pain.
Honestly all of them work fine as Wolflare said. A personal favourite of mine is Swampert because its reliable, it really depends on your team. If you can tell us a little more of your team we can help you pick a good lead ;D

I 'really wanting to train 2 pokemon that utilises the Big Root item, and the Metronome items.

Big root, I was really wanting to use Ingrain/Leech Seed in the pokemon, and I could only think of was Sunflora.

As for the Metronome, I have no idea.

For big root I would go with either Jumpluff or Meganium. Jumpluff has Protect and sub, so you can use leech seed, and protect and sub without getting any damage, and put a strong move on him like areal ace, and take out whoever you are going against. Meganium is more of a wall, he can learn much stronger moves, as well as leech seed and ingrain.

Another option is Roserade, cause you can use it as a toxic spiker as well.

Which is a better fighting poke choice: Gallade, Medicham, or Machamp?

It all depends on what you are using them for. Firstly Medicham sucks. Machamp is stronger than gallade, and bulkier, so it can take a few more hits before going down. Gallade is 11 Attack points weaker than machamp, but faster, and has a wide movepool to abuse.

I don't understand why people think Medicham sucks. With Pure Power as it's ability, can't it get up to 480 attack?

Medichams only good options are choice band or choice scarf, so it requires almost perfect prediction to use well. It's also pretty slow and fragile, so there are other much more effective physical threats out there. =(

What do you think is a better choice then, Gallade or Machamp?

Really though, the only set I would ever think of using would be as a baton pass receiver. ScarfMedicham has some merrit, but it's as a receiver that it shines.

I recently trained up a Bronzong as my team needed a support/stealth rocker who can actually take a few decent hits. I have enjoyed using him to a certain extent so far but many of the sample movesets i have seen for him usually contain hypnosis which missed 10 times in a row for me earlier.....so i am 100% dropping it as i would rather not put things down to complete chance.
I am also not interested with trick or trick room. (my team are pretty fast anyway)

So far i have came up with this, please tell me what you think and if you can help fill in the gaps for other possible moves i could give it.

Bronzong@leftover?
Relaxed
Levitate
252hp / 152Atk /8def / 96Spd(152 in attack for powerful explosion)
Stealth Rock
Explosion
(Blank)
(Blank)

Thanks in advance.

Choice Banded Machamp is a real beast an can absorb status decently well. I'd pick him > Gallade for standard battles. There are better revenge killers than scarf Gallade as well.

That's true too I suppose. I've also had a bit of success with scarf Medicham, but the prediction is what turns me off =(

Lack of a strong and reliable Fighting STAB also hurts Medicham. Hi Jump Kick doesn't have the best accuracy. I can't count how many times I've battled someone using a Medicham and it ends up killing itself before it even damages something. >_> Also, this may not be the best reason for a con against Medicham, but he's pretty easily walled by Ghost-types as he doesn't have anything that can hit most of them for SE damage. Spiritomb especially beats him because he is immune to both of Medicham's STABs. What I'm getting at is that Medicham is really difficult to use. :P

As for Machamp and Gallade, both are good - but in my opinion Machamp is better. Gallade is good in some areas, but he is very physically fragile and is slow. Machamp, on the other hand, is bulkier, has two fantastic abilities, and higher Attack. I know some people will disagree with me on this, but Gallade is sort of in that category of "too powerful for UU, but not good enough and outclassed in OU". Sometimes Gallade can be used well, but I find it's pretty difficult in such a Physical-oriented Platinum.

By the way, Medicham does stand a bit more of a chance in NU (or maybe even UU, but I doubt it), mainly because of the lack of Ghosts. There is only one Ghost in NU (besides NFE), Banette, which not many people use - and from what I've noticed Sandstorm/Hail teams aren't too popular in that tier so you don't have to worry about Snow Cloak/Sand Veil hax messing you up. >_>

TL;DR - Machamp > Gallade > Medicham when it comes to OU play.

Aside from hurting you each turn, what exactly does a burn do? Lower your attack? Special attack? Is it like the opposite of Life Orb?

When one of your pokemon is in the burn status, its Attack gets lowered, and you lose health every turn.

Your attack gets lowered by 50% to be more specific. And it takes away 1/8 of your health each turn.

IMO, machamp and gallade are just as useful, but different.

Machamp is much bulkier and has the ability to virually cripple any non-ghost switch in with no-guarded dynamic punch. Every pokemon hates being confused, regardless of whether they resist the attack or not. Guts versions are obviously great status absorbers.

Gallade is good because it's somewhat faster, but also because it gets more diverse attacks. For example, psycho cut, night slash, etc. while retaining machamp's access to the elemental punches.

don't forget Machamp's stronger Close Combat
