2nd Gen Resell?

    Do you guys think they should resell the old Pokemon games such as Red, Blue ,Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal with the following:

    Same old graphics, gameplay, etc.

    Ability to be bought on DSi or 3DS store or maybe even Wii

    Immortal saving file

    Not exactly a remake, but just reselling the game with slight improvements. For the nostalga.
     
    I would. It'd be awesome to have. I would seriously buy them, not like Nintendo will do it though.
     
    Maybe as a DSi/3DS-Ware title, but not as its own game (after all we have FRLG/HGSS as modern remakes of those series, so really that seems the best medium imo for those games atm). It might happen in that form but I doubt it... and I would only be interested in Crystal given that set were my favourite games, but as HGSS is pretty current... hard to say.
     
    The 3ds store already has Mario from GBC, why wouldn't they add Pokemon later?
    I would buy all of them lol
     
    I mean they still do sell the games in independent stores but that is besides the point. It would be a great idea for the games to be put on the DSi/3DS or even the Wii, but I really can't see it happening for some odd reason.

    I think that would be pretty cool, but in all honesty if they ever do re-release Red and Blue, they would probably port them to the DS like they did with Gold and Silver, rather than the Wii. Also they would have to take into account that there are 5 generations of Pokemon these days and people would be trading them in and out of a game that is as old as time itself...so a lot of things would probably have to be done to make it work properly
     
    Absolutely. I would most definitely buy at least one of every gen. Why stop there? I'd be interested in them releasing them in a package, like Blue/Silver/Sapphire/Diamond/Black and Red/Gold/Ruby/Pearl/White.
     
    If it can be played on the Wii, I would so totally buy them. It's worth revisiting those good old days on a newer console. The DS would be a lot better. If the DS Lite can play GBA games, why not GBC games?
     
    They actually already can be played on the wii, but you need to use a homebrew emulator in order to do it. The sad thing is that I'm now mostly using my dsi for nes games, kinda sad that I like the graphics style better than in most of the new games...
     

    Why would I pay for this, we all have Emus.


    On topic; I don't see it happening bud. The only way that Nintendo is going to cater to Nostalgia is through their re-makes. They can charge full price for them and attract new fans and us old geezers back at the same time while the marketing machine rolls on. It's like somebody said earlier, the newer audience won't understand why the classic games are great, and with them, it will create Pokemon hate. They're the part of the company that provides growth from a business standpoint, so they're the V.I.P. from now on.

    On a side note, there are plenty of hacks in the showcase if you just want to play the originals with graphical improvements. Or you could try making your own.
