Revamp stats and maybe moves would help pokemon?

Especially since sun/moon with z-moves I have been thinking about this. I think it would help ultra sun and moon and especially a new gen.

To me the variety in pokemon is really deminishing. So many pokemon have not only same base stats but also distribution of stats or are atleast very similair. Secondly especially at the end stage of the game and in competitive play it all quite one dimensional.

It could be just my opinion, but I would love to see a redesign of the system. From more than just 6 stat fields to changing the meaning and complexity. Like for example that speed determines more than just who gets to move first or other way around that who gets to move first isn't just determined by speed. I dislike how everything is basically about speed, especially since in 1 to 2 moves a fight is over.

But that is an ambitious wish, I am already happy if they just rearrange numerial values and diversity. Especially if they increase range of stats, so that for example legendaries have total of 1000 as base stat. This will allow for more freedom to distribute stats over not just the pokemon but also over a pokemon's fields. Creating pokemon species that are more unique and also hint more at differences in abilities between pokemon species, like different eevee evolutions being subtly different.
And most importantly by increasing base stat for every pokemon, you can fix the one thing I become to hate with passion ;p. One or two hit ko-s. Which takes away strategy and tactics and shifts attention away from non attacking moves.
Most fun to me atleast are the battles in game with pokemon of lets say level 20-30, since they dont know super powerfull moves yet and even with their most powerfull moves at that time you will usually take atleast 3 turns.

I think that power creep is an issue with Pokemon games. Every new game that comes out features either new Pokemon, or new mechanics that dominate the meta.

I think the current system is fine, but GF needs to make an effort to ensure that new Pokemon are well balanced against the older ones, or update older stats to ensure a greater viable Pokemon pool.

I think the Jangmo-o line desrves more. As a Pseudo legendary, I was disappointed with it. It was horrible. It went down really quickly, and it's speed doesn't make up for that crap. I suffered so much with it in competitive, in game, it can't take hits. And it's trial version went down to a dragon claw from my level 50 salamence. it couldn't even take a blow. and its not that special. its abilities ar OKAY. It's stats look amazing, and it is amazing, but for some reason, mine kept getting knocked out, and it had outstanding potential. i dont understand, but atleast make this pokemon faster. please.

Revamped stats will only happen at the beginning of a new generation, not mid-gen. Also, Z-Moves aren't too OP this gen since it's hardly used in the competitive metagame such as Smogon.

Pinkie is right, we don't have stats changed in the middle of a generation. However, we do have Move Tutors to likely expect and that will give some good new moves to some 7th Gen Pokemon that currently have been wasted potential, which new moves could fix.

They need to revamp stats for older Pokemon, not just a useless +10 to one stat. I agree some sort of revamp might help Pokemon.

Some buffs and nerfs to pokemon would be cool between generations, but not in the middle of a generation. USUM and SM will be able to battle each other and which game should take preference about stats? And stats often determine play style, so that will create many issues.

As for a total revamp of the stats of pokemon... I dont like this idea at all even if it occurs between generations. Simple buffs and nerfs are cool with me.
