ROM Hacking Newsletter Team Thread

oh, Okay No hard Feelings. I really liked the old News Letter so I Would Still Like to Help, I can do Tips and Tricks
Here is one quick tip of my mind:
When Making at map First make sure everything is Just grass In sted of just editing one house and replacing in with a road, doing this will prevent your map looking like the map you edited.
Also, When you think you are done with the map go to grid view and make sure to of the same blocks are not touching if they are replace them with flowers this will fix the empty space problems I see most maps having

Um well, the Tips & Tricks section is mainly dedicated towards giving neat, innovative things to do with ROMs. It's also aimed for hackers of at least moderate level; the things that you said there seem to only be useful to beginning hackers, if they are useful at all. Also, your grammar is kinda yucky.. I really can't understand most of what you're saying. D:

Sorry, I was a bit arrogant with that. I apologize.
Anyways, I can have it done whenever, just tell me when you'd like to see it.
Also, it won't have any banners/etc, as I can't really do graphics.
But, maybe if Abnegation can create graphics, we can work together?

Name: Thrace
IM Address: err... Vrai has it
Wanted Position: Reporter and I could think up some stuff for tricks and tips
Proof Of Work: The old RHN

I can't guarantee a report every week so I could do a review if theres a shortage of that. The best way to contact me is VM/PM, I don't go on WLM much these days.

Aye, Thrace you're in. Me and Vrai were sort of aiming of making things like they were in your days. And this is just wonderfully putting things into place, thank you.

Yay! ^___^
I'm sure this one'll be even better. There was a lot that could've been improved in the old RHN.

What sections are you planning on having? Unless you want to keep it a secret till the first issue. >:

Yeah, well there will be a lot things we are going to keep secret. One thing that people might be interested in is, we will be having collaboration with some forthcoming staff events. But yeah, as you put it a lot will be saved until Issue #1 ^___^

Sorry James, but everyone has to be re-approved. We've decided it's a fresh start, and no-one has been guaranteed a place in the team. ^_^

Arugh, that means I actually have to write something.
Does the fact that I got an A+ in English give me anything.
Wait!
I was an owner!
This is mutiny.
And if that doesn't let me be a part of the team, then I guess I'll write something.

IM Address: [email protected] although I'm not on very often. In fact almost never.
Wanted Position: Reviewer, I guess.
Proof Of Work: Is the old RHN good enough? Or would you like me to write something new up?

I'd like to think I was pretty reliable with the old RHN, and I'd love a reason for me to be more active around here.

Yup, if you read my post to Thrace then you'd know that you're totally accepted.

My Contact Info

G'day, team.
If anybody wants to contact to me, for whatever reason, I can be reached via my e-mail address: [email protected] or my MSN: [email protected] (which, I'm told, doubles as an e-mail account). I'm not on MSN very often but I get my e-mail (the Yahoo! account) pushed directly to my phone so I'm usually pretty good at responding promptly.

Revised it for you.

Pokemon Colossal Version is a reletively new hack to the scene and seems quite interesting, The story seems well thought out and original, and The tiles are also very goods, most of the time - a good hacker would walk away from a fakemon hack, but this says otherwise! The fakemon in this hack are original and very good standard with an amasingly low amount of flaws! The only minor downfall of this hack is that it seems all the hard work is being put into the tiles, It seems that almost all of them are replaced - which isnt a bad thing but may mean that other things arent having as much effort put into them! Also, it all seems a bit too Heart Gold/Soul Silverish, yet the Soul OW is pathetic compared to the standard of the actual HG/SS games! I will review further when a beta is released but until then I will rate this hack, at a 8.5 (Very Good)

Is this any better?

Recently, I've taken a look into a hack entitled "Pokémon: Colosaal Version". It's reletively new to the scene, but it seems quite interesting. The reason I think it seems so is as an example; the story. It, the story, is very well thought out. Not only that, but it's originally and it's overall appeal from the tiles are very good. One thing I have to mention, though, is that even though this is a Fakémon hack, I won't be walking away from it as I would most others. The reason for this being has been explained. I just wanted to point out the good things before the bad. Here is the "bad". This bothers me, because the theme is a bit too much alike the Heart Gold / Soul Silver game(s). An example would be; the "Soul" over world. It's not much when compared to something professional - as the video(s) and screen-shot(s) of HS / SS show.

Overall, I think it's worth looking into if you found yourself reading this entire article. I'll be rating this hack as an 8.5. It may seem high, but the high points are greater than the low. Thank you for reading, and we hope you keep reading our news letter for other hacks, and possibly, an update on this one!

Am I in? And please answer Thrace's query... I can't wait for the 1st issue.

So do we have a date for the first issue of RHN?

Yes.

Why are you posting here?

Am I in? And please answer Thrace's query... I can't wait for the 1st issue.

Nope, and I did answer it.

Yes.

Why are you posting here?

Nope, and I did answer it.

Just revised his post. I didn't know we weren't allowed to do that. Anyway, it's sort of an application for editing. You know, you need someone to do that sort of thing in a "newsletter". But whatever. I apologize, then. .-.

That still had typos and grammar errors. You tried too hard to perfect it. I'd revise it but, what's the point? ;)

I didn't try to "perfect" anything. But okay. Whatever. Before and afters still show mine being better. ^^ And if we had ours as a comparison, it'd show the same thing. But you don't have to revise my revision for that. We could just look at each-others hack's story-lines.

edit: I was right. Mine is better. LOL.
