The funny thing about the title of the chapter is that I thought of it before realizing that it implied Will would be the hero... I meant it to be about Sabrina's will, not Sabrina's Will!

And I was going to only include the battle part in the chapter, leaving it as a cliffhanger, before realizing that it was too depressing for even me, so I had to add in the rest of it. Besides, I realized that if I didn't update for a few days, that would leave you hanging for way too long...

But in the end, Sabrina was stronger than Giovanni, even at the peak of his power.

XD Well, Will wasn't the hero of the day, but I don't think Sabrina would have beaten Giovanni if her cute fiancé hadn't been there. ^.~

*sighs a bit* I love to write cliffhangers (and torture my readers with them XD), but I myself hate them. Really. Especially if they imply mortal danger to any of my favourite characters. Which probabyl would have been the case. So yes, you kinda safed your life by not writing a cliffhanger. (Anybody notice that I tend to threaten other authors quite often? XD)

Hm...I had the feeling that Gio could have beat her or that they were at least equal...but I hope that Gio won't find a way to get his powers back. Judging by the numbers of chapters that are still to come (16 or something along...), there are going to be more battles...

There will be more battles, but Sabrina has promised Will never to fight Giovanni again. Of course there are others that hate Giovanni, so I'm sure he'll have no trouble picking another fight.

One of the troubles with writing a Bleach-style fanfic (in other words, one featuring many characters) is that I lose track of all of them. I was about to put that the prison collapse allowed Blaine to escape from jail, before realizing that he had already escaped some 30 chapters ago or so. Hopefully by the time I reach the end, I'll make sure to know where exactly every character is. And of course we know something with Sabrina and Will has to happen sometime in the near future...

I've never joined this club before, I enjoy watching the battles with Sabrina alot, she is my favorite Gym Leader.

Hm, I know that she has promised him not to, but I think when Giovanni attacks them again (and he might do that), she has no other choice but to fight again.

I've never written such a fanfic. My fanfics feature many characters, too, but I never had more then two main characters and seven supporting characters (which is also quite a lot). I can only adivse you to do one thing I do while writing: make notes about every character. When I write, I have two documents open: The fanfic and the so called "comments", where I write down the ages, characteristics, places and so on...so I won't forget them and can always look them up. ^^
*smile* Yes, we know one thing: their marriage. ^____^
BTW, welcome, Tater Tot! Have fun here and post..d'oh...XD

That's a good idea... I thought of doing something like that, but I might be too lazy to do so.

Sorry, no Sabrina this chapter... I had neglected some of the other characters a little lately... she'll be back soon though.

^^ No problem. I wish I could understand Janine better...on the one hand, I like her as a character and I love the shipping between her and Falkner (in my opinion, the manga even hints it), but on the other, I just can't understand sometimes why she does things...like in today's chapter, with getting Falkner out of the hospital...
*sighs relieved* With that math test out of the way, I might be able to post my new one shot *cough chapter cough* soon...

Hopefully I've been able to make Janine a sympathetic character, which is my goal... she may be hard to understand, but given what she's been through, she's one you can feel for. I recently saw scans of the manga (in Japanese) where she and Falkner battled... I have no idea what they said to each other, but it did look cute.

So is it a one-shot, or a second chapter to what you wrote earlier (or neither)? Whatever it is, I'll be curious to see it.

She is, or rather, has turned into a sympathetic character, but still, some of her actions are unclear to me..well, I'll wait for later chapters. ^^

I have the manga, so I could write down what they're saying. Something about her father leaving her, I remember... and it is indeed very cute and my inspiration for that shipping. ^^ ...I should stop getting ideas for one-shots...

Technically, it's the second chapter of a one-shot...>>;;; And knowing me (and knowing the cliffhanger I left there), there will be a third and possible fourth chapter. Have to see what happens in the third chapter and then we'll see if I can write a fourth one...
Ahem! *coughs* Warning: A bit mature XD Only a bit

Sequel to "Discovering Madness": "Discovering Life" (title may change later)

The woman was still staring at her reflection in the mirror, sill staring at the same eyes, the same face, the same body. She was ready to kill. Again. It wasn't the first time that she had taken life, not the first time that she had taken innocent life, but this time, she wasn't mad anymore. Or maybe she was. There was no true definition of madness that would fit her. No definition really applied to her. That was a part of her life.
Maybe she would turn mad again if she killed…maybe it would bring back the 'dark times', as everyone, including herself, called them. But did it matter anymore? Did it matter who was turning into the monster? Her, or the baby?
And why couldn't she just do it, end it all and stop asking these damn questions?
Just as the door was opened, she sighed. She should have known…

"Sabrina!" "Artur, just what are you doing in my room?" He folded his arms and leaned against the door frame. "You know perfectly well why I am here! Saving you… again. And you? Playing the depressed, forced mother-to-be again?" She growled at him. "Playing? Artur, I am anything but playing! You know that…" "That the child was a pure accident, you noticed too late and now you're afraid the anti-Christ is growing inside you…yadda, yadda, yadda..." She growled again. They had already been through this conversation quite a few times. Not only with him, the gym's manager and her personal 'mentor', but also with her parents and the people one could call her 'friends'. Of course, real friends would at least try to accept her opinion…

"Artur, now you're exaggerating! I didn't say anything religious, just the pure facts. The child is too strong to live…no psychic should ever be allowed to become stronger than me." He mumbled something like 'big ego', but Sabrina ignored him. "Don't you feel her power too? My powers are already becoming weaker, just because of her!" "Him, Sabrina." She rolled her eyes. "Oh, please, stop that…you're just assuming it's a boy because you've been betting half your wage on it. Isn't that a bit childish?" He smirked, shifting from his position. "You're calling me childish when you're the one who's suicidal, just because of an unwanted pregnancy? You're afraid you might lose your job, aren't you? Lance doesn't know anything about it yet, and you're going to show soon…" She turned away, angry enough to throw the knife at him. Of course, he would just dodge it, or even worse, teleport away just to tease her. It wouldn't do her anything good. It was no use quarrelling with him, too. He didn't listen to her arguments, and she had to admit that she didn't listen to him either. The same conversation had been repeated too many times, too many times for her to perceive it anymore. "Leave me alone, Artur. Just leave me alone." With a last 'Must be the hormones', he teleported away, while the woman almost broke down crying.
She had failed again.

"So, Sabrina, what card is it?" The girl concentrated, trying to ignore the fact that the sun was shining outside, that other kids were playing right now, that her father and her had already been training since morning, that she hadn't slept well the night before, and the night before, and the night before.
Her father wouldn't give in anyway.
"The star." "Right." He smiled, it was a proud smile. His little girl was getting better and better. Soon, he would introduce her to the principals of the psychic school here in Saffron, he had no doubt they would accept her. Five years, and already so talented…
Sabrina sighed, closing her eyes, having a hard time not falling asleep. Her mind was tired after all these training lessons, but there was no hope it would end soon. Maybe she could get a break over dinner.

"Ah, here you two are!" "Mommy!" Sabrina jumped from her chair, running towards her mother. The older woman looked towards her father with a stern expression. "Again training? Isn't that a bit too much for her?" Jonathan, Sabrina's father, stood up as well and shook his head. "No, no! Don't you see how strong she is?" He gestured towards the cards on the table. "She got 50 out of 56!" That's amazing after only four weeks of training!" "Yeah, sure it is…" She wasn't convinced, but her husband was the psychic and he would probably be right. "Heh, what about some ice cream!" "Yay!" The little girl's eyes were shining when her mother pulled out the sticks behind her back. It wasn't as good as playing outside, but at least something.

She tried to grab one ice stick, but her father took it away from her. "Only if you try to levitate it!" She blinked and sighed, concentrating again. A blue haze surrounded the ice and it floated over to her, wobbling a bit, but at least not falling down. Her father nodded. "Not bad, not bad. But you still have to try to keep a steady path." Sabrina tried to register all of that, but her mind was so tired…she wanted to sleep…

~*~
And sleeping she did. She didn't know for how long she slept, but the whole afternoon had already passed by when she awoke. Still in her room, still with child.

She sighed. 'Oh, well, might as well go down and get something to eat. Won't have the strength to go through it today anyway.' Hopefully, Artur wouldn't be downstairs anymore. He liked to visit her family and until four weeks ago, she didn't mind. But unfortunately, he had been the first the discover her little 'secret'. Of course, that had been partly her fault. She shouldn't have left the door open, but she had been too anxious to think about little details like that. She never wanted this to happen to her, she had never wanted to have a child, or worse, children. She just wasn't the motherly type of woman. No, not at all. She was, literally, in her business and even if the little dilemma of 'too much psychic power' hadn't occurred, the news of being pregnant would not make her dance for joy. There were just too many other, more 'earthly' difficulties. Like the father pretty much ditching her shortly before, Lance being the typical you-know-what that couldn't comprehend the physical conditions of pregnant women- of course, he was a man and not even a father yet, and thus, didn't see the need for maternity leaves and benefits for gym leaders. He just assumed they were rich and strong enough to plainly survive these months on their own. Indeed, this did apply to many of them, but not for the kind of gym leaders who had a freaking school to support!!!

She growled to herself while walking down the stairs and wished that Clair, Lance's current girlfriend, would just forget protection for one day, just one day…then he could see the joys of fatherhood. Oh, yes, revenge's sweet.

"Oh, Sabrina dear, you're downstairs?" Her mother peered out of the kitchen, smiling at her. "You're feeling well? You look pale…" She asked, truly concerned. At least one woman in this house who was happy to have a child… "Yeah…I'll be okay…" 'If I manage to keep dinner inside…' She added silently. "Your father won't be eating with us today. He's still at work." 'I would be too if I wasn't feeling so sick…' She looked away, trying not to cross eyes with her mother. She might not be psychic, but it was way too easy for Melissa Bennett to read her daughter's thoughts. And Sabrina didn't want to have them in public.

"Dearie, don't be so depressed. I know you're going to like having a son." Failure again. Her mother didn't even have to see her eyes to know it. "It came to me as a surprise too when I found out I was pregnant with you. But I enjoyed it." "Easy for someone who's married, no psychic and can depend on the husband's income. And it's a girl, not a boy!" Silence. Sabrina knew she had hurt her mother deeper than she had wanted to, but spoken words couldn't be returned anymore. And they were the truth. Her parents had already been married for a few years before she was born. And now in contrast to that, she was pretty much on her own.

"I don't think I'm hungry anymore…" She stood up, carrying her plate to the kitchen sink when the door bell rang. "I'll get it." Sabrina watched her mother leaving. It was just an excuse to get away from the tensing atmosphere here. She shook her head again, trying to think about…something else, when her mother returned, stepping aside to let a tall figure in. Before the figure could even say 'hello', Sabrina froze and let the plate shatter on the kitchen floor.
"YOU!?" The young man smiled. "Yes, it's me, Robin Taylor…nice to see you again, my beloved."

. Cookies to anyone who knows who Artur is. XD

Isn't a one-shot a one-chapter story? Oh, never mind that...

Very nice chapter... mixing the past with the present. So your Sabrina isn't super-rich like mine... I can understand why she's so upset about the situation. Of course, I have to put the blame on her... after all, she had to have seen it coming! (Unless she's not as strong as a psychic...)

Anyway, I would guess that the character you speak of is Will, but that's only a guess. I thought Lance and Clair were cousins... I know that hasn't stopped people from shipping them together, but that's my observation.

I always thought one-shots were short stories with no sequel, so a second chapter of a one-shot is something contradicting itself, but even in school, we never defined one-shot. XD

My Sabrina isn't rich, but she isn't poor either. She supports the psychic school with everything that she has, so most of her money gets there. ^^
And why she didn't foresee it...well, my Sabrina doesn't use her precognition powers. It's some kind of philosophy I use in most of my stories. Knowing the future won't change it, so it's useless to know it. But you're partly right, she's to blame for choosing that guy...>>

Hm, not right. ^.~ But I'll give you a hint. https://https://www.behindthename.com/name/artur The name's, among other things, the Russian version of Arthur. The Russian. ^.~
(Clair and Lance are cousins in my fanfics too...cousins can marry, you know...)

I've been reading this thread for a while now.. So i'll guess i'll join! Sabrina FTW! :D

Welcome to the club... we're always open to new members.

So color me clueless... I don't have any idea who that is. I guess I'm not exactly the best at figuring out things like this. (Of course, I'm not good with naming- you can look at my fanfic to see that despite the large number of characters, I did not name even one of them- all had names from either the games, anime or manga.)

^^ Welcome, Mismaguis! Like always, have fun here and post! XD

^^;;; I have to admit, I didn't give any hints about who he is in the story, but I thought maybe one would guess right by accident... he's the guy from the first Saffron episode, with the spoon and the long, brown hair. He has a Russian accent (I think) in the American episode.

Well, you'll find out that I am, or, try to be creative with naming...just see how I'll name her child. 0=)

Hello, i would love to join these forums. I think Sabrina is great and i have a bit of a thing for her looks :). Hopefully you will let me join.

Welcome to the club... and speaking of Sabrina's appearance, I'll say that while she looks great in the anime and in the manga, the trading card/FireRed/LeafGreen version of her looks a little... well, not pretty. I consider her anime appearance to be "canon", if that's possible. (Of course if you asked me about Erika, I'd vouch against her anime appearance and instead for her kimono, but that's another story...)

i have a bit of a thing for her looks :). Hopefully you will let me join.
Hehe, welcome to the club. ;-) I think we all have a thing for her looks...*cough* Believe me, we won't exclude anyone. I mean, right now we're three active posters. >>

Well...for me, it would be Anime, TCG >>>Manga>>>> Game. XD Of course, I only have the original cards, I think she changed a bit in GSC... Especially her hair colour changes with every version. Anime: Green/black. Game( Yellow): Red/Black. Manga: Blue/Black TCG (old): some sort of blue XD...

Edit: Hm, I *think* the last topic was my short story, but you can make a new one if you want to. ^^
