Have people asked you to say something because it sounds 'funny' with your type of acent?

Still, kids at school ask me to say 'water' cause they say it sounds funny.

Also, when my mom and dad came down here for a race, these guys were like "DUDE! You gotta come hear this girl talk!"

I don't have any peculiar accent compared to most people where I live, but I did have a funky speech impediment when I was a kid where I totally butchered the "R" in words like "part", "pork", "fork", etc...and kids teased me for that, but nothing more. XD

I grew up in New Jersey and I live in Florida now.
So they all ask me to say "half".
I say it like the 'a' in 'Anderson' xD

I live in and was born in New York with a New York accent. I go to an all New York kids school. So in short, no. XD

Thought I wonder how it would be like if I were in say LA. xD

Strangely enough, people don't want to hear what I say, they want to hear me either sing or laugh. I sound very different when I sing and laugh. Not really a good thing, but it's just weird. Unlike anyone in the world, lol. XD

I don't have an awesome enough accent for people to ask me to say anything. Plus I live in a border town so I don't have that typical "Canadian" accent you always hear on TV (actually, not many Canadians do...). The most I'd ever get is "say about!" *eye roll* But like I said I live right on the border so I hear a lot of American accents where I live, and they mix with the way I speak. So I don't have a particular kind of accent.

No that's never happened. Although sometimes people ask me to say 'inch' because I always pronounce it 'ench' instead. I'm not sure if that counts though.

I'm Scottish and whenever I'm on holiday somewhere I always make loads of new friends cause I hate staying with my dad and his new wife and every single time I always get asked to say loads of things in my accent, an If I speak like I do to my friends at home no-one can understand me cause of all the scottish slang I use lol even as I'm typing here I have to type properly, but if I was speaking to a local friend I'd type with slang words xD

Typically, it doesn't happen. I don't really have an accent, even with moving around, because my family's all from the Midwest. Every once in awhile, though, my sister or brother-in-law might stop me and tell me I'm pronouncing something wrong, though (like with the word 'ornament'). It happens.

I don't really have an unusual accent. Lukily for me. Sheesh I would get frutrated if people kept coming up to me asking if I could say certain words!

The age-old debate: is BAG pronounced using the "ayh" sound or a hard A sound?

Huh? Oh, I have a weird accent. So as my teacher says, but no one really asked me to repeat anything.

Omg, I ask my pair (British 83) to repeat a word from like every other sentence when we're Skyping or something. xD

"Wait...say 'dance' again. I have to hear it. n___n"
"Did you just say 'tomarto'? 8D"

I've lived in the East Coast and the Midwest of the US, so it's like a blend of American accentishness...I sort of make a voice when I'm speaking shyly though because I don't like my voice. And I say some weirds wordly like pronouncing the sound /hw/ (don't pronounce "wine" and "whine" the same), among other things. Self-inflicted. I could sound like everyone else around here but really there's almost nothing I want less than that. xD (People in the Midwest say root like /rʊːt/)
And I sort of swallow my l's and ð's like Tom Brokaw, although it's something I can really easily control.
I guess that got a little off-topic, but no, I've never been asked to say anything really, since I don't talk to anyone in real life anyway. But my father laughs at me when I say "what", among other things.

Oh, and I know some girl whom my sister was friends with when we lived in Maryland. She pronounces water like /wʊtər/. xD

Some British accents are hilarious. XD Especially Geordie and Scouser.
    :P

I have a Yorkshire and saying some words come out strange. XD

My brother often asks me to say my name because I say it "funny". :O

No. If someone asked me to do that, I would tell them to say: "Please hit me.", because it sounds funny. Then if they actually fell for it, you can guess what would happen next..... ;D
