Second Starter Pokémon Like In X and Y?

Do you think we'll get an additional starter Pokémon like we did in X and Y with the Kanto starters? If so, which ones do you think they'll have?

If they do this, I'm wondering if they'll have the Kalos starters with mega stones- then it'd sort of be like in X and Y where we got a Kanto starter along with their mega stone- and if they have mega evolution formes of the three starters they just released then we might get mega evolution formes for them too.

Seems possible. Leans towards the Kanto trio again. Showed off Charizard, but none of the Hoenn starters. Doubts them putting in wild starters until postgame.

Theoretically mixes it up by having something like Charmander, Treecko, and Mudkip as the secondary starters. Would not be surprised to see Hoenn's starters in the game. Confirmed a lot of Pokemon with Megas already. Off-hand: Steelix, Pidgeot, Charizard, Gyarados, Kangaskhan, Ampharos, Gardevoir, Gallade (by extension), Sableye, Absol, Salamence, Tyranitar, Altaria, and Lucario.

I honestly doubt that immensely, but if it does happen then I hope that it's gen6 starters with new megas.

Well, Mega Fanservizard is already confirmed, and there's no way the original Kalos starters won't be present in their own region, so combined with the Z-A starters that's at least three starter sets.

Which honestly seems a bit too much already, if they also include the Hoenn starters (because Megas) it would be a mess. Too many starters stealing protagonism from each other isn't really a good idea, needs to be handled with care. I mean, take notes from Legends Arceus or the Johto games, not from XY.

I'm leaning towards three sets being given out; I doubt the Kalos starters are going to be absent in their home region, and I could see another mixed trio being thrown in as well to sneak in Charizard (eg: Charizard, Turtwig and Popplio) while not appearing as Kanto-centric as XY did.

I'm thinking the Kalos starters will be offered as a second starter. Other starters with mega evolutions (Charmander, Mudkip, etc) will be catchable in the wild like how PLA did with sinnoh starters.
