Shiny Jigglypuff at a Search Level of 265. Was expecting that to take way longer.

I was zoning out when it showed up and have no idea if it was an every 5th encounter one or a normal one. At any rate... Shiny Jigglypuff is here and I named it Hufflepuff. =3

DexNavving for it was kind of a nuisance as it spawns in only 1 patch of grass that's a nuisance to get to. Took me a bit to find a good way of not having to enter the grass too far (as I don't want to waste Repels here) for them. Had my DexNav chains abruptly ended rather regularly before then by wild Swablu and Taillows. It would also very regularly not be able to find a Jigglypuff when searching for it (felt like more than usual when compared to when I hunted Whismur and Skitty) so this hunt was rather tedious despite it showing up pretty fast.

Hey everyone, first time posting here. Just wanted to share my most recent shiny from about a month ago, a full-odds shiny Dunsparce in White 2. I wasn't even actively hunting for anything, I was just trying to quickly level up a newly hatched Bagon on one of the post-game routes when this pink cutie showed up. As I like to do with my shinies, I named it after the song I was listening to (Pumpin' Junkies) hence his name is Junkie. (dropping the images in a spoiler tab since they're enormous lol)

This is my third (non-hacked) shiny I have in White 2. The other two (shiny Whirlipede and shiny Swadloon, both of which I have evolved) I found within a week of each other back in January. Even though I've had this game since 2012 (and got the shiny charm 2 years ago), I haven't had any luck finding shinies in White 2 until this year.

If I had Scarlet and Violet, I'd transfer him up and evolve him to Dudunsparce. Alas, I don't even have a Switch. I'm curious which Dudunsparce form it would evolve into- it would probably be the two-segmented form, but how cool would it be if it were the three-segmented form?

My current hunt, also in White 2, is shiny Regigigas. (I still haven't caught it because little kid me stupidly transferred up my Regis before I could catch the Regigigas, but I finally got all three of them again thanks to making a few trades on the GTS.) So far I am at 800 soft resets.

Well my AS game seems to have decided I won't be using a shiny Kecleon on my team.

First blue stripe Kecleon showed up at a Search level of 279:

All of them have Color Change. Colo Change makes me reliant on my enemy so I'm gonna have to pass.
I could potentially send one to OR to give it Skill Swap at the move tutor. It would get rid of Color Change, but I'd need to do that every battle at the start. And Kecleon is slow as a brick so it will get it's type changed before it can swap. Sounds too tedious. It having Protean would've been better and a lot smoother.

Heck it's not even like it needs Protean. It just needs to not have Color Change xD
If this were gen 8 I could just Ability Patch the dang thing

Well there's a Tatsugiri event going on, so I figured I might as well use this chance for an easy shiny hunt of all 3 forms as one of them is hard to spot and the yellow's shiny looks like the regular orange one. Under normal conditions it's gonna be a potential nightmare to get them all as they spawn alongside one another.

So I did my regular 'beat down an outbreak, beat down the Tatsugiri outbreak where I want to get the shiny' and then fetch the shiny cafeteria meal and then fly back and get the one in Paldea to show up with about 20 minutes left. Didn't recognize it, but I just had Ceruledge attack anything I wasn't sure of and it refused to attack this one.

20 minutes left on the meal so I went to Kitakami and beat down a Tatsugiri oubreak till the odds improved. I get a white tatsugiri to show up right before my meal powers end. I catch it and look around just to see if there's any more. I always do this, but this time I turn around and see another white tatsugiri xD

Caught it as well of course. Then went back to Blueberry to beat down a Tatsugiri outbreak till it's odds improved. After that I grabbed another cafeteria shiny meal. It showed up within 5 minutes so I go to an Orthworm outbreak afterward, but no luck. Turning the yellow one's shiny to look exactly like the regular orange one is just evil imo. At least it stands out at a yellow tatsugiri outbreak though.

I grind up some BP to try again. Nope. And again Nope. And then Nope again.
Next attempt after that one finally shows and I save before fighting it. I have to reload twice, but end up catching it in a Heavy Ball.

Shiny goth baby during a Pineco outbreak. Totally would've ran had I not been looking at the screen when she sparkled since the only real difference is the purple eyes.

Her nickname references the old idea of a "Mrs. Mime" evolution of Jynx, as I was under the impression that Gothitelle was intended to be a Jynx evo back when it was first revealed. Y'know, with the dress, lips, and purple skin.

I caught a second shiny Whismur at 1.160 whismurs fainted/caught total... forgot to take a photo of the encounter though.
I evolved this one into Loudred.

Given that the 1st one took 940 Dex nav levels (iirc) I'd say getting 2 more in roughly 300 more encounters is not bad at all.

Since there's no camp or picnic etc in gen 6 I put them in my party and did the Tile Puzzle thing in Aimie for an image of the family:

I've been doing a whole bunch of DexNav shiny hunting to try and complete some Pokemon lines, shiny style.

Jigglypuff: Starting search level of 266.
Shiny Jigglypuff at search level of 600 at the end of a 100 chain.

Can't complete this line in ORAS any further though. Can't DexNav for Igglybuff and I ain't breeding for one without a shiny charm and a foreign ditto lol

So next target. Taillow: Starting search level of 70.
Shiny Taillow at Search level 798. This one was very reluctant to show up.

I already have like 6 shiny Swellow from Ultra Wormhole hunting so this line is done now. Can't reunite them atm, but on the switch their only game is BDSP and I don't think there's anything like camping/picnic there anyway.

This one had me nervous. It was the 100th in a chain so it's level was high meaning it had Perish Song, which it uses immediately as I switch to Exploud to try and block it with Soundproof. Did not work. Exploud was unaffected, but Swablu was on a timer now. Luckily I just tossed an Ultra Ball at it without weakening it and it just decided to go in =D
Would've been willing to use my Master Ball on it tbh. Would've preferred to catch it in a Luxury Ball though. Could not afford to try that without risking failing the shiny.
Will reunite Swablu with my Shiny Altaria either in SwSh or SV.

Lotad: Starting search level of 3.
Shiny Lotad at search level 462. A 100 chain and then the 27th in the next chain was the shiny.

After taking some reuniting screenshots in SV yesterday I checked my outbreaks and saw a Male Pyroar outbreak. Obviously, with 2 female shiny Litleo (one has been evolved) and a female Pyroar already caught, I jumped at the opportunity to get the male one as well =3

After that I went to a Gogoat outbreak to ride out the cafeteria meal power and this thing showed up instead:

Can't say I wanted a 3rd shiny Yungoos but oh well... I then grinded the outbreak for several hours more and nothing showed so I aborted the hunt for Gogoat, awaiting a better outbreak location (only 5-10 were showing per wave here).

So I connected to the internet to see if there's any featured outbreaks because those golden outbreaks are dummy broken for shinies =P
There actually was one! Morpeko + Cramorant in Kitakami (already have them shiny). Alolan Sandshrew + Alolan Vulpix in Blueberry (also already have their lines shiny).
Which left Passimian and Oranguru in Paldea.

I grabbed a new cafeteria shiny meal power and went to a Passimian outbreak and saw this:

Sadly the 2nd shiny Passimian that was further away ran off while I was stuck in the menu saving. RIP shiny Passimian #2, I'll never know if you had a Mark.

I still had about 4 minutes left over so I went to an Oranguru outbreak to at least beat down the outbreak till the odds improve. I knock out 10 Oranguru and then see this:

And not exactly a shiny hunt, but today I checked my Pokemon Home regional Dex to see how complete it was. Kitakami was fully complete. Paldea was missing only Ditto. Blueberry needed Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales, Torterra, infernape, Prinplup. 7 mons away from a shiny Meloetta. And Ditto is just vibing in my boxes so I only need to go catch 6.
I obviously went and quickly rounded up catching Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix x 2, Piplup, Turtwig and Chimchar and evolved them as needed and sent them to home.

I've mostly been breaking from Shiny-hunting, but I did find this Forretress last month. A friend also gave me some subs to help him out with a few things and I used the opportunity to transfer more 'mon for Glistening check. Now I've found/hatched two would-be-Glistening Burmy, both female. The Deerling I found while hunting Karrablast earlier this year also had a Xor of 0.

Also had a couple of Xor=0's from SV, but I noticed that none of the Shinies from there had a Xor higher than 1 so idk how those rates work.

EDIT: Oof. Nintendo auto-signed me up for another month of HOME Premium. Guess I'll be hunting a bit longer so it doesn't go to waste.

I decided to make a sparkling sandwich and take advantage of the ghost mass outbreak event for SV. I captured a shiny gastly. He's a quirky boy. I used up my master ball on it, which may have been overkill for a gastly, but I was worried about it using curse and dying, so I took the lazy option instead of the risk, especially since a purple pokeball matches him well. I named him Halloween since this pokemon spawned to celebrate Halloween.



I hope Halloween can come to Legends ZA and get to be a mega gengar, would love to see him able to turn into a white ghost too.

Well I was in Scarlet today to catch version exclusives to help someone in the Trade Corner and while I was rounding them up I encountered multiple shinies....

First off I saw this while I was about to enter the cave at the bottom of Area Zero to go catch Great Tusk and Flutter Mane.

... then I saved and just encountered it to be sure rofl

Then after actually entering the cave to search for Great Tusk I see this:

Two shinies in Area Zero while rouding up the Scarlet exclusive Paradoxes. I then flew to Alfornada to search for Deino and Larvitar in the cave and come across this while doing so:

And that's 3 shinies while rounding up the Scarlet exclusives.... so I send them to Violet afterward and then leave the central square there for the coastal biome for a picnic screenshot for the Meditite line.... and uh...

Today I booted up Violet again for the first time in a while and looked at my outbreaks... I saw a Popplio outbreak in Blueberry and decided to do some raids to try and get some Herba Mystica to help speed shiny hunting that up. Unfortunately that shiny hunt never happened as while I was hopping from raid den to raid den at some point my outbreaks reset despite not being anywhere close to midnight at the time.... oh well...

Anyway... as I was hopping from raid den to raid den I came across a shiny Deerling (Autumn):

No Popplio.... or any other starter. Unfortunate, but there was a Spring Deerling outbreak so I just went and attended that. First cafeteria shiny meal:

Caught quite a few shinies over the weekend, so got a bit of a backlog to catch up on...

On Saturday I started off by beating down a Hoothoot outbreak just to see if a shiny one would show before I went to my actual target for that day.... and while I was beating it down a purple beetle caught my eye:

After beating the outbreak down completely and no shiny Hoothoot showing I went to an Oshawott outbreak. My first cafeteria meal was a dud, but on the second one I found Shiny Oshawott #1, which I caught in a Lure Ball first try. I evolved it into Samurott after the hunt.

I then made a Sparkling Power level 3 Shiny sandwich for Water types and Shiny Oshawott #2 showed up at the end with less than a minute to go:

This one I kept as Oshawott.
I then made a second Sparkling Power level 3 Shiny sandwich. Shiny Oshawott #3 showed up halfway through. I evolved it into Dewott.
Shiny Oshawott #4 showed up with 5 minutes still on the timer, but I had to catch that one in a Moon Ball, which required some reloading. It got crit caught on the 4th attempt.

I evolved it to Dewott and then sent it on to PLA to evolve it into Hisuian Samurott at the end of the session this day.
Before that I went to a Magnemite outbreak. I already have 2 shiny Magneton and have been wanting one, and today a Magnemite outbreak finally showed up =3

Continuing from the random Spinarak to the actual shiny hunt target, on the 24th...

I saw an undiscovered mark on an outbreak in Kitakami, which was weird to me as I completed all my dexes. I headed over and found Poltchageist... Artisan Poltchageist that is.
3 Level 3 Sparkling Power Grass sandwiches and nothing shows at all.... oof.

4th attempt: Level 3 Sparkling Power Ghost type sandwich. Spotted a Poltchageist that looked ever so slightly off and had Ceruledge attack it to be sure. Ceruledge refused. I save and then remembered Poltchageist at this level has Memento so I quickly taught Ceruledge Substitute, losing sight of the the little bugger in the progress.
I just knocked out everything nearby till Ceruledge refused to attack again.

Caught it, picnicked to reset the area and then the second Poltchageist I look at catches my attention. I double check by ordering Ceruledge to attack... refused again. I save and then catch it.

12 minutes left on my shiny sandwich... would be a waste not to try and use it. No Ghost type outbreaks aside from this one though.
Could only think of 1 thing on the spot... Area Zero, see what Ghost types show up in the cave.

Dreepy and Drakloak apparently are the only ones to show. Nice, don't have this line at all yet.
And then I see this...

Weird how things go some times.... oh well. Shiny Poltchageist was really dang hard to spot tbh... especially in the sunlight. They tiny too.


One more outbreak to attend that day... a Summer Deerling outbreak in Paldea. Used up my last Herba though, for the time being anyway, so I'll have to use the cafeteria meal.
I first went and did a few black raids though, and got enough Herba for 1 more sandwich =3

5 cafeteria meal duds. Time to do a Grass shiny sandwich.... running low on time.
First one is another dud. Second one a Pink flowered deer FINALLY shows up 5 minutes before the sandwich ends. Tried to use the remaining time for a shiny Turtwig but no luck there.

Moving on to the next day... my luck remained sour... not quite so with the Deerling, but dang that Skiddo was kinda painful.

2 Outbreaks to attend that day. Autumn Deerling and Skiddo. I did my daily black raids for more Herba.
First Sparkling Power 3 Grass sandwich is a dud.
Second one I get the Deerling at about 9 minutes left. I go to Skiddo to ride it out but no luck.

Which also results in 3 duds. There's barely any spawning around the outbreak mark on the map tbh... the big groups of Skiddo are all far enough away they might not be getting the outbreak boost.... the cliffs surrounding it aren't helping either.... who knows how many are behind the walls lol

In which case...
... I noticed they seem to be the only Grass type spawning around here so I'll just try zooming around a nearby flatter area on my next attempt.

On the 26th I went to beat down a Rufflet outbreak as a warm up and my Ceruledge suddenly refused to attack one... I had no idea from afar. They look the same and I could only tell that it's shiny when I went close to it:

I then headed to a Noivern outbreak and started beating it down but then changed my mind as they're kinda annoying with how they keep flying up and off. I then headed to a Tentacool outbreak so I can complete that line instead.

First cafeteria meal is a dud.
Second cafeteria meal one shows in the first 5 minutes:

I then head back to the Noivern outbreak because I already beat it down quite a bit. I knock out about 10-ish and get the message indicating you're at 10 away from the best shiny odds. Right as I wrap beating those 10 up I see a shiny Noivern up in the sky. Couldn't take a screenshot of it straight away as it was flying away from me and I had to chase it and convince it to land first:

I then look at my timer... 18 minutes left on the meal. I look at the other outbreaks... nothing particularly interesting tbh. I go to a Tandemaus outbreak and knock everything out. No shiny. Wouldn't have noticed it manually anyway so I just kept knocking them out =P
I then just fly around Kitakami for the remaining time hoping for some random shiny, but nope. Can't complain though... 2 shinies on 1 cafeteria meal.

Dewpider outbreak on the 28th. I actually wanted one but wasn't expecting it... wanna try a shiny Araquanid against the Feraligatr raid. Probably not gonna go well, but just wanna try =P

1st Bug Sparkling Sandwich... a Dewpider shows up right as the meal power is about to end.

There was also a Sneasel outbreak... but I only got 1 Herba remaining and by the time I'm done doing raids for more the outbreaks will reset due to the date rolling over... unfortunate.
No... actually got 1 attempt in, but no shiny Sneasel during it. To long a workday to do much more tbh. *shrugs*

Did a favorite Shiny by aesthetic thing. Wouldn't have pegged Nidoran-M for my #1 (I previously thought Corsola or Tyrogue) but here we are!



Quite a few of these I haven't full-odds hunted yet. Averaging them with my general faves, however, I get the following as my top 10—all of which I have acquired at full-odds, barring Mew (unless my Gold Star Mew card counts):

I'm reluctant to hunt anymore 'vees since I'm already so attached to my Flareon and I'm less inclined to hunt Legendaries since I'm not apt to use them, but Gallade and Girafarig are definitely on my wishlist.

I only got 1 shiny sandwhich in, but walked away with 2 shiny Piplup regardless.
Kinda felt bugged... most I saw at once was about 10 Piplup... but apparently that's a lot of Piplup as barely any spawn at all without it @_@

December 1st; a Popplio outbreak.
First Water Sparkling sandwich: 2 shiny Popplio. I had like 6-7 minutes left but opted to catch the second one in a Love Ball anyway.
It didn't go in and it disappeared upon reloading. Reloaded again and it was back and it crit caught in the Love Ball.

Second Water Sparkling sandwich. A shiny Popplio shows up with 5 minutes left on the clock. Went to where the Piplups live to ride it out but barely saw any, let alone a shiny. Really need an outbreak when you can't isolate them tbh.

I then went to a Rufflet outbreak. First Flying type Sparkling Sandwich... nothing at all
Second sandwich... well... a Rookidee showed up at the edge of the Rufflet outbreak... but no Rufflet
Can't reset though as Rookidee is still on my todo list too.

When you go to a Rufflet outbreak and walk away with a shiny Rookidee @_@

December 2nd:
Flying shiny sandwich nets me a shiny Braviary at an outbreak of them, but nothing else... I went to a Rookidee outbreak afterward

A shiny cafeteria meal then gets me a shiny Rookidee at the same outbreak on the next attempt. Caught it in a Heavy Ball first try.
I then go to a male Oinkologne outbreak after but nothing shows.

Then another dud meal, and after that I combine this outbreak with a Minior one which I beat down completely before going to Oinkologne.
4 rounds of this and nothing to show for it.

At the end of the session I evolved both Rookidees and had them join the one I already had for a family get together =3
