"Okay then, this was unexpected, but.." Kayley paused in thought for a bit. She had been training with Fishy for a long time now, and yet she had only battled a wild Pokemon like this once before. She knew many strategies by heart, and yet she had only tested them in real battles a few times. This would be a great oppurtunity to try out a few techniques..
"Fishy! Rain Dance, then Mud-Slap!" She shouted, failing to make any poses or actions that would've made the command a bit more intimidating.
Fishy toothily grinned -- he had always loved practicing this one. The Mudkip began to hop around the area, but in a somewhat graceful manner, stopping every few hops to wag his tail or twirl in place a bit before continuing his dance that seemed oddly perfected.
In several moments' time, the clouds had darkened profusely, casting a large shadow upon the land, almost as far as the eye could see. And after several more seconds of Fishy's ritual, rain had begun to pour down onto the Earth. Kayley paused to put her hood up, knowing that the rain would get worse.
The Ghastly tilted her head in wonder, having never seen a Rain Dance being performed before.
But as she was doing that, Fishy plunged his tail fin into the newly formed mud that made up the ground, scooping up a good deal of it as he lifted his tail back up, keeping his tail level so as not to drop the mud.
It was then that Hazy snapped into realization, flashing before instantly splitting into two Ghastlies, then those two split into two, the process repeating itself until the Double Team was complete, every copy of Hazy including the real thing grinning with slight relief.
The momentum of Fishy's attack forced him to launch it anyways, the tail-full of mud flinging towards the new horde of Ghastly and eliminating the three copies it struck. However, that didn't make much of a difference, considering that by this time Hazy had made enough copies in total to make up for the loss.
Kayley frowned, considering the options before giving another command to Fishy.
Neither Kayley, Fishy, nor Hazy seemed to notice anything besides the battle they were now locked in.
