Siblings.

I have a younger sister. Our personalities are complete opposites (she's hyper, I'm easy-going, she's a risk-taker and I'm not, etc.) but we've always gotten along. :)

I have an older bro who shares my interest in video games and such. We used to play fight a lot as kids. But yeah we get on pretty well.

I am a twin, and I'm pretty close to my twin sister. We're freternal twins, so we don't look alike, but that doesn't stop people from saying we do. Anyway, my sister is basically the yang to my yin. She's more outgoing and talkative, while I'm more quiet and introverted. I was born first (though she likes to deny this), so I jokingly call her the baby of our family, even though we're the same age.

I don't know if this would count as a crazy sibling story, but I've experienced situations where my sister would know exactly what I was thinking and finish my sentences for me or vice versa. Twin telepathy at its finest! ^^

I don't really have much stories, as my brothers and I (who are 5 and 7 years older than me) never really got along until about three years ago. They both hit puberty first of course, and my eldest brother used to be super emo (no joke, had tons of Asking Alexandria shirts and blasted screamo a lot from the basement, thank goodness he was down there at least as then I didn't like the music LOL) so he really didn't like me and thought I was annoying.

Come the last three years though we've bonded a lot more, even if we're technically only half-siblings (different fathers) I've never really thought of it as having mattered. The only funny stories I can think about is that my brother 5 years older than me used to play around with Littlest Pet Shop figures with me when I was younger, up until I was about 10. xD He tripped over the huge LPS house I had way back when and nearly went into the glass table. It was pretty funny since young me didn't know how unsafe that was at the time, I'm just glad he didn't get hurt holy crap.

But yeah, even if we haven't been super close until the past few years, I still love my brothers, even if the eldest moved out three years or so back and the other's moving out soon (he hasn't been home for a full day in almost a month now, living pretty much with his girlfriend lol), and we're supposed to be going three hours west to see my eldest brother so. s: At least we'll be seeing them soon.

I have a younger sister and younger brother and we all get along great. My younger sister is very talented at Softball and we all go to her games and cheer her on. She is going into the 10th grade this year. My younger brother is also a huge Soccer player and we love cheering on his games. He will be entering the 8th grade this year. They also all come and support me at my swim meets.

I have a half sister who is around 20 years older than me and she's off living in another state ATM and a stepbrother who I've only seen four or five times (he's around my sister's age). Not in contact with the two of them a lot nowadays, but my sister and I were pretty close before she left. But, I do have various other family members around my own age I could consider siblings (like nieces/nephews and cousins).

I have a lot of siblings lol. I have a 21 year old sister, a 14 year old sister, a 12 year old brother, a 7 year old step brother, a 5 year old step brother and a 2 year old half brother. Woo. \o/

I am an only child, but I have a bff who is like a sister to me. We do tons of stuff together. She has been on many vacations with me and my mom and I have gone with her family on trips. We have been friends since we were 4 years old. She is the biggest goof in the world and I love spending time with her.

I have six sisters which is unfortunate because they would all cycle up with the moon and yeah that was not cool man, it was pretty much 90 percent of why I bailed out of that house once I turned 18

My siblings are both boys and much older then me and they`re in their late twenties so I never grew up with them but both siblings are completely different from each other.
R is so mature and a family man with a pretty fiancee who are getting married with a six year old son he always treats me really good and a very social person going football and drinking with other lads.

L is very child-like and always has a problem every week especially with his ex, he is a user basically. He takes your help and then slags you of behind your back. I dont get along with him that much and he is only nice when he wants something. But I have to admit he is quite good with children and good to have some banter with him.

I have two younger brothers, one age 8 and the other age 13, and we have some pretty fun moments, but nothing really crazy.

My youngest brother is actually really similar to the weird side of me. I don't know why, for he's really close to my other brother. *shrugs*
My other brother on the other hand, is pretty different from me. While I'm quirky and loud, he's more normal and soft-spoken, and witty as well.

Because we started homeschooling a couple of years ago, we now spend a lot more time together (Yipee :|). Resulting us becoming closer and them becoming more annoying to me. {XD}

Actually, I've always wanted a little sister. I guess that's why the majority of roleplay characters have a younger sister or a sister-like friend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Siblings & only children

I wanted to gear this towards both of you. Those who have siblings and those that don't.

For those with siblings: Do you like having them? What are some things you like/dislike about having siblings? Do you ever have moments when you wish you could be an only child?

For only children: Do you like being an only child? Have you ever wished you could have at least one sibling? Are there any reasons why your parents decided not to have more kids?

For me, I'm an only child. I don't mind it much because it means more chances for being spoiled by them. 8D Joking aside though, I do wish I could have had an older sibling. I've always wanted someone who could look out for me physically and always be there. However though, my mom can't have more kids. Even then, she was lucky to have had me alone too. Her health wasn't the greatest because she also had cervical cancer at the time. I was a big baby also, and when she had me... it took out a lot of energy for her and caused other problems as well. I was born via c-section because of my size. She decided to have a hysterectomy after my birth. Thus, ending my chances of even getting a younger sibling. She considers me to be her miracle child too because doctors had told her she would never be able to have children... yet here I am. :D

So, what about you guys?

I have a younger sibling. Before we used to have some common interests and talked often, but then we started other interests and not talk as much. Lately I've been jealous of her as she seems to have a better social life, seems to know what she wants to do now while I'm still figuring that out, and several other things. This is probably immature of me to still do that since I'm almost in my 30s, but can't help myself feel this way sometimes. On occasion I do wonder what happens if I'm an only child and if I won't feel jealous anymore, but I feel bad feeling this way since my sister did nothing wrong to me really.

I'm an only child and personally I enjoy it the majority of the time. I like spending time alone sometimes and I have two cousins who live in the same town as me and I'm really close to them so it's like I have a Brother and Sister anyway :)

I do like having siblings. I have two sisters, a younger 11 year old and an older 23 year old. I'm closer to my younger sister than older because my older one didn't live with us the majority of the time I was growing up. I did have a twin though but she died after a couple weeks. Some things I dislike about having siblings are that sometimes they're very nosy and bossy. Sometimes I do wish I was an only child but a lot of the time I like having sisters. It would feel weird without them.

I have a sibling. She is younger than me. The plus side of having a sibling is that I have a free place to stay when I decide to go vacation in Florida. The downside is that she lives 1100 miles away from me.

I am an only child, and I have never regretted it. I think my parents originally planned on having a second child, but that didn't end up happening, so it's just me. I've always had a really good relationship with my parents, and I like the dynamic of our three-person family unit. Most of the people I know who have siblings don't get along that well with them, so while I know that sibling relationships can be really strong under the right circumstances, there's also a sizable chance that siblings won't get along, and I'm glad I haven't had to deal with that. My relatively small extended family is plenty for me, and I prefer filling in the rest of my social network with friends of my own choosing.

That said, I'm sure if I had grown up with siblings, I would have a hard time imagining life without them.

Yes! I'm the youngest of 4 with 2 older sisters and 1 older brother. Growing up we barely bonded because everyone had different interests and friends, but as we all got older and more mature. Siblings are the best! You can trust them with anything no matter what(except my oldest sister who acts like my mom) but heck...nowadays my two older sisters acts like my suga mama, and my brother may be a bitch sometimes, but we play games together and go out driving and pool hall, and we both check out girls :D

Sometimes I wish i was an only child, but my best friend, and favorite cousin is one. growing up with them, yeah they get spoiled, but they're both kind of carefree and wild boyz. MAybe if they had a sibling they would act more responsible or adult like idk... but those guys are wild LOL.

I have two older half-brothers (14 & 18 years older than me) and I couldn't have asked for better people to have in my life - words can't describe how thankful I am to always have these guys looking out for me and supporting me. but i will try, as evidenced by this very long post ahead, sorry

Because our dad is so busy and the oldest of my two brothers was already an adult by the time I was born, he often took on the role of my 'dad' in driving me places when I was a kid a lot, and even before that I know he was the one who took my mom to get her ultrasounds and checkups and all that. And the younger of my brothers always took me fun places when I was little; he was also the one I turned to when I found myself in trouble that my parents couldn't find out about since he was old enough to give advice and help without scolding me or anything like that, haha.

Even now they still take time out of their busy lives to hang out with me and take me to cool places whenever they can. Our relationships have changed a bit from guardian/kid to friends now that we're technically all "adults", but they're still always looking out for me. And I know I'll always be the "baby sister" no matter what - I think it was only like two weeks ago, when I was sitting on the couch and watching TV with one of my brothers, and he suddenly hugged me and said "WHEN DID YOU GET SO BIG, BABY SISTER. REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE THIS LITTLE?" gestures the size of a cushion. :P

I am my mom's only child though, and I never lived in the same house as my brothers so most of the time it's like I'm an only child. I remember when I was younger I wanted a little sister, but mostly only because I wished my parents would not be so protective of me and let me go out more; I thought they would loosen their grip on me if I had a younger sibling for them to care for, haha.

But I still do wish I had a sibling that was closer to my age - my mom's best friend is her sister, who is only four years younger than her and my brothers are also four years apart and really close as well, so I'm a little jealous of that kind of relationship. :)
