Kanto - Never really played through a Kanto game.
    Johto - Crobat
    Hoenn - Crobat & Azumarill
    Sinnoh - Crobat
    Unova - Tabunne Audino

Fun fact: All my Crobat are male and named Duke, my Azumarill are male and named Moist, and my Audino are female and named Joy.

I grew up mostly playing Yellow and Silver, so when Silver was around and I understood more about the game, I was instantly attached to Umbreon. Umbreon is probably one of the reasons I've become mostly nocturnal, to be honest. In every game after Gen II besides RSE where I couldn't get one, Umbreon has always been a part of my team.

    I Love Umbreon~<3

Dragonite. A bit hard to keep, but worth it and just amazing. Also I rarely step out without a member of the Ralts line, especially in Generation III.

    Red/Blue/Yellow - Machamp
    Gold/Silver - Feraligatr and Ampharos
    Crystal - Feraligatr
    Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - Swellow and Manectric
    FireRed/LeafGreen - Raichu and Pidgeot
    Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - Staraptor and Luxray
HeartGold/LeafGreen - Ampharos, Victreebel, Arcanine and Poliwrath (with my starter replacing whichever equivalent type out of Victreebel, Arcanine and Poliwrath)

I can't say a signature for Black and White, given I'm on my first run...but the way things are going, it'd probably end up being Sawk and Haxorus.

Machamp was my all-time fave Fighting-type before Sawk...I would go out my way to get one (back then I had two Game Boy Colors so wasn't too difficult!). As for Ampharos, I've never been keen on having a member of my team having someone else as its OT so I didn't bother with it on Crystal.

The other concern was how much I relied on such a similar team on HG/SS...but if it works, don't meddle with it :)

Hmm... I would have to say Ninetales :)

There are others that I have to have in each specific game, and again others that I try to get in every game but if I'm only picking one... yeah Ninetales :)

Crobat is becoming one for me, unintentionally.
Also, the Bug type should be seeing more use from me, if I get a new copy of Gen V. Bugs are awesome, and Gen V has the best of them.
Venomoth is becoming one from Kanto based games.
    Edit: forgot the Nidorans

    Lapras.

I will always have a Lapras at some point in any mainstream pokemon game.

Whenever I can, I always try to get an Aerodactyl on my team. So quick and so strong! Likewise Heracross, mainly for Megahorn, but also because it's awesome!

I used to be this way with Lapras as well, but the damn thing is so hard to find in Black version that I may just give that one up for a Kingdra or something similar; Houndoom, another favourite, may get replaced by Chandelure as well.

    Kanto: Err... Pidgeot, probably.
    Johto: Feraligatr and/or Espeon
Hoenn: Flygon or Absol, I guess
Sinnoh: Eh, Luxray. It's on both my Pearl and Platinum teams, so why not.
Unova: Not too sure yet, but I'm assuming it'll either be Reuniclus or Shandera.

I try to have different teams for each of my games so I learn to have a more variety of Pokemon, so I pretty much picked a favorite from each Generation for the most part.

Get this. When I was a youngster playing Blue version, I collected Weedle. Just Weedle; I didn't evolve them. That was my signature Pokémon back then. Looking back, I honestly have no clue what that was about.

Now, you could say my signature Pokémon is Octillery. I never leave home without one, and there's quite often one on my competitive teams.
