Silly notions as a child

I used to be really paranoid about swimming in pools (or any other kind of water) at night. XD I think that was due to the fact that I watched JAWS at a pretty early age, and always worried that something I couldn't see underwater -- especially a shark -- was going to get me.

I've pretty much outgrown that now, unless I'm at the beach or something. Despite the fact that I love to swim and I'm really good at it, you couldn't pay me to go near murky ocean water. XD It still creeps me out too much!

Yeah...I watched the old space jams video in 1990 something, "I believe I can fly", men I jumped from the solpha with my eyes closed and got the shock of my life...bruises on my lips; I couldn't fly.

I had a massive fear of seagulls stemming from an incident where I was cornered by one when I was two. :3

I still fear them to this day, although it's not as bad. XD;

I believed that cartoons were real. It was a very long time until I found out the truth

Cartoons are fake?!?

Honestly, I thought that the chicken pox turned you into a chicken, so my body became 100% immune to it. I hope....

like many, I thought I could fly ._.

ou must've seen the chickenpox episode of Dexter's Laboratory WAAAY to many times! xDD

Lol! I actually thought the moon was made of cheese. XD

No really, I've always wished it was made from cheese! XD

I use to think as a child:

I had monsters under my bed
I though the moon was made of cheese (one time I saw that the moon was big and orange, and I thought it looked like cheese)

I think there were some more...

Hmm, off the top of my head..

My older brother told me my bum would grow square if I watch too much television.. =/ I believed him.
I was convinced Michael Jackson was a woman.
I was terrified of marionettes and (to this day) clowns.
And I believed boys were living incubuses of cooties.

T_T

I'll have to go think to remember the rest..

Hrmmm; where to start? I cannot remember much from my early childhood in terms of being afraid of things or thinking silly things, but I have to have something DD:

Well, I believed that pancakes were really called panny-cakes until I was nine or so. My mom and I had the nickname for them and that's just what I grew up knowing. Unfortunately, I had to find out after getting into an arguement with my fourth grade class on the correct terminology. XDD

Ohh ohh!!! I completely forgot about this. When I was four and five, I grew up with two kids my age and one kid a year older than me. The kid who was older than me suggested that we drink coca cola at my best friends house (one of the kids my age). We took it out, and poured it. I took a sip and the older girl said "WAIT WAIT DON'T DRINK THAT!!!" I took the drink away from my mouth right away and she said "If you drink the fizz, then you'll blow up and die!" not jokingly. ;/ So when I said I took a sip, she told me that I probably wouldn't die, but to never ever do it again. I believed I'd die drinking the fizz until I was seven, and to this day, if I ever drink soda, I wait for the fizz to go down even though I know it's safe.

At one point, I once thought that the Power Rangers were real, and I actually wanted to become a Power Ranger o____o I never thought that cartoons were real or anything, but since the Power Rangers were acted out by real people, I thought that they were real >.> That only lasted for a month or something, since my brother eventually told me that it was a TV show, and that they weren't real, but I laugh whenever I think about it.

Oh, and I think that I actually wanted my toys to come to life whenever no one was at home. I have no idea why, but the thought of it simply intrigued me, I guess.

I used to watch ET a lot when I was little but I was afraid of aliens. I used to be afraid of some alien coming and taking me away, until my mom told me 'they live in California.' I though I was where I was in New York, but what she really meant was in Hollywood in the movies. My brother an I were so weird when we were little. ^^'

I used be terrified of a cat that lived outdoors, every time he walked past me I screamed.
And I'm still terrified of any bee that flies by. XD

Yeah. Afraid of Santa. D:, everytime I saw him on TV, I'd get sick. I had a little thing, like a blanket, that I would go everywhere with it. I'd go pee with it. When it disappeared, I ran out of home like I was leaving definitively home. D:

I always thought that chikens...meaning hens and cocks, were always out there for revenge since I was one of the people that ate them. Till today I still have a problem with eating chicken.

I admit, when I was younger, I was deathly afraid of cooties. XD I didn't go anywhere near a female and didn't touch anything they had touched first. But like most children, I quickly grew out of that habit (thank god).

Well, I believed that God existed when I was a little kid.

I remember that when I was about five or six, I used to believe that if I concentrated hard enough before falling asleep, I could be in a cartoon. I also thought that if I thought hard enough about a previous dream, I'd have it again. I still try, but I know there's only about a 0.0000000001% chance of it actually happening. (Estimate) I also actually believed that blowing on dandelions (the fluffy kind) would actually give me a wish come true. After I grew out of the dream thing, I tried wishing for Fairy Godparents. xD

I also thought ChalkZone was a real place, but you needed to draw a circle on the chalkboard after regulaer school hours. In afterschool, me and a group of friends would try to go. That hurt.

Um... Okay.

I used to think I was some random 'Chosen One' selected to get myself a group of followers (which I did, about twenty of us) to defeat the evil Dark Masters, which were like demons, if I recall correctly.

My friends and I believed in it for two years, and we had, like, forty members, all who believed. Ah, the silly antics of five year olds.

I used to believe the exact same thing. I always tried to put myself in a pokemon episode I watched right before bed. Also, I was made to believe that:

(i) Looking at naked women would make you go blind (didn't stop us).
(ii) When it's raining and the sun's out, monkeys are getting married.
(iii) Rain being God's tears.
(iv) Jelly being made out of ants.

That's all I remember for now.
