  • I just battled Lance and Clair in the Dragon's Den, where Nuggets (Silver's name in my game) was my partner. And man, he had to be one of the most useless partners in the history of double battles. His Meganium was down after two hits from Gyarados's Ice Beam, and Gengar just stood there getting pummeled by Waterfall. He couldn't even land a hit before he was down too. Finally, he send out Crobat, who at least landed Toxic on Gyarados but went down easily as well. I took on every one of Lance and Clair's Pokemon with one on my side and two on theirs.

And then Lance had the nerve to call us a team. We weren't a team, Lance! I fought the entire battle!

I love Silver, but he was terrible in that battle, luckily I managed to scrape a victory thanks to my Gengar's destiny bond and a lot of revives and potions.
To be fair to him, he was horribly outleveled by Clair and Lance, I think they made him so much weaker than your oppodents for 2 reasons:

1 - Realism, its hard to imagine Silver outclassing the champion.
2 - A test, I think that battle was a very challenging test of skill.

I agree with you on Lance calling you a team, it wasn't a team battle, it was a 2 on 1 battle.

Yeah, he's weak with Meganium. However, if you chose Cyndaquil, his Feraligatr is fairly decent.

However, think about it. You kicked his ass repeatedly. He went to Dragon's Den, and somehow levelled up fast. And when he can't go to Mount Silver and the Gym Leaders aren't exactly his biggest fans, where does he have to train his team?

  • At least he had his Feraligatr survive to Ice Fang everyone...
I was also horribly underleveled (55-60) and I needed TONS of resets just to win.
    But... I got 30.000 $$$. Yay for Amulet Coin !! :)

  • If you chose Cyndaquil, his Feraligatr is actually a little useful in Ice Fanging everything that moves, and since this a double battle against two dragon specialists, that could be quite useful. XD

I remember on my first playthrough, my Crobat and his Crobat just alternated turns flying. XD

I started out with Totodile and judging by how he had Meganium, he was pretty awful. He lost all his team members early on.

I have yet to battle them, but im prepared, i just taught my feraligatr dragon claw, and i finally got my hands on a jolteon, so those gyarados' wont be a problem and dragonclaw should take care of the rest

  • I have to agree with all of you guys. During that battle he did go down pretty quickly but at least he packed a punch. Clair was down to her last Pokemon and Lance was as well so it wasn't so bad =)

He was a very bad partner.
He left me hanging with only my Feraligatr to finish the rest of Lance's Pokemon off.

  • He was great to me. Took down three of them and took the brunt of most of the attacks when I lost most of my pokemon. If it wasn't for him, I'd have lost. He had Typhlosion, btw. So yeah, I don't know what I did to have him be helpful, but he was.

  • He had Feraligatr; It got OHKO'd on the first turn. -_-' His Gengar helped a bit, but went down quickly as well. Crobat didn't do anything, since Gengar fainted on like the last turn. My pokemon were only about level 50, and I still KO'd everything. (Except for maybe one. :pink_laugh:)

  • For me, the situation was opposite. I was completely useless in that battle. My Pokemon were only level 40-50, while everyone else was level 60+. We still lost though. And like everyone said, his Feraligatr was useful.
