EV training is a special type of training. Lets say you have an Alakazam, and he wants really high speed. He has to EV train in speed.

Every Pokemon produce different EV points. Alakazam will battle Zubat in order to have a high speed. Zubat produces 1 point in Speed.

Every 4 points you have in a stat. that certain stat gets raised by one. Each stat can take up to 252 EVs in a stat. Which means every stat can have 63 points stronger than normal.

Alakazam battles 252 Zubat in order to max out speed. And then Alakazam's speed will get raised by 63 points.

Okay...I think I get it. What about IVs?:paranoid:

Hey, one quick question, if I use Knock off on a Choice Itemed Pokemon, and they switch out after, if they come back in, do they still have the item attached?

Are you suggesting for every 4 Zubat's defeated, the Alakazam gains 1 stat point in speed? Because I was farming Gastly's with a Macho Brace, and I kept checking the Sp. Atk of my Rotom, yet there were no significant changes.

So

1)By any chance, does the Pokemon you're EV training have to be lower level than the Pokemon to gain the point? Otherwise, I have no idea what I'd be doing wrong.

and

2)Where can I find a list of the best Pokemon to farm for EV Training?

Well, the EV's don't make an immediate difference sometimes you won't start noticing big changes until level 80+ when its special attacks tat might start going up +9 each level.

Here is a list of all HP EV point giving pokemon on Serebii. A * means that it gives out more than one type of EV point and If you would like to switch stat categories just use the buttons at the top. Hope that helps.

Good question, I'm not sure but I think your opponents pokemon won't get it back until teh end of the battle. I could be wrong though.

Never seen that Serebii page before. Thanks.

And that leads me to my next point. :\

Where should I train 70+?

If your asking about speed then the best place is:probably Snowpoint Temple cause' its got level 40+ pokemon(including Golbat which gives 2 Spd EVs)

Sorry, but I have another short question.

I breeded a Skarmory with a Fearow, which should mean he should learn Drill Peck as an Egg Move... He wasn't born with it, so when can I expect him to learn it? Or am I doing it wrong again? :\

Only Males can pass on egg moves, so if the mom knows Drill Peck then her baby won't.

I see. Ahaha, I heard that somewhere the male needed to know the move, yet I was using a Skarmory male, and at the same time thinking "How the hell would a Skarmory know Drill Peck when I'm trying to breed someone who has it!". It never occured to me to just switch the damn genders of them.

Man, I hate using Heart Scales.

Thanks, guys, now I think I've got breeding and training down.

While fighting my rival's Staraptor at the fight area I used mean look, hoping to trap him and toxic his way to death but it used U-turn and MANAGED to escape!!!

So I was just wondering does baton pass and other escaping moves work if they are trapped by mean look and block? This could screw up a lot of strategies. >_>

I believe that Block and Mean Look only stops switching out by ordinary means (the trainer calls his/her Pokemon back). Also goes for Wynaut's Shadow Tag ability. I've tried this before.

P.S.: I've noticed this is your 3rd post in 3 years. /not stalker.

Jordan.

If I've EV trained my Pokemon but I haven't trained them to level 100 and I do a Level 100 battle over Wi-Fi will it ignore the EVs or will it make the stats what they actually would be if my Pokemon were level 100?

Your EVs will definately be calculated over Level 50 and 100 battles on Wifi.

Ah thanks and yes. Got back in to Pokemon mood so came back.

Eh?! Sorry I've not been able to connect to WiFi play yet but WHAT? You mean they'll just zoom up to lv100 in WiFi? Should I even bother training the rest of my team to lv100 then?

That's right. Rather, you should just EV train, & level up so they can learn the proper moves.
