Anyone here enjoy alcohol from time to time?

I have a bottle of Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream, and some vanilla vodka in my freezer. When I am close to sleep, I might have a shot. I also tend to drop a shot of Bailey's in my coffee on mornings that I don't have my daughter. It's something I may do once or twice in a week.

Rum, tequila, and vodka are my preferred poisons. I don't drink to socialize, I drink to get so drunk that I either start rambling about philosophical ******** or to get a mixture between murderous levels of rage and giddy as all hell as far as feelings go.

I just ran out of wine :( but tomorrow I'm heading to my boyfriend's which has like all the alcohol under the sun so it's okay!

At my place I tend to only get what I plan on drinking and then drink only that until it's out - rum and cokes for a few weeks, then wine for a few weeks, then vodka and orange soda for a few weeks, etc.

Well look at my age? Do I need to tell you?

... Okay, no I don't. Nor will I ever since I am a Christian and we don't believe in drinking. Though that doesn't stop a lot of people...

Wait uh...Christians drink wine literally as part of their service. Jesus made a huge deal about creating wine! I am questioning this interpretation of Christianity.

Anyway plenty of 15 year olds drink anyway. I never did cause I was ~~too cool~~ much like you. My mom used to offer me her wine and I would tell her it was disgusting. Now we gladly drink together! (because my mom is the best)

Occasionally I partake in small amounts of alcohol when my boyfriend is drinking, but I don't really drink myself. I'm underage for the US and I still don't have much of a taste for it. ;P

For a non alcoholic alternative, there is grape juice at communions for people to have in place of wine. Not sure if this is a widespread practice but it's what happened at my church back when I used to be religious.

    Just saiyan.

I'm 18 years old (soon to be 19 in a couple of days) and proud to say I haven't had any alcohol nor do I ever intend to. If people want to drink alcohol then by all means, have at it! I just won't participate. The same can be said about smoking and drugs.

I know that it's an option and not required, but I highly doubt churches would offer something to their members that's a sin for them to accept.

It would most likely depend on the church then if anything. If the place has more minors then they might feel a bit more inclined to have grape juice as the main option for communion as opposed to the usual wine for a church that doesn't have many minors there if at all. Regarding your question as to why though is something that even I don't entirely know sadly.

See, the thing is that a lot of Christians are divided when it comes to views on Alcohol. Some say that it's okay in moderation, some believe in abstaining from alcohol. It really depends on the denomination as they can be very in their views and traditions. So maybe I could have been more specific. And, not to be rude, but my religious beliefs are none of your business.

Also, it doesn't matter if "Plenty" of 15 year olds drink. In the state a Live it's illegal to drink under the age of 21. And once again, the reason I don't drink is because of my religious beliefs, not because I'm "~~too cool~~" to drink.

Uh...if you don't want something discussed, why bring it up in a public forum designed for people to chat with each other? You are being pretty rude. I was commenting that you said "I am a Christian and we don't believe in drinking." I am no expert on all Christian denominations, but I know Catholicism for a fact is not as you claimed, and I'm fairly certain at least the most well-known Protestant denominations also offer wine during services which means they can't possibly think drinking at all is wrong. That's why I questioned what you claimed. Don't want questions, don't make sweeping theological statements that are wrong.

The reason I pointed out that plenty of 15 year olds drink is because you told people to look at your age as if that tells you anything about whether or not you drink. It was not an encouragement for you to drink.

Ha, drinking with my parents is weird. Especially since I have a higher tolerance than my mother. Half a margarita and she's buzzed.

Nor will I ever since I am a Christian and we don't believe in drinking. Though that doesn't stop a lot of people...

Actually, um... The 'grape juice' option is for kids, usually, because, you know, underage drinking is looked down upon and all that. Though most Vatican II churches, which should be all of them by now, rarely, if ever, have the congregation drink the wine. Usually it's only the priest. Though this is mostly my experience. It's not even strong wine. It's a white wine that is weak as hell. At least that's what we had.

Though no Christian sects, save for those with 'a la cult' status, believe alcohol is evil/a sin to consume. It is no where listed in the CCC that it is wrong. It is a Protestant thing; Baptists, Pentecostals, and LDS mostly. Even then it is not wrong, it is just about moderation and not being drunk in public.

Abstentionists believe that although alcohol consumption is not inherently sinful or necessarily to be avoided in all circumstances, it is generally not the wisest or most prudent choice. While most abstentionists do not require abstinence from alcohol for membership in their churches, they do often require it for leadership positions.

Though, the statement that you don't drink because you're Christian is a rather large generalization.
