So first of all, I'd like to say that I hope this isn't in the wrong place, but I'm new so bare with me. Thanx.

Anyways, i couldn't help but notice that the communication features on Pokemon X/Y just plain suck. It's like practically I don't like about the game. I mean, to even call them "communication features" is probably improper in that you can't really communicate with anyone.

If we can connect to the internet during gameplay, I don't see why a chat feature cannot be included, but yet they didn't include such a feature at all! Why? Wouldn't it make it so much easier to trade with people? It'd be a simple matter of asking what someone has and what they'd be willing to trade for it. It would also make it easier to find what you want faster and easier. This would significantly simplify the entire trading process not to mention make it easier to interact with other players in general.

Also, it would be nice to have a display option/privacy setting features that would allow one to display their Pokemon so that other players can see what kind of Pokemon. This would both allow players to showcase their collection if they wished and would also simplify the trading experience, eps in that if one player saw what they wanted in another player's collection, all that player would then do would ask that player if they'd be willing to trade that particular Pokemon.

Lastly, a battle option that allows players to increase stats and play with their current stats so that if anyone would want to, they could battle other players online with the option of increasing stats like when you battle other trainers in the game. Also, you can play with the current stats on your Pokemon; so for example; if your Charizard is on level 73 with so many pps and whathaveyou, instead of playing on a default level of 50 as all players do when it comes to online battling, you can play on that level, level 73. And to ensure a fair battle, the system can match up Pokemon in each players' party of equal potential, or almost equal at least, and if there isn't a fair match-up, the player either is disqualified to participate in the battle, or has the option of leaving the battle to avoid unfair loss.

So here's an idea that I'd like to present to you all; this is not necessarily to complain about what the game doesn't have, but to present to you what can make the game better. Why not go to Nintendo or the Pokemon company and present these ideas to them and politely request that they either update the game to include these features, or that they include such essential features in the next game if they can't include them in an update?

    Anyone in favor?

No offense, but you REALLY need to read the manual or try out the features or something: You CAN chat with the people you trade with, you can VERBALLY chat in fact (no typing or anything) Yes it is limited to your friends, but it is still there. And when you battle, there are a set of rules where you can set the number of pokemon, the pokemon level, whether or not special pokemon, multiples of the same pokemon and same items can be selected (so you can set all levels to 50, or you can turn off that option completely and have no restrictions at all on pokemon levels. Sure, there may be an issue of disparate levels, but that's the reason there's the option of having everything set to level 50. You can have no one able to use the same pokemon, or turn that off so they could battle you with six Metagrosses if they wants, you can set it so no one can have the same hold item on two different pokemon or they can use the same one on every pokemon if they want. It's all in the Battle Rules tab when you go into the Battle menu. Unless I grossly misunderstood what you're asking, most of what you want is already in the game, you just need to select the option in the menu.

There are 2 things I want from Game Freak: consistency in (good) post game content, and the ability to use whatever Pokemon I want in the Battle Maison. I really don't understand why GF is so inconsistent with post game content. Some games have plenty, some games don't have ****.

And why is it that any and all Pokemon are allowed in Battle Spot battles, but not in the Battle Masion? You'd think they'd wanna bar people from using Uber legendaries against each other, not the haxing AI.

And Howmander's right. There are decent communication features and you can now alter the rules of battle to some extent. It's not perfect, but its better than it used to be.

I'd really love it if players could actually chat through text in trades atleast. I just hate it when people start trading with me suddenly, show me some random pokémon and I'm like "um... what do you want? Why the sudden trade?" and I can't actually ask so the only thing I can do is either show off some other ****** pokémon and have the other guy disconnect, or disconnect myself.

I would've loved it if they'd given us an auto-save feature, where it saves your game automatically in the background each time you make some sort of an accomplishment (such as when you defeat a gym leader, your rival, enter a new location, etc). This way, if we ever forget to save our game before turning it off, we wouldn't have to worry at all. d:

Ah, see I'm fairly new to the game and I don't have any friends yet so I didn't know that. Well, in any rate, it would be nice if they permitted non-friends to chat as well, after all it'd make it easier to make friends in the first place that way, by getting to know people. And again, like I said, it would also simplify trading in that you could just let someone know what you're looking for/what you have/what you're willing to trade. But you said the only way to chat is through friends. That def explains it, esp since again, I don't have any friends yet.

Yes, that's one of my original points. And being that I don't yet have any friends and am fairly new to the game, I didn't know that a chatting was an option through friendship, now I know.

This is also why I suggested that they make an option available where one can publicly display their collection, that way no one feels the need to show off their Pokemon, everyone has the option of showcasing their collection, and could also simplify trade in that someone could know what you have and offer something for it if you're willing to trade it for something. All one would need to do is click on your profile and check it out if you were willing to showcase your collection. The same can be true with game progress and battle succession. And this is also why non-friend chat could also be useful.

I would've liked the Vs. Seeker. After beating your Rival and the people in the Chateau (which I usually avoid unless they're the Gym Leaders or Audino trainers), you're stuck with refacing the Elite 4, which is a pretty tedious process.

From what you listed, I don't however agree with your increased stats battling idea. It's a bit hard for me to wrap my head around right now because I'm kinda tired, but it sounds like it'd be hard to implement fairly. I think the current online battling structure is pretty fair in itself.

I agree with Flushed; I'd like the Vs. Seeker back. But you can rebattle trainers in the Battle Chateau and use Lumiose's restaurants as a source of EXP. Speaking of Lumiose's restaurants, I would've liked it if they offered single battles as well.

Regarding storyline, it would have been nice if Diantha had more involvement in the story. She appears like twice before you battle her in the League. It would've been cool for her to show up and help against the Team Flare crisis, and have her experience shock and surprise that Lysandre is the leader of Team Flare.

I'll spoiler this for those who didn't finish the game.

that's something i defiantly want, especially since i can't talk in rl, so i'm left with zero ways of communication in game

A Battle Tower/ Maison, where the AI does not cheat! Like for example, how the AI's hypnosis seems to be an almost 100% accurate move, in fact, I can't remember ever seeing it miss :S

They're programmed to read your next move too: I've had the AI continually use yawn on me because I kept switching out, as if they knew I was going to switch out- the moment I decide to stay in, the AI uses a damaging move on me, and that's happened a few times :S So yeah, there's definite reading of your move. They do a similar thing too, if you switch to something they have a super effective move for, they will often use that move on the switch, even if it would have been not very effective against the pokemon you were switching out, and they seem to get it right all the time.

I don't understand why they've done that either? It's not like the battle maison needs to be more difficult, all your pokemon are levelled the same and later on, they'll start using things like Heatran and Latios against you and some random scarf users that can really mess with your team, like that damn annoying, scarfed aerodactyl, that uses rock slide and nearly always seems to get a flinch :(

Most players are going to lose eventually, there's no such thing as a perfect pokemon team, cheating AI or not, so it'd just be nice to lose fair and square, and not because your opponent is able to read your next move, or because they have moves that are way more accurate than they should be.

I'd also have liked to have seen a few extra game modes on there. It's weird there weren't more, I mean all the difficult coding has been done, and the game looks and plays brilliantly, so it's kind of weird that they'd leave out some of the easier stuff. Would it have been so difficult for example, to include a way of fighting with someone else, against the AI in the Battle Maison, in a double battle, over wifi? I know you can probably do it if you organise it first, but why no random search feature that lets you find people at the Battle Maison and fight with them? Or as your OP says, better communication features? A text chat would be good. I don't particularly want to voice chat with anyone, I just want to be able to ask them things like those you mentioned in the OP.

I even think they could implement better options and tiers for random battles, like why can I not choose to fight 6v6 in a random or rating battle? Why do I have to spend ages trying to find someone willing to have a 6v6 battle by asking people individually? If they had a 6v6 option in the quick battle menu, it'd be so much better. In fact, they should have a 6v6 battle option for the Battle Maison as well. They could tier it too- have a battle tier that lets you use whatever, for people who like to use ubers and another tier that bans legends, but allows everything else, then maybe a smogon tier with all pokes being allowed, except legendaries and stuff smogon has banned.

So yeah, great game, but could do with some streamlining. It doesn't really need any big changes. Maybe we'll see that in another edition, which I hope they release

Adding to the list above, I agree to most.

Riding; everywhere! Why would I if I had a ryhorn, limit my riding to moms backyard or a mountain side. Cool feature, too limited.

More RPG, More sidequests please. More story, I may be spioled on Elder scrolls but I want more. More than Can you show me a green pokemon?
What about Having to look for a lost sibling, gathering clues, finnally finding her in the pokemon villerage?
Or some guy have lost his seecret note at the trainstation. Its actually a love letter to some maiden. But if youre to slow some one will find it, Some one being a jerk will post it in the newspaper. Oh myyy!
