    [PokeCommunity.com] Spiritomb

    In D/P/Pt at the Hallowed Tower on Route 209, you can encounter an eerie Pokemon by the name of Spiritomb. However before you can do so, you need to meet these requirements: You must of put the Odd Keystone in the Hallowed Tower beforehand and also chatted to 32 people that weren't NPCs, underground. Once you have done both of those you then needed to 'interact' with the Hallowed Tower, as in walking up to it and pressing A on your DS. Then you'll encounter a Level 25 Spiritomb, who you can catch if you wish. Spiritomb is also an interesting concept- it has a unique trivia fact behind it stating that in it's Diamond Pokedex entry it said that Spiritomb was made out of 108 spirits. However it's also #108 in the Pokedex while also having a Defense and Special Defense of 108. It also weighs exactly 108 kilograms, interesting isn't it?

    So did you attempt to catch Spiritomb or meet the requirements to encounter it? Would you of liked it to be a harder of a challenge to encounter it or a tad bit easier? If you did encounter it, were you disappointed or surprised by Spiritomb being the Pokemon you could catch after all that effort? Discuss!

    Back before I had two DSes, I got my brother to help me meet the requirements so that I could catch a Spiritomb. I haven't done it that way ever since then haha. That's a crazy requirement and while it makes sense, it's a bit too tedious. It was unique at least, so I'll give it that, and I thought it was a good reward for doing all that. Anyway though, I love Spiritomb and it's one of my favorites. :)

    I think it was a ridiculous way to catch a Pokémon. I wasn't able to get one for ages because I only had one DS. Even if they wanted to do it like that, chatting to 32 people is a huge amount. Personally, I think it was easier getting it through the Pokéwalker.

    Omg I was happy because Spiritomb is awesome imo. It was quite hard to catch him, but I could catch it and he was pretty useful to my team (he defeated Cynthias Garchomp) I used google to get spiritomb tho. I was a kid and i didnt know what to do. But it was sooooo hard to complete the requirements ;( I had to use the DS of my cousin lol

    Same as Syd, I only got it because I had two DSes ;o; If I didn't have two, I wouldn't have even bothered. It is pretty tedious but Spiritomb is one of my favorites so I couldn't resist.

    At least it's not as bad as getting a Feebas in RSE... ;;

    I did have an extra DS but sadly I didn't get Spiritomb cos I hated the requirements needed to get it, especially talking to 32 different players, and given my brother never plays Pokemon anymore I could not reach that goal.

    I'd have to admit it's almost as hard to get as Feebas in games before 5th Generation but at least Spiritomb does make a decent defensive player in battle and it's association with the number 108 is interesting.

    I found it quite silly to catch. I never used it myself, since my Pokemon were already quite a few levels above it. It does have a unique concept and typing though, so I'll give it that. And, it does prove pretty powerful - but annoying - when battling Cynthia; it's not a completely useless Pokemon, but it catching method could have been a bit more straightforward. Or at least...interesting. Why not give it its own backstory? A side quest? Nope! Of course not.

    Considering it wasn't a legendary Pokemon, that much work didn't really seem worth all the trouble just to catch a Spiritomb. I didn't have two DSes or know multiple people with the game, either, so the only way I managed to eventually get one was through the GTS (which I quickly found out was hacked beyond belief).

    I do find its association with the number 108 to be quite interesting though. I wonder if that number has any relevance to someone that worked on the games, or it was just something tacked on later to give a little more mystery to Spiritomb.

    Like a lot posts above it was annoying way to get a non-legend pokemon, I had to get one from the GTS as I was not going to waste money just to get ONE pokemon.

    Although It had an interesting typing and ability Spiritomb is the most intresting pokemon next to Ditto.

    I think talking to 32 non-NPCs is too crazy. I'd rather use the GTS, but chatting that much is worth it. Spiritomb is one of the coolest pokemon ever. How can a Ghost/Dark type not be cool?
