Gyarados does look like a traditional (?) chinese style dragon methinks. It lives in water and is blue... so it's a water dragon... But water/flying would be suitable IF IT COULD LEARN DECENT FLYING MOVES (can it even learn FLY?) and if there wasn't a Dragon-type already... So in the end, I agree with everybody else here.

new topic time: if you had to pick one water pokemon because of its looks who would you pic and why?

Starmie. It looks like a star .______. It has a glimmery jewel in it, hello. And it's purple. And... spikey?

It's always been one of my favourite Pokémon. At least since I got my Misty deck :3

Wailord! Who doesn't love a blue blimp. :3
xD
I don't! I've never liked Wailmer or Wailord... they're... just big blue blimps? And just like in the PokéSpe, they can't be on land, so whenever you use it out of the water, it feels... weird. Not that many people think about that. Not that it's important... but still x)

Milotic, it can learn Safeguard well and it's a very beautiful Pokemon too! ^^

Iv'e read any single post I didn't read before, and quite unlike Neko Sakuraba, I grow love to Water-types I didn't notice bfore, such as Tentacruel or Pelipper. Ambellina, do you really hate Wingull/Pelipper? It was my first Sapphire pokemon I caught :{ ...
I'll answer newer questions in my next post here, so ask another question in the mean time-I have great news for you!
I started playing Sapphire again to transfer pokemon (Kyogre, Regice, Walrein... <3), and was looking for a good-natured Goldeen to make it a mixed sweeper. I didn't even notice it in the first place, but it just dropped on me-I found a shiny Goldeen!
I caught it. It's Adamant with Water Veil, making it a good candidate for physical sweeping (I was looking for one to mix-sweep with Ice Beam, but the standart is physical anyway). I transferred it to Diamond, but for some reason I forgot to nickname it before transferring...

Sorry for not being on. I had to take a personal break. Never fear! All is well ^^

-Vaporeon. 'nuff said XD
& yes Froslass, I do have a wingull but I've never used it.

Silly me, I was intending to type "hate"...

If you could make one Pokemon a Water type, what would it be and why?
Dragonair, without a doubt. I mean, it can't even live outside water, how come it's not a Water-type?
What items do you let your water pokemon hold?

Mostly Leftovers, as many Water-types have an enormous HP stat, such as Wailord, Lapras, Vaporeon...
What is your favourite water animal in real life? If any?
The bowhead whale, the only whale who never mirgrates south of the arctic/subarctic in winter.

How can't you love that :< ?
What is the best adjective you can use to describe water pokemon?
Splendid.
How are Water & Ice types interrelated?
Ice andWater are the same matter. The entire north pole is an ocean. The entire south pole is seperated from mainland by thousands of kilometers, the ones closer to the the Antractic continent also freeze during winter.
Which region has the best water pokemon?
Hoenn, obviously, the enitre region was Water-based.
Can Lugia be considered a water pokemon?
Pseudo-Water, yes.

Even thought the amount of Ice-types was dissapointing...Sinnoh is excaly the opposite, alot of beautiful Ice-types but very few Water-types...at least we have our precious Floatzel and Gastrodon to make up for that...

-Indeed, but it's so hard to find a flatzel with a decent defence stat :/
Base 55 isn't the best there is...but it's as fast as Starmie, which is amasing on a Rain team as it'll outurn virtually anything, Deoxys-S included.

That leads into a good question, What water pokemon has the worst Base Stats?

Among fully-evolved pokemon, I belive Luvdisc. So what? Delibird has "terrible stats" and I still adore it. The same is true for Luvdisc. It's so cute <3...

I made another banner, it's more or less the same except there is less contrast so you can see the pokemon better.
