Splatoon~

I had a lot of good matches in the Splatfest, even though most matches were against fellow red team members. Plus I got another level up during it.

I also enjoyed that once you got to champion rank it said Pokemon Red/Blue Champion, I wished they changed the names of the ranks so Fanboy/Fangirl became Trainer, Fiend could have been Gym Leader, Defender could have been Elite 4 member, Champion would stay as it is and King/Queen could have been Master.

Today is Splatfest again, and this time, the rules have changed. So far, I'm struggling with this new power system, because after a few wins, my team keeps on losing. I felt like throwing my controller out of pure frustration.

This splatfest might be the nail in the coffin for Splatoon. For me.

The new splatfest rules are terrible and this is the worst splatfest they've had. It needs to change back. There's nothing fun about being forced to play in ranked mode for the whole splatfest, which is supposed to be a chance to get lots of players to play at the same time and, ya know, have fun. There's nothing fun about this new system. It only encourages people to play like assholes, which is a trend I've seen month after month up to today where I'm thinking I might never play the game again.

I don't fault Nintendo or anything like that. They're responding to the wishes of players. People who play the game were upset that splatfests usually were won by the smaller team that all the high ranked players congregated in. It's those kind of players who have slowly been making the game less enjoyable over time. I mean, we all know what it feels like to play when some level 50 player with an E-Liter appears at the start.

It used to be a fun game and now it feels like any other online shooter. It makes me sad.
