Uhmm hehe okay well it's pretty simple.
Light shading contains Coloured outline, the darkest shading contains black outline.
Do you understand ?
If the outline is just coloured it almost looks like a pillowshade, and thats not what you want in your hack =p
If the outline is just black it looks pretty weird and messes up the fake totally.
For instance, look at the backpicture of mine giratina, you see when the outline is black and when it's coloured.
The best thing to do is try it, or just find a tutorial and check how outline is suposed to be =)

Hey! I've just started spriting.. I had some help from a friend on the Ponyta and Absol, and from there I just went on my own. I realize on a couple the outlines are weird, but no matter what I try, when I open a pic from the internet onto my computer, it ends up with a black wallpaper (like everything around it is black) and it sometimes is the same color as parts of the outline. Well, here they are:

I use a program called GIFAnimator. Simple name, but it's easy. You just have to make the pics on another program. I can also make cursors! But, nobody commented my pics...

I'm trying to make a new evlution chain.
This time i make Dragon/ground type.

Here is the first stage.


Name:
Type: Dragon/Ground.
Ability: Fake Faint.
Info: These Pokemon are rarely seen alone, they are scared alone, so they seek security towards the elders of the pack.
THey attack when ambushed, there sharp claws and huge fangs can injure you badly.

Can i get some c&c on this lil critter ? =)

(Again, with GBA Ampharos colors.)

I have used this in a hack and it works great.
You have to expand ROM space, though.

Maybe the under-part of the right side of the wheel should be outlined black...

I was wondering which sprite you all think is better the first one or the last one. And also can I have some constructive criticism on how to make this sprite replicate the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum sprite style.

Well, They are almost the same xD In my opinion the second is better because it
shading its better. Maybe you can give some effect to the outline, i mean, every line
in the outline has one colour, it would be better if you can mix more the dark green and
black from the outline.10/10 for the second, I like your fake very much xD

The Deoxys is pretty good, but doesn't the Speed form usually keep its tentacle things straight, not twisted?
