I started a Normal Monotype on Y the other day, and marathoned it like crazy so I could get it done within the start of the event and the end of it.

I got all the badges. Of all of them, Valerie was the hardest by far, more details once I post this in the Monotype thread. 800 points there.

I reached the Elite Four, entering at Level 59, none of them were really that hard at all even without items. The Champion was actually a good challenge this time, Goodra was hard what with its big Special Defense.

But we did it! Then we beat AZ and completed the game.

Proof for both the Monotype and the clearing within the event timeframe. 200 points for the former and 300 for the latter.

Points total: 6400

this is my only update so far and i've only had time to play last night due to a ton of workload ;_; nonetheless, I think it was most enjoyable after specifically choosing all that i can do within my timeframe. Here's the roundup:

+100 accomplishments:
- Win a bug-catching Contest
- catch a wild swablu (for my tyranitaltaria E4 duo)
- obtained a Combee from headbutting in Pt
- obtained a Heracross from headbutting in SS
- made an in-game trade for that Onix in SS
- revived myself an Aerodactyl in SS

+200 accomplishments:
- obtained 2 egg moves for newly-bred Ratta (flame wheel, reversal)

+300 accomplishments:
- beat elite four with tyranitaltaria
- conquered the battle factory against frontier brain thorton (49th battle/gold symbol)
- fully EV-trained my altaria (eventually) while training it

Total: 1700...

It sucks 'cause I wanted to do the other E4 challenges and even aiming for Master Rank in contests, but I got no more time to spare. Oh well, glad I made it nonetheless. Sorry for the dark screenies...didn't notice that my app takes em a la WYSIWYG. As for the black spaces and bothersome on-screen game pad. lol. I'm just lazy.

7/30 Progress Report

Possibly my last update, depending on whether or not I have time to do some badges in Heart Gold before I leave the house tomorrow.

• Reset my Lucario's EVs and then EV trained it a little better. +300 points
• Then used it to beat up the Elite Four. +200 points
• Platinum Badge Progress: Earned the other 5 badges. +500 points
• Beat the Elite Four in Platinum with a water team. Too bad they weren't all blue, too... +200 points
• Which means I've beaten Platinum during the event. +300 points
• Played X a little outside of Wal-Mart in a display chair. Hope that's a strange enough location. (It's not typical anyway.) That's gonna be under the spoiler below. +200 points, let me know if it doesn't qualify.

Here's more! Most likely gonna be the last update of mine.

First, I swept the Elite Four and Champion with my Haxorus in X, from my Hall of Fame team that I had since I first got the game. 200 points.

In Platinum, I got a jackpot at the slot machine. 300 points.

And found Cryogonal in White after over an hour of searching. Provided stats screen as proof I didn't chance my DS' clock.

I played X for a little bit in my neighbor's grove, in between their trees and near some bushes. Not sure how strange a location this counts as, but I put it in anyway. 200 points if it's good enough.

Then I made a Blue Flute on Ruby... 100 points for that.

And transferred my Red Mono-Color team from Ruby to Soul Silver. 100 more points.

Points total: 7600

EDIT: I was adjusting the post I made on the first page tracking all my progress, and when I counted what I had I found 7800 points and not 7600, which is weird. Could someone check them over for me? Not a massive deal but it was odd. Guess i'll count as 7800.

Won a bug catching contest in HG (100, full healthed Pinsir)
Obtain at least three Eeveelutions within the same game (100, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon in HG)
Got to level 3 of Voltorb Flip in HGSS (100)
Revive a fossilized Pokemon (100, Cradily in HG)
Listened to Youngster Joey's phonecall (100, in HG)
Caught a Lapras in Union Cave in HG (100)
Get all Pokethlon medals (200, got them all on a Unown(each form has different stats) in HG)
Solo the E4 (200, With my Hydreigon in White who became level 100 in the process)
Rematch a Gym Leader (200, Sabrina in HG)
Conquer a battle facility (300, Battle Hall in HG)
Collect all Unown (300, in HG)
Find a Golden Leaf in HGSS (300, in HG)

That's 2400 points, i don't feel like doing any more(and i don't have X/Y to do the simpler ones) so this will be my final score.

Final Progress Report

Turns out I had some time for last-minute points!

• HG Kanto Badge Sweep: 8 badges. All easy except for Blue; I was a bit underleveled but still won. +800 points
• Joey called me! Was not about his Rattata, but about his failure about catching a Caterpie. :( +100 points
• Got some real... gems on Wondertrade. I'll show them both because they're special in their own ways, but obviously it's only +100 points

Then -1000 points for crashing my computer while trying to resize my trainer card picture. Don't resize a giant picture to 500% bigger instead of 500 pixels. My laptop can't handle that crap. -_-;

FINAL TOTAL: 6600 points

I had a ton of fun doing this challenge. :D

Time for my last update! I was supposed to be off of work yesterday but I got called in so there were a few mini-challenges that I didn't get to, but overall I got to pretty much all of the challenges that I wanted to! I wanted to go ahead and post this before the deadline.. If I have time I'll upload the pictures!

• Obtain a Headbutt Tree Pokemon in GSC or HGSS - 100 points
  I caught an Aipom yesterday which I transferred to White 2, then X, and it has now evolved into an Ambipom!
• Migrate a group of at least 6 Pokemon from one generation to the next - 100 points
  Yesterday I migrated four boxes of Pokemon from White and White 2 (2 boxes each) to Pokemon X, not counting the 6 or 7 groups of Pokemon that I migrated to White and White 2 from Diamond and SoulSilver. All worth it for the Dex data!
• Find a shiny by wild encounter - 300 points
  An hour or so ago I actually ran in to a shiny Ursaring! And to brag even more on my luck, I caught it with a critical capture! Which I didn't even realize were still a mechanic in X and Y!
• Become a perfect customer at Restaurant Le Wow - 300 points
  I just finished doing this. Decided to use the restaurant to level up for Dex data, then saw this as a mini-challenge. I got a perfect meal on the third try, and was one turn short of a perfect meal on the second (I took two moves to defeat the Milotic/Wobbuffet trainer who required three).
• Obtain a badge - 300 points
  I started a new game on Red yesterday (for the complete a game start to finish challenge), and so far I have defeated Brock, Misty, and Lt. Surge, earning my first three badges!
• Make Walda laugh in Emerald - 300 points
  And I got a pretty nifty wallpaper for my PC as well!
• Make no collisions on Cycling Road in RSE - 100 points
• Create a flute from ash in RSE - 100
  Decided to go for the Blue Flute in Emerald.
• Get to level 3 of Voltorb Flip in HGSS - 100 points
• Get to level 5 of Voltorb Flip in HGSS - 200 points
  Spent an hour on Voltorb Flip.. I got to level 7 and I lost too many times and eventually got dropped down to level 2 so I gave up on reaching level 8. I may try for it again later though!
• Listen to Youngster Joey's phonecall - 100 points
• Find a Golden Leaf in HGSS - 300 points
  Dragonite found a pretty leaf just south of Ecruteak Town.
• Make an in-game trade - 100 points
  I traded Diantha an Eevee that was sitting in my box for her Ralts that was conveniently holding a Gardevoirite!
• Revive a fossilized Pokemon - 100 points
  I had a spare Claw Fossil in X that I revived to receive an Anorith!
• Get a five-star ranking on a Pokemon Amie mini-game - 100 points
  I became a master berry picker.
• Successfully breed at least 2 egg moves on a Pokemon - 200 points
  Decided to randomly breed Yawn and Endure onto the three Eevee for the Eeveelution challenge. Had to get a Dunsparce up to level 40 to do it though!
• Obtain at least three Eeveelutions within the same game - 100 points
  After breeding for my Eevee, I bought a Water Stone and a Fire Stone to evolve the first two, and leveled up the third Eevee by the Moss Rock in the Winding Woods.
• Create a PR Video - 100 points
  I actually created two - I made my first one ever then another one just in case the first 'trial' video doesn't count.
• Catch a wild Swablu - 100 points
  Traveled to the Abundant Shrine in Unova to get this little guy!
• Catch Cryogonal out of season in BW - 300 points
  Then went to Twist Mountain to find the ice-mirror thingy known as Cryogonal.
• Catch a Hidden Grotto Pokemon - 100 points
  Luckily, the first Grotto I searched had a lovely Leavany just waiting to be caught!
• Make a PokeStar movie - 100 points
  I stared in the sequel to Brycen-Man, the Oscar award winning Brycen-Man Strikes Back!
• Solo the E4 - 200 points
  I traveled back to Kalos and defeated the Elite Four and Champion with my trusty Charizard...
• Monocolor the E4 - 200 points
  ...Then immediately turned around and took them on again with my blue Pokemon team, Blastoise, Exploud, Salamence, Metagross, Samurott, and Aurorus.
• Monotype the E4 - 200 points
  Decided to use a collection of Fighting-types that I recently transferred to X to take on the Elite Four once again.
• Obtain a Honey Tree Pokemon in DPPt - 100 points
  I slathered a few trees this morning and found an Aipom on one of them!
• Collect all Unown (including ! And ?) - 300 points
  This didn't take as long as I thought it would
• Win a Musical in Unova - 100 points
  I don't really have much experience with the musicals, but he spokes with me last so I think that means I won?
• Get all Pokethlon medals - Speed, Jump, Power, Stanima, Skill - 200 points
  I did Speed, Jump, and Power last night and Stanima and Skill this morning. This was not as difficult as I thought it would be!
• Win a Bug Catching Contest in GSC or HGSS - 100
  And I got myself a whopping Pinsir to boot!
• Buy Porygon from the Game Corner - 300 points
  Tried again to reach level 8 and failed, but I did realize that I had accrued enough points to score myself a Porygon! I forgot to take a picture, but I'll try to remember to get one later.
• Decorate an awesome secret base with 5 items or more - 100 points
  It's a little cramped, but I have my obligatory Gulpin doll on my desk so it is home!
• Catch and evolve Feebas in RSE - 300 points
  I caught it in Sapphire (luckily, I had already found the tile a while back, so I just had to fish one up), then transferred in to SoulSilver where I got it to evolve (since my battery is dead in Sapphire and I can't evolve it there).
• Become a perfect customer at Restaurant Le Yeah - 200 points
• Become a perfect customer at Restaurant Le Nah - 100 points
  Decided to go ahead and knock these out as I was training Mismagius to level 100.
• Get a Pokemon to level 100 - 100 points
  ...and then I got this finished! Mismagius leveled up pretty fast, which was nice!
• Obtain a Pokemon foreign to you from Wonder Trade - 100 points
  Decided to do some Wonder Trading before I stop for the day, and got this Spanish Dratini on my first try.
• Obtain a Pokemon with a terrible nickname from Wonder Trade - 100 points
  And I just now got this poor Cubone with a literally awful nickname.. but at least it gets me points.
• Obtain a badge - 100 points
  Last night I defeated Erika in my run through Red. Hopefully I'll be able to get the rest of the badges and finish it up soon.
• Catch a Lapras in Union Cave - 100 points
  The first thing I did this morning was catch Lapras...
• Catch the Mysterious Balloon Pokemon of Valley Windworks - 100 points
  ...then I traveled to Sinnoh to catch a cute little Drifloon!
• Rematch a Gym Leader - 200 points
  While training some Pokemon I ran in to Valerie in the Battle Chateau, earning me another 200 points!
• Obtain a badge - 200 points
  I defeated Sabrina and Koga last night in my quick run through Red, and right now I'm in Cinnabar about to take out Blaine.
• Use a duo of Altaria and Tyranitar to defeat the E4 - 300 points
• Use a team randomly assigned to you to defeat the E4 - 200 points
• Use an NFE team against the E4 - 200 points
  So a bulk of my Pokemon playing yesterday consisted of training Altaria, Tyranitar, my random team, and my NFE team. Today I took out the Elite Four and Champion with all three sets of Pokemon. Altaria and Tyranitar were harder to use than I expected, and my NFE team was easier to use than I thought it would be.
• Fully EV train a Pokemon - 300 points
  To finish off today, I went ahead and EV trained this Gourgeist. I got it through Wonder Trade a few days ago, and it has 5 IV's (31/31/x/31/31/31) and even some egg moves, as well as a beneficial nature. I probably won't use it for anything, but I decided to EV train for my first time in XY, giving it a 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SpA spread. For the record, I discovered that EV training is super easy in this generation.
• Catch any legendary in a Pokeball - 100 points
  I didn't think I would have the patience to complete this challenge, but Terrakion allowed me to catch it on the second Pokeball!
• Obtain a badge - 100 points
  I got Blaine's badge in Red yesterday, and right now I'm in the Viridian Gym.
• RNG abuse for a shiny - 200 points
  Decided to RNG abuse for a Calm 31/31/31/31/31/31 shiny Spoink in White.. It took a little bit, but eventually my old RNG abuse skills resurfaced!
• Catch Missing No. in RBY - 200 points
  I didn't realize how easy it is to exploit the MissingNo. glitch in Red.
• Win a Master Rank contest - 200 points
  Let's just say that I'm not exactly the best Pokemon Coordinator.. but I did it!

• Obtain a badge - 100 points
  I got the final badge in my run through Red...
• Complete a game from start to finish within the event time frame - 300 points
  ...and ran through Victory Road to finish up the run!

I'd just like to say though, this was an awesome idea, and you should definitely hold more "arcade" challenges in the future. I usually only play challenges and hacks, so there are a lot of aspects of the games that I miss, and it was great to have a challenge that actually includes a lot of things I've never done (even if I still didn't manage to actually do any of those things, haha, but I think I'll keep working at that checklist and doing as many as I can anyway)
