I'll just cut to the chase. PC needs to allow me to make an image that is 1920x1080 be able to AT LEAST stretch to fill up the entire section I select it for. The tiny, repeating images to not look good.

An even better way would be if I could fill the image to be the background for my entire page (Though that would probably require a bit of reconstruction of how profile sections are handled.)

    Thank you for your time

Ps. I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I'm just... passionate about the concept.

Could you perhaps explain farther on what you mean? Maybe someone else understands, but I cannot exactly comprehend what you mean.

...I think maybe he's referring to the profile background? Maybe he's referring to the fact that it has a size/filesize limit? Not quite sure.

Yeah I was looking at this yesterday, but I'm not entirely sure that I understand the issue. If I'm reading you right, you want a larger size for profile background pictures? The issue there is that it's one of the few differential factors between Crystal and Platinum supporters, and the divide between these (or lack thereof) is a very hot topic right now. Of course if you're asking for something else then please do say.

I think the size is okay as it is right now, all I do in situations like this is just edit the image to conform to background standards and also pick a colour that flows into the picture. It's sometimes hard to do but easy when you learn it.

I was under the impression that he wants images to stretch to fit the profile regardless of their original size. Correct me I am wrong though.

I guess that made a lot more sense to me since I already know what I mean.

    OK. Retry.

For the profile background image, that you can use instead of a solid color (Example being the jets over the desert on my profile) should be able to stretch to fit the entire section in which I have chosen it (I think its called the 'primary information block' or something like that) instead of being tiled like it is for me. My Image is 1920x1080 so filling the space is not a problem of my picture being to small, it has to do with the scripting of the site I believe. (Or maybe it just has to do with the size and resolution of my monitor, though I've had this problem with other peoples profiles having tiled images for backgrounds on smaller monitors also)

If it still doesnt make sense I can whip up some quick before and after pictures of what I mean.

I would rather have parts of the image cut off than it being tiled it just looks incredibly awful how it is.

Oh, essentially allowing the background-size: cover; CSS element for profiles. Would take some coding and I'm pretty sure profiles will be getting a revamp in the future anyway and this would be a nice option to include.

It essentially allows an image to expand to fit the background rather than tile when the window goes beyond the image size.

Your image may be resized if it is beyond the maximum permitted file size or dimension size permitted. You have a limit to the size of image that you are allowed upload to your profile picture albums, relevant to your usergroup.

When uploading an image, you will see the file limits displayed nearby.

i dont see anything wrong with the background for profiles. i just make a profile image then add a plain background color to my profiles. if you want a background image, you have to choose a pattern that will repeat nicely.
